"Of course."
"Ji Shu, you're such a good person!"
Yue Lingshan was overjoyed.
Ji Shu smiled and said:
"But it's best to practice one move each day. Once you've mastered it thoroughly, move on to the next."
He had seen that Yue Lingshan's Mount Hua Swordplay was quite decent. Learning other sword arts would not be much of a problem for her.
Ning Zhongze was still being too cautious.
Of course, it might also have been Yue Buqun's intention. He did not want his daughter to delay her Internal Cultivation Method by becoming too absorbed in swordsmanship.
Little did they know that advancing hand in hand in both cultivation methods and sword arts was the best path.
In just two short days, Ji Shu's understanding of martial arts had undergone earth-shaking changes. After crazily absorbing the essentials of martial arts from Ning Zhongze like a sponge, his grasp of martial arts had completely surpassed Yue Lingshan's!
Though he might be slightly lacking in matters of common knowledge.
But in swordsmanship, he could crush even Ning Zhongze, much less Yue Lingshan. Guiding Yue Lingshan was effortless.
"No problem. Let's begin!"
Yue Lingshan could not wait any longer.
I practice Chong Ling Swordplay and Mount Hua Swordplay every day. I'm sick of them already! Ji Shu, hurry and teach me a couple of Jade Maiden Swordplay moves before my mother comes!
"Alright."
Ji Shu taught her one move.
Then he went to the side to eat breakfast.
Yue Lingshan practiced earnestly nearby, asking Ji Shu from time to time how she was doing. Ji Shu would point out the key tricks to her.
As Yue Lingshan came to sudden realizations, her face filled with admiration and relief. Luckily, she had gone to the foot of Mount Hua that day to take in disciples and brought Ji Shu into the Inner Sect. If Ji Shu had been taken in by another sect, would that not have been a tremendous loss?
Huff, huff!
After finishing breakfast, Ji Shu let out a long breath. The expelled breath was like a strip of white silk, curling and contracting in the air before returning through his mouth and nose.
Yue Lingshan stared sideways in shock. "Ji Shu, has your internal cultivation reached great accomplishment already?!"
"Not quite."
"..."
Yue Lingshan found it impossible to imagine. "At most, you've only been practicing internal cultivation for a day. Y-you're already nearly at great accomplishment?!"
Her eyes shone as she looked at Ji Shu. "How did you do it? Can I learn it too?"
"..."
Speechless, Ji Shu told her the truth.
Yue Lingshan then walked beneath the Old Sophora Tree and tried to sense it carefully. After a long while, she gave up dejectedly. She could not sense anything at all. Was this the difference between a genius and an ordinary person?!
Thinking of Ji Shu's speed at learning swordplay, she felt relieved, yet also somewhat excited.
"Ji Shu, let's keep practicing."
"Alright."
Ji Shu smiled and nodded.
From beginning to end, he had remained beneath the Old Sophora Tree.
Until the Huashan Heart Method could advance no further, he did not intend to leave this place casually.
Even while guiding Yue Lingshan in practicing Jade Maiden Swordplay, his internal cultivation continued improving without pause. What level had his cultivation truly reached now?
Even he did not know.
But after one night,
the surging internal energy within him had far surpassed yesterday's. That was an indisputable fact.
Even the ordinary Huashan Heart Method is like this. I wonder what the result would be if I cultivated the Purple Cloud Divine Skill?
Ji Shu's heart burned with anticipation.
Yet he restrained himself. Yue Buqun was not as easy to get along with as Ning Zhongze and Yue Lingshan. Better wait for now.
Half an hour later.
Ji Shu's ears twitched slightly. "Master Yue, someone is coming."
Yue Lingshan immediately stopped practicing her sword. She ran to the entrance, stood on tiptoe, shaded her eyes with her hand, and looked into the distance. Sure enough, she saw someone striding over quickly. She could not help looking at Ji Shu in surprise.
"Ji Shu, your hearing is already this powerful!!"
