The bald man took the collar and led the others onward, continuing to search for especially good hiding places.
In hide-and-seek, hiding was the mice's last resort. They had to prepare thoroughly.
Gaoxin ignored him and checked the time. It was twelve past two.
They had wasted several minutes on Meimei, the bald man, and their group. Gaoxin clicked his tongue and quickly led Sule through the rooms.
"There's a kitchen on the third floor too."
"Look, there's still food in the fridge."
"The roast chicken smells so good."
Drooling, Sule took all sorts of food from the refrigerator. There was roast chicken on the table, pizza, fruit, and all kinds of frozen meat and vegetables.
Gaoxin found some sliced bread in a cabinet. He immediately opened it and sniffed it. Nothing seemed wrong, so he started eating.
Ever since he had been judged and exiled, he had eaten very little.
He had been too distraught over how to clear his name to have any appetite.
After arriving on Sin Prison Island, he had not eaten a single grain of rice.
Now, hungry and thirsty, he saw that the food was fine and hurried to eat and drink his fill.
"We should eat more. Who knows whether those Wa people will feed us later?" As Sule spoke, he even packed some food and stuffed it into his pockets.
Gaoxin hurriedly stopped him. "Don't take any."
Sule froze. "Huh? We can't take the stuff here outside?"
"No. We still need to hide. Don't carry strongly scented things with you," Gaoxin said seriously.
Just then, Meimei walked in, grabbed some fruit, and started eating. "You really think everything through."
Seeing that she was still following him, Gaoxin did not say anything.
Sule took the food back out, wrapped it separately in a bag, and placed it on the table. "Got it. Then we'll come back for it when we leave."
After casually eating a little, Gaoxin immediately headed for the fourth floor.
However, at the top of the stairs leading to the fourth floor was a door.
The fourth floor was an attic with no hallway, and the door was locked tight. They could not get in at all.
"This is actually a security door. The area around it is reinforced too. There's no way we can smash it open," Sule said after examining it.
Gaoxin pondered for a moment. "Do you think a Radiation User could break it open?"
After thinking it over, Sule said, "Sasaki definitely could. You saw how that guy fought earlier. This door probably couldn't stop him."
"But it's hard to say about those four outside. Their fighting presence seems a level below Sasaki's. This door might be able to stop them."
Gaoxin nodded slightly. "Find the key, quickly!"
The two immediately turned back, only to see Meimei standing in the stairway with her arms crossed, smiling at them.
Sule did not understand. "If you want to follow us, then follow us. Don't block the way, beautiful."
Meimei smiled and held out her hand. There was a key pinched between her fingers. "You're the ones blocking me..."
Gaoxin was stunned, then stepped aside.
Meimei walked forward and quickly opened the security door...
The three filed inside, and Meimei locked the security door again behind them.
Sule asked in delight, "How do you have the attic key?"
Meimei rolled her eyes. "Of course I found it. It was in the bedside drawer of a master bedroom on the second floor. When I opened it, the key was sitting right inside."
"After I split up with you, I searched everywhere for something this key could open. When I came to the fourth floor and found that it worked here, I immediately went back to find you."
"So? Do you still want me following you now?"
Gaoxin had already checked the attic. There was nothing much inside, only some clutter and boxes piled up.
He had no time to search through the boxes. He immediately went to the attic window to look down and test the view.
Sure enough, the view was excellent. The attic had windows on all four sides, offering a full view in every direction around the mansion.
Gathered at the front window, they could overlook the entire front yard, including the area beyond the walls.
They could see four Radiation Users fighting fiercely outside the front gate!
Apparently, more things had happened during this time. A group of them had probably figured out the cat-and-dog mortal enemy situation, so the three had discussed joining forces against the silver-handed youth.
At this point, the silver-handed youth could no longer stay out of it. He was even being beaten quite badly.
"That guy deserves it. Look, he's been slashed so many times," Sule said with a laugh.
Gaoxin nodded. The silver-handed youth was facing three opponents alone and was in a miserable state, wounded all over and looking as though he might collapse at any moment.
As long as everyone understood the cat's situation in this game, such an outcome was perfectly normal.
For the old cat, the period before he could enter the yard was the hardest to endure, practically a nine-in-ten chance of death.
After all, the cat's final reward was enormous. This was the price he had to bear.
That was also why they had to wait until the very last moment before negotiating with the cat. There was a high chance that the silver-handed youth would not even survive long enough to enter...
