Evening.

Lin Shuguang entered the restaurant under a staff member's guidance.

"Where's Director Si?" Having changed into a fresh set of clothes, he looked up at the lavish restaurant and asked casually.

"He's meeting the expert delegation from the Provincial Capital in the main hall," the staff member replied softly with a bow.

Lin Shuguang nodded. "Take me there."

After passing through a corridor guarded by the Hidden Sentries, Lin Shuguang was led into the open hall, where he saw Si Qianjun sitting at the head, with an elderly man dressed like a scholar beside him.

Several young people occupied the nearby seats.

Before Lin Shuguang could take a closer look, Si Qianjun spotted him and laughed heartily. "Here, Professor Wang, let me introduce you. This is the great scholar of our Huai City Special Management Bureau, Lin."

Lin Shuguang's calm expression nearly cracked. "..."

A scholar?

Since when was I a scholar?

Damn it, Director Si, don't set me up! I really suck at academic subjects!!!

Professor Wang turned at the sound.

When Si Qianjun stood, he immediately rose as well.

Lin Shuguang extended his hand first. "Professor Wang, a pleasure to meet you."

Professor Wang laughed heartily and reached out, shaking his hand firmly. "Likewise, likewise. Young Lin, you certainly are young and accomplished."

"Not at all. You flatter me, Professor Wang. I don't deserve such praise," Lin Shuguang said with a smile, though his face showed no sign that he considered it undeserved.

Professor Wang paused, then looked at Si Qianjun and laughed. "I heard a great prodigy had emerged in Huai City. If I'm not mistaken, this young friend must be him."

"Hmph!"

Just then, a disdainful snort came from among the seated young people.

Though it had not been deliberate, everyone present heard it clearly.
