Nature and Attainment

Ancient Grade marks a fundamental separation from Ancestor Grade. Ancient Ancestors may merge with their Internal Universes and attain immortality, but they remain bound by time; Ancient Grade beings can stand outside the River of Time and observe it directly. This difference prevents Ancient Ancestors from truly perceiving or opposing Ancient Grade existences on equal terms 484.

The first Ancient Grade cultivator of the Taiya Universe reportedly crossed the Cosmic River and named the universe after their own title. A Great Thousand Realm qualifies as a core realm when it produces an Ancient Grade existence; the Taiya Universe is stated to have at least three thousand such existences, with a later account placing the number at 3,600 430 458.

Dao Combination

Dao Combination is the stated method of entering the Ancient Grade. A cultivator combines with a Cosmic Dao, transforming it into an Ancient Dao—for example, the Cosmic Time Dao becoming the Ancient Time Dao 508.

• Requires Ancient Ancestor Grade cultivation, mastery of multiple Great Daos, and the ability to perfectly merge with one's own Dao 508.
• High-potential disciples are sought after because greater potential makes Dao Combination easier 508.

Ancient Dao is presented as the primary measure of an Ancient Grade cultivator's combat power, surpassing the importance of cultivation techniques and ordinary realm accumulation 509.

The Ancient Domain is the principal higher territory associated with Ancient Grade beings. It contains treasures and cultivation methods unavailable in the Taiya Universe, but also dangers capable of killing Ancient Grade experts 451 453.

• It is home to super-beings comparable to Ancient Grade cultivators, Ancient Grade beasts, destructive temporal-spatial currents, and regions where even Ancient Venerables may perish 451 551.
