"How—how is that possible?!"
Yue Lingshan trembled slightly as she said,
"I've practiced Mount Hua Swordplay for over ten years. Even now, I haven't managed to cultivate sword qi. But you—you only just started cultivating, and you've already produced sword qi. This, this, this is absurd. You—you—you weren't just fooling me, were you?!"
Yue Lingshan's entire worldview, values, and outlook on life had been utterly overturned!
It was her first time seeing someone cultivate sword qi through the most basic Mount Hua Swordplay.
Even her father and mother couldn't do that!!
That was precisely why she was so shocked that she trembled. Even the "dignity" and "seriousness" of being Master Yue could no longer hold up. They completely crumbled before Ji Shu, leaving her standing there dumbfounded!
"Master Yue, you can examine me."
Ji Shu spoke solemnly,
"Once you've examined me, you'll surely have your answer."
Yue Lingshan approached him with uncertainty and examined him. Afterward, her expression became even more strange. She raised her head slightly to look at Ji Shu.
"You really never learned Mount Hua Swordplay before?"
"No."
"Then what did you learn before joining the Mount Hua Sect?"
"Baji Quan."
"What else?"
"That's all."
"This is your first time learning swordplay, and you learned the most basic Mount Hua Swordplay, yet you've already cultivated to the realm of Sword Qi Self-Generation!"
Yue Lingshan looked at Ji Shu as though he were a monster.
"Most importantly, you only watched me demonstrate it once, yet you reached this legendary realm. It's too absurd. It's hard for me to believe you completely."
"Master Yue can teach me a few more martial arts and test me."
"You're right."
Yue Lingshan pondered for a while, then nodded in agreement.
"Mount Hua Swordplay has already become commonplace. The main reason is that after you players learn it, you spread it around. I have reason to suspect that you learned Mount Hua Swordplay many years ago. But the Nurturing My Sword Style has never been passed on to outsiders.
"Later, I'll teach you the Nurturing My Sword Style. If you can quickly master that too and cultivate sword qi, I'll believe that you're a peerless genius. Then I'll recommend you to my father."
A blush rose on her pretty face, and her gaze drifted. She seemed both unwilling and deeply embarrassed.
"The first disciple I've ever taken is about to be taken away from me. I don't even know whether I should be happy."
"Don't worry, Master Yue. Even if you were only my Master Yue for one day, you'll always be my Master Yue."
Ji Shu replied seriously.
Yue Lingshan was easy to coax. He had to learn more from her.
Yue Buqun was a thousand-year-old fox. If he refused to teach him martial arts, Ji Shu would be left staring helplessly. Yue Lingshan was much more straightforward. She was willing to teach him a sword art like the Nurturing My Sword Style, which was clearly far superior to Mount Hua Swordplay, just like that!
Yue Buqun might not be willing to teach it.
So he needed to deal more with simple girls like Yue Lingshan and learn more martial arts from her.
Yue Lingshan had rarely ventured into the martial world, and her heart had not been tainted by the outside world. Moreover, everyone on Mount Hua had always indulged and pampered her, leaving her exceptionally naive. Hearing Ji Shu's words, she beamed with delight.
"Just for saying that, I'm going to teach you all the martial arts I've kept hidden away! Wait here. I'll go prepare first, then come back and teach you the Nurturing My Sword Style."
Yue Lingshan herself was not very proficient in the Nurturing My Sword Style.
She was afraid of embarrassing herself.
She decided to go back and review the Secret Manual before returning to teach Ji Shu.
At that moment, Ji Shu's stomach began to rumble. Seeing that Yue Lingshan was about to leave, he hurriedly said,
"Master Yue, is there anything to eat? I've been hungry for a long time."
Yue Lingshan turned to look at Ji Shu. Hearing the rumbling from his stomach, she broke into a smile, revealing two dimples.
"Then I'll take you to the kitchen for something to eat first."
"Thank you, Master Yue."
"That's what your Master Yue should do! No need to thank me!"
Yue Lingshan straightened her back and patted her chest. "If you run into any trouble on Mount Hua in the future, come find your Master Yue. Your Master Yue will take care of it!"
"Master Yue, you're really kind."
"Of course I am~"
Yue Lingshan smiled with her eyes. "Otherwise, how could I be your Master Yue?"
Tap, tap!
They chatted as they walked.
Yue Lingshan seemed to know Lightness Skill. Her steps were light, as if she were walking on the wind. She had been walking ever since leading Ji Shu up the mountain, yet after all this time, her face was not flushed and she was not out of breath. Ji Shu watched in secret envy. Yue Lingshan is simple-minded. I should agree with her and go along with her more. Once she has nothing left to teach me, I'll find a way to learn stronger martial arts.
After some time.
They arrived at the kitchen.
Looking around, Ji Shu saw no fewer than several dozen people tending fires and cooking. Yue Lingshan led him over to a young man, asked him to help look after Ji Shu, then ran off with quick steps. She wanted to review the Secret Manual, worried that Ji Shu would laugh at her if she performed poorly later.
Yue Lingshan was at an age when her pride was strong and she cared about saving face. That was perfectly normal.
Ji Shu held a large bowl as he ate.
The young man beside him was gnawing on a chicken leg. He pulled over a stool and sat beside Ji Shu, staring at him curiously.
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Ji Shu."
Ji Shu was starving. He wolfed down three huge bowls of rice and still felt hungry, so he filled another large bowl with meat. The young man clicked his tongue in amazement.
"Ji Shu, you really are a glutton. From now on, the title of glutton that belongs to me, Lu Dayou, ought to go to you instead."
He spoke as though they were already familiar.
"I'm Junior Sister's sixth senior brother. You can call me Sixth Martial Uncle, call me by my name directly, or even call me Sixth Monkey. I don't care about that sort of thing."
"Sixth Martial Uncle."
Ji Shu called out indistinctly as he happily ate.
He still felt that eating meat was more satisfying. After several bowls of meat, his hunger began to recede. Rice could ease his hunger too, but far too slowly; meat worked much faster. Clearly, meat contained more energy.
"You're still too reserved. That's no fun."
Lu Dayou took a bite of his chicken leg and said,
"I thought I'd found a kindred spirit. Looks like you're no different from the other players."
"What are the other players like?"
"They're all extremely respectful toward me. They all want me to teach them advanced martial arts. But they can't even learn Mount Hua Swordplay, and they still want to learn profound martial arts?"
At this point, Lu Dayou looked at Ji Shu with a face full of surprise.
"Now that you mention it, I find it strange. Junior Sister only knows how to play around. Whenever she feels like it, she gives players a little guidance, but becoming one person's master? That's truly unprecedented! She's so lazy—why would she think of taking you as her disciple? How did you convince her?"
"I met her two conditions?"
"Two conditions?"
Lu Dayou looked puzzled. "Don't you players only need to pay enough of a deposit to join?"
"..."
Ji Shu suddenly felt that meeting Yue Lingshan at the right time and place had been quite fortunate. Otherwise, he would most likely be crammed into a Big Common Bed with the other players right now, practicing the most basic introductory swordplay.
