| Profound Connection Realm / Mystic Profundity | 529 | His breakthrough is confirmed when Lin Shuguang congratulates him. The Governor had previously urged him to advance, but Si worried that entering seclusion would leave Huai City vulnerable. He is subsequently described as being at the realm’s initial stage, roughly comparable to the Qin Family’s Clan Elder 493 494 549. |
Background / History
Twenty years before his later discussions with Lin Shuguang, Si Qianjun had a reputation for causing upheaval in Huai City. After taking charge of the Special Management Bureau, he faced repeated attacks by Demonic Cultivators and Ferocious Beasts. Political Department officials helped the city survive those crises, leaving him with personal obligations that later complicated his dealings with their successors 417.
He also visited Spark Eleven twenty years before Lin Shuguang’s assignment there, carrying out an escort mission on its outskirts. The experience taught him that its beasts were substantially more dangerous and intelligent than those in their own world 628.
By the time he recruits Lin Shuguang, Si is an established Martial Dao senior with considerable influence. His reputation alone persuades Boss Wu to abandon a dispute involving Lin, while the Square-faced Section Chief reports an elder’s prediction that Si could eventually reach the top three of the Grandmaster Rankings 89 169 187.
Appearance
- Middle-aged appearance: Despite joking about his age, he is explicitly described as looking middle-aged 479.
- Usually out of uniform: He does not ordinarily require himself or his personnel to wear Bureau uniforms, but changes into formal uniform for an official frontline visit 466.
Personality
Si Qianjun fiercely protects his subordinates, especially Lin Shuguang. His support begins before Lin becomes influential: he destroys and replaces Lin’s file to conceal unusual opportunities that might attract dangerous attention. He later protects Lin’s family in secret and offers shelter even if Lin’s conflict with the Qin Family becomes public 63 415 478.
His loyalty to the Bureau is uncompromising, but his methods are politically calculated. He confronts Zhu Shaoqiang publicly while recognizing that the Governor has already distanced himself from the Zhu Family. Conversely, old favors, Martial Dao obligations, and factional backing sometimes prevent him from acting directly against troublesome officials 71 417 620.
He recognizes much of his younger self in Lin’s fiery temperament, while acknowledging that years within the system have worn away his own edge. Their private exchanges are frequently teasing: he scolds Lin’s shameless requests for resources, encourages him to balance cultivation with ordinary life, and reacts with exasperation to his increasingly rapid breakthroughs 454 465 478 562.
Abilities & Skills
Martial Combat
- Overwhelming striking power: Defeats Wei Xiangyi with a fist strike without summoning his Destined Soul; Wei cannot resist the attack 83 84.
- Single-strike execution: Abruptly closes the distance to a Black Robe Envoy of the Divine Temple and kills him with one punch 172.
- Force projection: Releases a shock wave that sweeps aside tables and chairs at Zhu Shaoqiang’s birthday celebration 71.
- Profound Connection pressure: Uses his realm’s aura to intimidate Qin Tianwen, forcing the Qin Family’s Clan Elder to intervene 548.
- Limitations: His initial-stage Profound Connection strength is insufficient against the Qin Family patriarch. He also fails to remove Xue Wuya’s sword intent from Liu Bai, suffering backlash severe enough to cough up blood three times 549 602.
Cultivation Knowledge and Guidance
- Bone-tempering theory: Explains that successive resonances create blood-energy mediums following a Fibonacci sequence 68.
- Foundation building: Advises Lin not to enter Viscera Refining prematurely and encourages him to achieve at least one hundred bone-tempering resonances 244.
- Cultivation resources: Secures a Hundred Resonances-level cultivation method for Lin through Qi Lin 286.
- Treatment assessment: Identifies how the imitation Soul Devouring Lock restricts Lin’s Destined Soul and leaves Huai City to seek assistance from senior veterans 215 220.
- Limits of knowledge: Acknowledges uncertainty over whether bone tempering can truly be perfected and directs Lin toward martial school for knowledge and resources beyond his own reach 68.
Bureau Leadership and Intelligence
- Operational command: Orders citywide action against Demonic Cultivators and appoints Lin to command the purge 196 222.
- Counterintelligence: Uses the Beining City resource dispute to expose disloyal personnel and orders Zhou Mojun monitored 436.
- Threat response: Places the Bureau on combat readiness to locate and destroy suspected spatial tunnels linked to corpse transformations 424.
- Intelligence coordination: Orders Fang Yuan to deploy White Dove and monitor Western forces 494.
- Political negotiation: Handles senior Political Department officials with practiced ease and negotiates access to the Hejian Sect’s legacy texts in exchange for assistance 457 466.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Sword: Wields a sword during the walking-corpse assault on Longhu headquarters 576.
- Special Management Bureau formal uniform: Worn for official ceremonial duties rather than everyday work 466.
- Medicinal supplies: Keeps medicine available for subordinates, including Golden Wound Medicine and the three Great Yuan Pills and five Wound Healing Pills he gives Lin before a dangerous departure 83 246.

- Zhu Shaoqiang — Senior whose birthday celebration becomes a confrontation over Lin and the Bureau’s dignity. Si refuses to let the Zhu Family’s ties to the Governor shield them from Great Xia’s laws 70 71.
- Wei Xiangyi — Adversary whom Si defeats for intruding into the Bureau and attempting to take Ye Tianhao away 83 84.
- Zhou Mojun — Bureau official whose conduct Si places under surveillance. Zhou’s powerful backing later limits Si’s ability to discipline him directly 436 620.
