Chapter 1989: Parasite

"Did you hear something?"

Inside the armored vehicle were Powell, several Reincarnators, and a squad of fully armed Self-Defense Forces soldiers.

There was no helping it. The county town was much larger and more complex than the US military base, so they had to make up the numbers with Self-Defense Forces personnel. Fortunately, they did not have their own signal interference this time.

Although they had deliberately cut off satellite signals and the internet, short-range radio communications remained unobstructed. They could receive support at any time if they ran into trouble.

So even though there were many separate teams and each one was not particularly strong, their lineup, scale, and ability to handle risks far surpassed before.

The armored vehicle's noise affected their hearing, but One-Eyes were still far more sensitive than humans.

Looking up at the window where the curtains had already blown outside, Powell knew that something had probably gone wrong.

He then nimbly led his Reincarnator team members to jump directly onto the second floor, while the Self-Defense Forces squad stood guard beside the armored vehicle with their guns. The vehicle-mounted machine gun was also on full alert, ready to call for support at any moment.

After entering the room and seeing the bloodstained hole in the floor and its irregular opening, Powell silently took out his radio and said,

"I think we've got trouble..."

"Damn it! How many people have they abducted already?"

"There are a lot of empty houses in my sector too. Every one I entered had signs of the sewers being broken open."

"It's hard to count, but at least ten thousand people have already been taken..."