The first twenty minutes, when anyone who was not a mouse was forbidden from entering, were for the strong to fight over who would become the cat.
"Wait here. Look for rope, or make some rope," Gaoxin said.
Everyone understood. This attic connected in all directions. Apart from the security door, they could climb down from any of the windows, which was extremely convenient.
So they definitely needed to prepare ropes in advance, just in case.
Before long, Sule found some folding tents with ropes and even pulleys attached, and immediately began dismantling them.
Then he complained, "This attic has everything except a clock."
"Mm." Gaoxin looked around but did not see a clock anywhere. He had no idea what time it was now.
It felt as if quite some time had passed. It should have been around twenty past two, but it was definitely still early, because the bald man had not gone to negotiate yet.
"This attic is built so securely and has routes in every direction. It's obviously a good place prepared for the mice, but the organizers wouldn't be kind enough to leave it completely without traps."
"The organizers deliberately did not put a clock here. The clocks on the other floors are huge and impossible to carry, and they can only be seen in particularly exposed, open places."
"This way, when mice hide too deeply, they lose track of time. And if they want to know the time, they have to risk leaving their hiding place and entering an open area."
Sule asked in confusion, "What's the point of that?"
Gaoxin shrugged. "People normally have no innate sense of time. In an enclosed space, without any reference for time and under intense mental strain, time feels as though it passes very slowly."
"That lures mice into leaving their hiding places before they should, exposing themselves to the old cat's view and increasing the risk."
Meimei looked at Gaoxin. "That's the slow-clock effect. Under stress, a person's heart rate and blood pressure rise, making time seem to pass more slowly. Also, people produce more dopamine in their brains under high stress, which sharpens their focus and their perception of their surroundings, making their sense of time slow down."
"I thought you never went to school. You actually know something like that?"
Gaoxin looked at Meimei in surprise. "You need to study that? Isn't that something anyone with a brain would know? Though I didn't know the principle you mentioned."
Meimei scratched her head. "Uh... fine, if you insist on putting it that way..."
"But your earlier plan wasn't something anyone with a brain could come up with... If you hadn't reminded me during this game, I would still have stupidly tried to negotiate with the dogs."
Gaoxin said calmly, "I'm not smart at all. I just try to consider every possibility when thinking through a problem and put myself in every perspective. In the end, it's just a matter of putting your heart into it."
"Putting your heart into it?" Meimei felt that answer was rather perfunctory.
Gaoxin said seriously, "Don't you know? It really is enough to put your heart into it. As far as I'm concerned, you're actually very smart. Your mind works quickly; you just don't put enough thought into things, so there are issues you never consider."
"And I'm very stupid. I have to think about a great many things before I can understand them."
For a moment, Meimei could not tell whether he was praising her or insulting her.
"What? Even after I told you that you could cooperate with the cat, you still couldn't figure it out?" Gaoxin asked.
Meimei said, "That wasn't the case. I understood the moment you said it."
Gaoxin nodded. "Then there you go. You're so smart. You just don't put your heart into it."
"..." Meimei had nothing to say.
After thinking for a moment, she sighed. "Why does your definition of smart feel different from everyone else's?"
To her surprise, Gaoxin answered bitterly, "Actually, many of my definitions are different from other people's."
"Since I was little, common sense that other children could blurt out was often something I had thought about for a long time before arriving at it, or even phrasing I had never thought of at all..."
Seeing that he seemed troubled, Meimei asked, "Why was that?"
Gaoxin sighed. "Since I was young, apart from teaching me to remember and abide by certain human emotions and moral principles, my father never taught me any knowledge. Even common sense that everyone else knew, he forced me to think through on my own."
"And afterward, he would not even tell me whether I was right or wrong. He only made me keep thinking and verifying things myself."
"If I couldn't think of it, then I had to put my heart into it—my true heart—and keep thinking! So even now, I'm used to quietly observing and considering all kinds of possibilities."
"But I really am stupid. How could I possibly think of every possibility?"
"So when I later went to study at the community school, I was always near the bottom of the class. I simply could not keep up with the others. The teacher spoke very quickly, and even a casual sentence sounded like heavenly scripture. Yet all the other students understood, as if they shared some secret code."
"But I was foolish and didn't understand. I often had to spend several times, even dozens of times, the effort just to figure out what the teacher had been explaining in class."
Meimei was dumbfounded. That was far too pitiful.
His understanding of so many things really was different from everyone else's. Since childhood, he had lacked common sense that humanity took for granted. When others spoke, it was as though they came with their own codebooks, while he alone had none.
