After meeting Wang Dao Xuan, he joined him in investigating the Lu Family’s strange household disturbance, where they summoned the First Madam’s Living Soul back to her body.

• Li Yan and Hei Dan killed Blind Old Three, and the wolf’s corpse brought a dangerous Yin Wind that cracked Li Yan’s protective tablet.
• Widow Wang and Hu Sangu explained that the Cold Altar Rampaging Soldier was targeting Li Yan, and Hu Sangu turned three demon-suppressing coins into a saber tassel for him.

Li Yan returned to Li Family Fortress, lost his grandfather, and moved to Xianyang, where he defeated Zhou Bai in the Life and Death Arena. He concealed his recovery and waited for a chance to uncover the truth about the past as conflict gathered around him.

• Li Yan absorbed the ebony drumstick’s Heavenly Spiritual Treasure fortune, returned home, and later refined the Substitute Divine Statue into the Great Luo Dharma Body.
• Li Yan learned that Li Gui’s Divine Soul was failing, cared for him through his false resurgence, and buried him with help from Wang Dao Xuan, Sha LiFei, and the villagers.
• Li Yan and his companions went to Xianyang, joined the Spring Breeze Troupe’s effort to invite a god, and fought the Evil Beggars who tried to disrupt the ritual.
• Li Yan demonstrated Hidden Strength and accepted the Life and Death Arena challenge against Zhou Bai, while the Zhang family arranged the match and Sha LiFei placed a bet.

Li Yan and his companions sought Thunderstruck Jujube Wood, then became entangled in Chen FaKui’s scheme to seize Wang Dao Xuan’s Living Soul and sacrifice abducted children. The arc left Li Yan inside the tomb and Luo MingZi confronting Chen FaKui at the ritual altar.

• Li Yan, Sha LiFei, Wang Dao Xuan, and Zhao the Donkey retrieved Thunderstruck Jujube Wood from YeTai Mountain and returned to Shangyi Village, where Manager Wan warned them that Zheng Xianhuai’s household had been slaughtered.
• Li Yan rescued Zhu Zi and two other children from kidnappers, while Zhao the Donkey told him that Chen FaKui planned to seize the corrupted Mountain Tai Sui outside Xianyang.
• Chen FaKui used a wooden puppet and the Soul Calling Technique to seize Wang Dao Xuan’s Living Soul, and Zhou PeiDe was arrested as the city’s turmoil spread.
• Li Yan and Sha LiFei sought help from Wu Lao Si, who crossed into the Underworld to locate Wang Dao Xuan’s Living Soul and died after revealing that Chen FaKui and the abducted children were in an old tomb.
• Li Yan searched the tombs while Sha LiFei brought Wu Lao Si’s remains to the City God Temple and joined Luo MingZi and Zhao FaCheng to pursue Chen FaKui.

Li Yan investigated the Hook Writ, survived the attack on the mountain god’s ritual, and gained the Old Mountain God’s blessing before leaving Xianyang. On the road through Zhongnan Mountain, he uncovered the bandits’ threat to travelers and began hunting their hidden attackers.

• Li Yan exposed Zhou Pan’s role in his father’s past, but Zhou Pan was killed by a scarred young man who escaped with the Cockscomb Snake.
• Qing YangZi confirmed Li Yan’s Hook Writ was genuine, and Li Yan helped repel an attack on the mountain god’s ritual before pursuing intruders underground.
• Li Yan fought Chu Shan’s Maitreya Sect followers and used the Cloth Bag to absorb the Old Mountain God’s blessing, rekindling his third Life Flame.
• Li Yan left Xianyang with Wang Dao Xuan and Sha LiFei to escort Wu Lao Si’s coffin, following the Cold Altar Wandering Master’s visions toward the Qinling Mountains.

• Bandits attacked the funeral party at Changfeng Inn, and Li Yan defended the pallbearers while learning the garrison would not send troops.
• Lu Kang was murdered at Zhongnan Post, and when hidden archers attacked the gathered travelers, Li Yan sent Sha LiFei to protect them and vanished to hunt the attackers.
