Background / History
Qian Du concealed her surname when she enrolled at Starry Sky Academy, introducing herself only as “Qian Du, from the Peacock Dynasty.” She studied in the Dragon Slaying Department alongside Li Mu Yang, Lin Cang Hai, Tie Mu Xin, Lu Qiji, and the other incoming students. Her identity as Ying Qian Du, the Peacock Dynasty’s eldest princess, remained hidden from most classmates at first 125 167 510.
She and Lin Cang Hai are cousins who grew up together. As the only daughter in her household, Qian Du regarded him as family; he consistently protected her during danger, while she was devastated when she believed he had died in the Water Illusion Realm 279 286.
Her father, Peacock King Ying Boyan, provided her with powerful artifacts and entrusted her with military authority at an unusually young age. The Glazed Mirror, formerly carried by her father, was given to Qian Du as a protective treasure 185.
Appearance
Qian Du is a strikingly beautiful young woman whose refined demeanor contrasts with the brutality of the conflicts she enters. Li Mu Yang describes her as the third most beautiful girl he has seen when they first meet 125.
- Smooth, jade-like skin and a soft, radiant complexion 125
- Long eyelashes and an orchid-like fragrance 140
- Usually composed and graceful in Starry Sky Academy’s flowing-cloud uniform 125
- Wears a ghost mask and white peacock feather when commanding the Ghost Dance Legion 510 814
- Wears white celestial-silk armor and a black cloak during campaigns 813
- Appears pale and physically weakened after surviving Xie Yue’s possession 874
Personality
Qian Du is intelligent, self-possessed, and attentive to other people’s needs. She treats Li Mu Yang’s family with warmth, takes responsibility for delivering their letters, and considers their safety even when she must leave Feng City to search for him 593.
She is also fiercely loyal. Qian Du accepts Li Mu Yang after learning he is a Dragon Clan member, protects him from human cultivators and military forces, and repeatedly places herself in danger for him 285 516 635 655.
Her compassion does not make her passive. She can be blunt, determined, and frighteningly resolute when Li Mu Yang is threatened; she promises to use her future authority to protect him and pursue those who harm him 627.
Possession and altered conduct
During the campaign at Dragon Suppression Abyss, Abyss Clan Great Priest Xie Yue infiltrates Qian Du’s body through disguised Ghost Dance herald He Long 814. While controlling her body, Xie Yue orders mass killings, starves prisoners, and drives the Peacock army through increasingly cruel campaigns; these acts earn Qian Du the name “Evil Dragon Princess” but conflict with her established benevolent character 816 820.
Xie Yue later reveals that she selected Qian Du because the princess’s purple qi and royal status made her a likely future co-ruler of the Divine Continent 820.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Starry Sky Academy
Qian Du meets Li Mu Yang in the Dragon Slaying Department and immediately expresses interest in becoming friends. Their closeness grows through shared classes, meals, expeditions, and mutual protection 125 245 544.
During the Water Illusion Realm expedition, she uses the Glazed Mirror to shield herself and others from lethal terrain. After witnessing Li Mu Yang’s Dragon transformation, she keeps his secret and recognizes that he transformed to save her 185 285 291.
Rescue of Li Mu Yang and Feng City
After Li Mu Yang is hunted as an “evil dragon,” Qian Du leads the Ghost Dance Legion into Xifeng territory to protect him. She confronts Song Lang, condemning the Xifeng Empire for crushing Li Mu Yang rather than safeguarding talent 510.
She then executes the plan to seize Feng City, rescue Li Mu Yang’s family, and secure the city for the Peacock Dynasty. Her success establishes her as both a capable commander and a major political ally to Li Mu Yang 539 540.
Kunlun Ruins and Divine Palace
Qian Du searches for Li Mu Yang after he heads toward Kunlun and reassures his family that she will help find him 592 593. In the Kunlun Ruins, she openly supports him despite his transformation and the hostility of human cultivators 627 635.
She gives Li Mu Yang the Peach Blossom Sword and publicly signals that she intends to introduce him to her father, making the Peacock Dynasty’s possible support for him a major concern for the human factions 667 671.
Xie Yue’s Possession
While leading the Peacock army at Dragon Suppression Abyss, Qian Du is attacked by Xie Yue’s black mist and becomes possessed 814. Xie Yue uses Qian Du’s body, authority, weapons, and artifacts to pursue an Abyss invasion and seize power over the Nine Nations 820 831.
Li Mu Yang refuses to harm Qian Du’s body even when Xie Yue attacks him, limiting his ability to fight the Great Priest 830 834. He ultimately injures Xie Yue’s Third Eye and destroys her primordial spirit, but the victory leaves Qian Du near death 836 845.

Qian Du survives after Li Mu Yang obtains half of a Kun Beast’s Crystal Soul, though her physical recovery remains incomplete 874. She nevertheless accompanies him when he returns to assist humanity against the Abyss threat 879.
After the Peacock Dynasty unifies the Nine Nations, Ying Boyan becomes Great Qin’s First Emperor and Qian Du ascends as Empress. She implements reforms to unify culture and governance, then announces her marriage to Li Mu Yang 907.