How much effort must Gaoxin have spent to catch up and be able to speak like an ordinary person now? Just thinking about it made her heart ache.
Then Meimei said angrily, "What kind of father was that? He was far too irresponsible! He had a child but refused to teach him properly!"
"What does a child know? Don't children need adults to guide them? What did he do for a living? He did not even teach you common sense. Of course you couldn't keep up in school."
Gaoxin said, "He was called a Cyber Wizard. He was the most knowledgeable person in the entire community."
"What? He was actually a Cyber Wizard?" Meimei froze.
Cyber Wizards were people who still persisted in preserving humanity's technological system. Long ago, they had been called scientists.
Of course, the strongest AI, Ran Di, had invented one product after another that humans considered impossible, proving that human technology had entered a dead end and had no future.
Even something as minor as Cold Fusion had been studied by groups of human scientists for decades, yet they could not understand even its surface. That alone said enough.
Ran's technology was like something indescribable. Its principles could not be taught, because humans simply could not understand them.
According to Ran, humanity had already reached its own limit, just as the minds of apes from two million years ago could never understand higher mathematics.
Such a reality broke many scientists. They could not accept that their pursuit of truth could only go this far and no further.
Some simply gave up and accepted the fate that "humanity cannot understand truth; technology only needs to be usable, and only Ran knows the principles."
But others refused to give up, much like ancient shamans unwilling to be abandoned by the times.
They went everywhere, influencing people, hoping humanity would not abandon its own science.
Upholding the scientific spirit, they kept trying to decipher AI technology, hoping to restore humanity's former glory.
Of course, they had not achieved any major breakthroughs to this day.
They remained nothing more than inheritors of old human knowledge and technology, and users of AI technological products.
Meimei looked at Gaoxin. She had not expected his father to be a Cyber Wizard.
Although the outside world looked down on the knowledge of Cyber Wizards, it was still useful to a certain extent. It was the technological system humanity had once established, and it often worked quite well. It merely failed again and again when faced with AI technology.
Now, on this island, the main struggle was between people. Cyber Wizard knowledge would have its uses too. It was probably a type of person second only to Radiation Users.
Meimei immediately asked curiously, "So did he teach you?"
Gaoxin shook his head. "No. Until he died of illness, he never taught me a single piece of Cyber Sorcery."
"What kind of shitty father was that? You weren't his biological child, were you?" Meimei snapped. What his father had done to Gaoxin felt no different from child abuse.
Unexpectedly, Gaoxin's expression changed. He shot her a sidelong glance and stopped speaking entirely.
Meimei knew she had misspoken. She thought that perhaps he really was not his biological child, and she might have struck a painful nerve. She immediately said no more.
The three fell silent for a while.
Sule smiled and tried to smooth things over. "All right, weren't we talking about the clock? Even if the two hours are up, no one said we have to leave immediately. If this place is really that safe, I can hide for three hours if I have to!"
Meimei followed with a smile. "Maybe you think three hours have passed, when really it has only been a little over an hour."
"There's no sun here to use as a reference, and no clock. If we want to confirm the time, we can only rely on the wall clocks on the first, second, and third floors."
"Of course, if we can truly stay hidden for a very, very long time, then it doesn't matter."
"This little design only increases our psychological tension, making us stay longer and suffer more."
Gaoxin's face returned to calm as he said evenly, "For mice, hiding is only the absolute baseline for survival!"
"If we rely only on hiding, we'll be too passive. Once it comes to that, life and death will be out of our hands. It's practically despair."
Meimei gave a bitter smile. "And when the mice have no options left, they can only hide in dark corners in despair, listening to the old cat's hunting footsteps. The fear of not knowing when they will die, or when the game will end... that is probably exactly what the powerful enjoy watching."
Sule cursed, "Those powerful people are real perverts."
Just then, the three saw figures rushing toward the front gate and quickly stood straight to look down.
"They're here. After all that time, it's only twenty past two? No, it should still be two or three minutes short," Sule muttered. It really had felt as though a long time had passed, yet so little time had actually gone by.
The ones who ran over to negotiate were the bald man and Cao Yang.
The bald man chattered away and gestured wildly. He was clearly rapidly explaining the mice's proposal to the four people locked in battle.
The people in the attic could not hear him clearly, but the silver-handed youth soon said, "Hahaha, good! The cat and mice both win, and it saves me trouble."
