Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Spirit Village, living beside a blacksmith shop. As a child, he was thin and wore patched gray clothing, but he already displayed unusually calm, bright eyes and efficiently handled household work such as drawing water. 1

At the academy, he became a central figure among the work-study students. He confronted Xiao Chenyu without escalating the conflict into a punishable private fight, earning the other students' respect. 5 He began cultivating his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, Tang Sect secret arts, and Hidden Weapons techniques; Master Yu Xiaogang later guided the development of his control, poison, and resilience. 7 28

Under Yu Xiaogang's guidance, Tang San acquired his first Soul Ring by defeating a four-hundred-year Mandala Snake. He used his newly gained Entangle skill to protect Xiao Xiaoxiao from a Phantom Moon Fox. 8 By the time he reached peak Rank 19, his Blue Silver Grass had become increasingly resilient and his Hidden Weapons had grown substantially more dangerous. 18

Tang San fought with Shrek Academy in the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament. During the final against Martial Soul Hall's Golden Generation, he accepted serious injury to shatter Yan's Absolute Defense and create an opening for his team; Shrek won the tournament. 89 He subsequently undertook painful rehabilitation for his injured right arm while intensifying cultivation of the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Purple Demon Eye. 96

After Martial Soul Hall began targeting him, Tang San traveled toward Gengxin City to acquire rare metals and prepare for his fifth Soul Ring. He and Xiao Xiaoxiao repeatedly intervened against Evil Soul Masters, rescuing mercenaries and resisting ambushes. 103 104 Tang Hao later rescued the pair from Martial Soul Hall and directed them toward Death City as a trial for further growth. 107

Tang San harvested immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Two-Legged Spring, using them to strengthen his companions and to assist Yu Xiaogang's Martial Soul evolution. 118 On Sea God Island, he surpassed the 254th Sea God's Light step and received a God-Bestowed Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring, becoming a Soul Emperor. 131

Following later conflicts, Tang San returned to Gengxin City and collaborated with Lou Gao to forge the Buddha Fury Tang Lotus. At the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San undertook successive trials and became a Soul Douluo.