Ji Shu smiled and nodded. "Deep internal energy greatly enhances one's hearing and eyesight."
"That's far too enviable!"
Just thinking about it made Yue Lingshan despondent. She had cultivated for more than ten years, yet could not compare to Ji Shu's one or two days of cultivation!!
"Being a genius must feel absolutely, unbelievably wonderful!"
Yue Lingshan was green with envy. "I want to be a genius too!"
"A person's talent is innate."
Ning Zhongze's voice rang out.
"If you cannot be a genius, then work hard. Do not waste these splendid years of your youth."
As her voice arrived,
so did she.
Ji Shu looked to the side and saw that it was indeed Ning Zhongze. He immediately saluted her.
Yue Lingshan called out, "Mother."
Ning Zhongze nodded, thinking, Ji Shu's cultivation has now achieved success. In the martial world, he could already be considered a first-rate figure. Yet he remains so courteous and proper toward me. His temperament is truly steady.
Ning Zhongze was very satisfied with Ji Shu. He had a good temperament, understood courtesy and propriety, and possessed such high talent. A young man like this would surely shine brilliantly in the future!
"Ji Shu!"
Ning Zhongze perked up and raised a bundle in her hand.
"I stewed some nourishing soup for you. Remember to drink it after practicing swordsmanship."
"Thank you, Martial Mother."
"It is only right."
The more Ning Zhongze looked at Ji Shu, the more she admired him. Chong'er might have possessed talent surpassing all the other disciples, but he was wild and restless, had strayed onto the wrong path, and even called Flower Thieves and people of the Demonic Path his brothers. It was simply unbearable. Thinking of this, she said to Ji Shu:
"Ji Shu, as a righteous disciple of our Mount Hua Sect, remember never to keep company with those of the Demonic Path and Evil Path in the future."
"Yes, Martial Mother. I will keep it firmly in mind!"
"Very good. I hope you will do as you say."
Ning Zhongze nodded approvingly.
Afterward,
Ji Shu began practicing swordsmanship again.
Though Mount Hua had a respectable foundation,
its sword manuals were limited. There seemed to be stacks upon stacks of them, but some sword arts required several volumes just for explanations. Thus, all those piles of secret manuals amounted to only thirty-five sword arts in total.
Ji Shu had learned twenty of them yesterday. This morning, he mastered the remaining fifteen.
He had now learned all of Mount Hua's sword arts.
All fifteen sword arts gave rise to Sword Qi!
In the end, they were all swallowed by the Righteous Qi Sword, making the Righteous Qi Sword condensed almost into physical substance. It hung within his Dantian, shining brilliantly like a divine sword compressed to its absolute limit!
This Righteous Sword Qi even affected Ji Shu himself, causing earth-shaking changes in his temperament. He became more righteous, vast in spirit, and refined!
Standing there, he resembled a Literary Sage holding a divine sword of Confucian Dao!
Yue Lingshan and Ning Zhongze witnessed all of this.
They were delighted, shocked, admiring, envious, and hopeful... Their emotions surged, their gazes exceptionally complex!
They had both witnessed Ji Shu's transformation!
In only a few short days!
Ji Shu had transformed and sublimated from a completely ordinary Player into a master of the Sword Dao whom everyone could only look up to!
"Ji Shu, your Sword Dao has now achieved success. I have nothing left to teach you. Next, I plan to introduce you to my senior brother—your Master Yue's father. What do you think? Are you mentally prepared?"
"Martial Mother, I plan to see the sect leader after I have achieved success in the Huashan Heart Method."
"Your Speed of Progress in the Huashan Heart Method is fierce and unmatched. One day of your cultivation equals ten years of another's! Presumably, it will only take a few more days for your cultivation method to reach great accomplishment."
Ning Zhongze had examined Ji Shu's internal cultivation earlier, and she had been stunned on the spot. There were two entirely different currents of internal energy within Ji Shu's Dantian. One resembled Sword Qi and changed endlessly—at times sharp enough to bare its edge, at times vast and flowing, at times tyrannically unmatched...