"I'll give you credit for coming up with that. No problem, I agree. I guarantee I won't set a single foot inside the mansion."
The silver-handed youth agreed decisively, his voice booming as though he deliberately wanted everyone in the building to hear.
This made Gaoxin frown slightly.
But Meimei and Sule were delighted. "Great! He agreed!"
The bald man was overjoyed too. He and Cao Yang acted extremely humble and thanked him repeatedly.
But this enraged the other three, especially the two without identities. Their lungs were probably about to burst with anger.
Their lives had just been decided like that! By a group of mice!
They had sent those mice inside to look for collars, yet the mice refused to cooperate with them and instead cooperated with the cat. How could they not be furious?
"You still want to go inside? I'll kill you!" The burly knife-wielding man called Brother Dong Can attacked even more savagely, using utterly desperate tactics.
"And those mice too!" The short masked man also went mad, flinging dart after dart. Aside from coordinating with Brother Dong Can, he showed no restraint whatsoever.
Several darts were even deliberately thrown through the front gate.
However, the bald man and Cao Yang were clever too. They had anticipated that the dogs would go mad and might drag them into it, so they had chosen an excellent position. They stood close to the side of the gate, in a blind spot for those outside.
Now that the matter was settled, they looped around and ran back to the mansion, quickly hiding in the places they had found earlier. From beginning to end, they never exposed themselves to those people's attack range.
"Ahhh!" The people outside were anxious and furious, but there was nothing they could do. They still focused most of their efforts on the silver-handed youth.
They fought desperately to kill him!
But the silver-handed youth only defended and dodged.
Though he was severely injured, he held on through sheer grit.
Suddenly, he blocked a heavy axe strike with both arms and was sent flying backward. The instant he landed, he rolled into the yard.
"Hahahaha!" He laughed wildly. He had not been instantly killed, because twenty minutes had already passed since the game began. He had endured the hardest stretch.
"Assi!" Brother Dong Can saw the hateful smile on his face and wished he could rush into the courtyard and kill him.
The short masked man clung tightly to Brother Dong Can's leg, seemingly telling him not to act impulsively.
But Brother Dong Can could not hold back. He directly threw his knife, shooting it toward his target.
The silver-handed youth had clearly reached his limit. He could not even dodge that knife and could only raise his hand to block it.
But he deflected it, or rather, he still failed to block it completely.
The long knife carried tremendous force as it stabbed forward. It slid across the silver bracer, shifted aside slightly, and still plunged into the youth's abdomen!
Blood poured out.
Brother Dong Can said something to his companion, but the short masked man merely shook his head. It seemed that even his throwing darts had been damaged.
Seeing this, the silver-handed youth stood up and shouted, "Come on, keep going! Why did you stop? Come in and kill me!"
His brazen provocation infuriated the people outside.
Big Beard held the Mechanical Giant Axe and boomed, "Just you wait! In ten minutes, I'll go in and chop you into eight pieces!"
The silver-handed youth laughed. "Hahaha, is that so? Worry about surviving first."
Big Beard froze at those words. Thinking of something, his expression changed, and he hurriedly turned around just as Brother Dong Can launched a vicious elbow strike.
He could not dodge in time. His neck took the heavy blow head-on, and with a crack, the bone snapped.
Big Beard hurriedly swung his axe to force the enemy back. Clutching his neck, he staggered backward again and again before dropping onto the ground.
His vital spot had suffered a devastating blow, but he was not dead. One hand gripped his own neck as though he were trying to set it back into place.
Brother Dong Can had not expected that strike to fail to kill him. His face filled with regret. He never should have thrown away the long knife in his hand.
Otherwise, if he had used the knife for that blow just now, Big Beard's head would definitely have been separated from his body!
But the other man was seriously injured, so there was still a chance. He shouted and charged together with the short masked man, determined to kill Big Beard.
Big Beard was dizzy and barely managed to stand and swing his axe, but his moves were clearly in disarray, and his accuracy had fallen drastically.
The two men on the other side joined forces and gained a huge advantage.
Still, the Mechanical Giant Axe really was formidable. Neither of them had a weapon, and they were severely constrained when facing that giant axe.
"Trash!" the silver-handed youth inside the gate cursed.
Then he actually reached down, pulled the knife out of his abdomen, and threw it back!
"Catch!"
Brother Dong Can caught the knife and shot the silver-handed youth a vicious glare before wildly slashing at Big Beard.
The three people in the attic stared wide-eyed at the sight, marveling at how ruthless the silver-handed youth was.
