The Mass Effect's planetary scanning system was adjusting its patterns. Its enormous antenna array pointed from afar at the "Holy Land," already surrounded by the Unified Fleet yet still putting up fierce resistance and guarding countless secrets.

Baili Qing sat on the "Psychic Amplifier" specially built for her, struggling to temporarily set aside the complicated feelings stirring inside her.

A deep hum came from beneath the "throne." Part of the crystalline circuits connected to the platform began to glow faintly. Pleasant chimes echoed within the enormous ring-shaped structure floating above the entire hall. Then it slowly descended, hovering above the throne like a solemn halo.

A pair of illusory eyes slowly descended before the throne, and Baili Xue's voice drifted into Baili Qing's ears. "I'll wait for you in the real dimension..."

"Okay."

Baili Qing spoke softly, but before her voice had even faded, she had already closed her eyes.

The darkness lasted only a brief instant. In the next moment, all the Mass Effect's radars and antennas became extensions of her eyes—a pure-white dragon floated through space as consciousness, bathing in the distant starlight and the flashes of thousands of nearby cannon blasts.