Just as Old Cat's entry time arrived, the situation changed in an instant.
There was only one collar left outside. Naturally, the other two would turn their blades on Big Beard and fight him to the death.
"This guy can't wait for Big Beard to die. He even pulled the knife out of his wound just to hand them a weapon..." Sule gritted his teeth.
Meimei said, "Of course. Even if those two brothers kill Big Beard, only one of them can survive."
"The silver-handed youth would naturally be happy to see that."
Sule was stunned. "If Big Beard dies and seriously injures the two of them before he dies, or simply takes one of them down with him, then the cat will have it made."
Gaoxin and Meimei both nodded. That would mean that even if the mice delivered the collar, at most two severely wounded, crippled dogs—or one dog—could enter.
If they did not deliver the collar, then there would definitely be only one dog.
And every one of those outcomes had been created by the silver-handed youth himself.
From the very beginning, this guy had understood how the cat game should be played. By himself, he had created a huge advantage, while the mice had barely helped at all.
At that moment, Silver Hand was Old Cat. He had entered the courtyard, and what came next depended on his attitude.
Everyone watched intently without blinking, constantly observing the changing situation.
It was probably not just the three of them in the attic. The bald man was likely observing in secret somewhere in this building as well.
"That guy really is sitting on the lawn and not coming inside." Sule said excitedly.
They watched for quite a while, yet the silver-handed youth did not move. After taking some medicine, he remained seated cross-legged in the courtyard.
This was exactly as agreed with the mice: he would only stay in the courtyard and would not enter the mansion.
Meimei was excited too. "It worked. He's too badly injured, so naturally he doesn't want to create more trouble."
"He needs to conserve his strength now to deal with the dog that will come in ten minutes later."
Sule snorted. "He's getting off too easy. He can just sit there and earn Redemption Vouchers. I really hope the dog comes in later and kills him."
Gaoxin calmly said, "If he is killed by the final dog, then that final dog will become the cat. And he'll be the only strong person left in the entire game, with no opponents."
"That would be even worse. Maybe the new cat would not bother collecting payment afterward and would just want to kill us for the reward."
"After all, the only strong one left would be an invincible lone survivor. He would have all the time in the world to play with us, like a cat toying with mice."
Sule thought that made sense. At that point, it would be true Cat Catches Mouse.
Although he desperately wanted the youth dead, the youth really could not die just like that.
A cat and a dog restraining one another was the best situation for the mice.
"Whew..."
About three or four minutes later, the silver-handed youth suddenly opened his eyes and stood up.
He stretched his limbs and even hopped around a little, as though his injuries were not that serious anymore.
The three people in the attic widened their eyes. "What? Such serious injuries, and he's already mostly fine?"
It had to be said that every Radiation User on the island was built like iron.
This guy was not as badly injured as Tianshe, and he had taken medicine, so it was not strange that he could still fight.
By contrast, the three outside were all mangled and bloody, nearly fighting at their limits.
Big Beard in particular was being attacked by the two brothers. He was already gravely wounded and on the verge of death. He would probably die outside before long.
The silver-handed youth glanced at the situation beyond the gate, sneered, and then shifted his gaze to the mansion.
His eyes were full of amusement as he walked straight toward it!
"What!" The three in the attic were shocked.
No way, no way?
Old Cat was practically guaranteed to win, yet he was still going to break the agreement and charge into the mansion to kill them?
Everyone held their breath. Suddenly, the silver-handed youth stopped and turned back around.
Everyone let out a breath of relief, thinking that perhaps he had merely been trying to scare them.
But Gaoxin did not dare lower his guard and stared intently.
The silver-handed youth laughed. "I almost forgot. There's a little mouse right here."
He walked over to the bushes beside the courtyard gate, tilted his head, and smilingly reached in to drag a person out.
"It's that guy who was hiding by the entrance earlier, trying to hide in plain sight!" Sule cried in shock.
Meimei swallowed. "Using that kind of trick, he could only gamble that after Old Cat passed the entrance, he would not easily come back."
"But Old Cat has an agreement with us, and he treated his injuries and rested in the courtyard for so long. No matter what, he should have noticed the person hiding there."
Sule nervously asked, "What is this guy doing? Didn't he promise to spare the mice's lives? What else does he want?"
The mouse caught at the gate asked the very question they wanted to ask.
This man had been hiding there for a long time, so he had naturally heard the terms of the negotiation when the bald man came over.
Now that he had been dragged out, he was terrified out of his wits and screamed himself hoarse, "Boss! Boss! What are you doing? Didn't we agree that you would spare the mice? After it's over, I'll give you 90 Redemption Vouchers!"
Hearing this, Meimei in the attic exclaimed, "What? Ninety points? What's going on?"
Gaoxin was not surprised. He sighed. "This was why the bald man insisted on negotiating himself. I could already tell when he kept asking me so many questions before..."
"He wanted to keep some Redemption Vouchers for himself too..."
Meimei was speechless. Slaves like them fought desperately yet could not save even a single Redemption Voucher. They would struggle forever, unable to change their fate, until they died...
But if the bald man had the ability to negotiate the price down to ninety points, he could later claim to the Wa people that Old Cat had taken all the rewards and keep ten points for himself.
"Is he crazy?" Even Sule knew how risky that was. It was practically guaranteed to fail! He was only gambling that the cat was too badly injured and would rather earn a little less to save himself the trouble.
He cried out in frustration, "He's insane! We already agreed to give him everything, and he still dares to take a cut when the mice are negotiating with the cat!"
Gaoxin narrowed his eyes. "Because he is too selfish."
"Either he is a veteran, and the Wa people ordered him to bring out at least a few Redemption Vouchers or else he would die anyway, so he decided to gamble."
"Or... he found an excellent place to hide, so he planned to try bargaining."
Meimei cried out in surprise, "You mean he found a hidden area?"
Gaoxin coldly said, "That is the only explanation."
"From his perspective, if it works, he is guaranteed to live and gets an extra ten points."
"If it fails, it does not matter. He still has a good chance of surviving until the end by hiding, and then getting a hundred-point reward."
The two of them immediately understood. The bald man was using this negotiation opportunity to add another layer of insurance for himself. If it failed, he could just pretend the negotiation never happened. Either way, he did not lose out, because he had already found the best hiding spot.
Sule shouted, "But this has screwed all of us over! Every mouse has to pay for what he did!"
The people in the attic knew very well how great Old Cat's advantage was now. Silver Hand had achieved it all himself, and the mice had very little leverage in negotiations. Yet the bald man still wanted to bargain down ten points. He was practically courting death.
But he was not courting his own death... He was courting the death of the other mice...
"That bastard! What do we do now? Should we find the bald man and ask where the hidden area is?" Sule asked anxiously.
Meimei gritted her teeth. "If the bald man had been willing to share, he would have said so when he questioned Gaoxin. Since he took over the negotiation, he must have already found the hidden area."
Sule angrily said, "But he did not say anything, damn it! The cat has already come in. Who would dare negotiate now?"
Meimei stared at the scene. "The person Silver Hand caught still has a chance to renegotiate."
Gaoxin neither agreed nor disagreed and continued watching the situation.
Meimei glanced at Gaoxin. She had noticed that Gaoxin had said earlier that "the bald man wanted to keep some Redemption Vouchers for himself too." What did that "too" mean?
Gaoxin noticed her looking at him, glanced back, and said nothing.
Meimei did not press the matter and turned back toward the scene.
The silver-handed youth burst out laughing. "A bunch of idiots. If I kill you, I get a hundred points. Why would I earn ten points less?"
The captured man trembled and hurriedly said, "It was that bald man who wanted to hold back ten points! I wanted to give you everything, everything! Don't kill me. I'll give you a hundred, don't kill me."
The silver-handed youth sneered. "Can you give me two hundred points?"
"Huh?" The man was dumbfounded. "I don't have Redemption Vouchers, Boss! I have to survive until the end and get the reward before I can give them to you... I wouldn't dare refuse. If I don't give them to you, you can just chop me to death during settlement."
The silver-handed youth laughed loudly. "Whether I kill you or spare you, I get a hundred points. So why would I not choose to kill you?"
"Huh?" The man was completely stunned.
At the same time, all the mice inside the mansion who had been secretly watching outside were dumbfounded as well.
What kind of monster was this? Wasn't a normal person's thought supposed to be, If killing him gets me a hundred and sparing him gets me a hundred, then why kill him?
Yet the silver-handed youth had completely reversed it. He actually thought, Since the profit is the same anyway, why not choose to kill him?
"Damn it, he's a monster!" Sule clawed at his hair in agitation.
Meimei trembled. It was over. They had encountered the worst possible situation!
They had encountered a madman whose attitude was, I just want to hunt mice!
What kind of freaks were on this island?
