Background / History
Gaoxin first appeared as a Glass Person forced into the Redemption Game. From the outset, he treated survival as a wager rather than an end in itself, taking command of the other Glass People and identifying weaknesses in the game’s rules. During Dog Catches Mouse, he killed Silver Hand and the bald man, exposed the mansion clock’s deliberate one-minute discrepancy, and persuaded the surviving players to pool their redemption vouchers rather than kill one another. 22
After entering the Redemption Squad, he became captain of Team 09 and developed Imaginary Training, a mental method that rapidly strengthened his body. Dongfang Yi later taught him the thirty-six healing acupoints, allowing Gaoxin to develop a self-treatment method for physical recovery and Mental Power restoration. 33 39
Following his transformation from Glass Person to Radiator, Gaoxin discovered that his genes could shift between Glass Person and Class N Radiator readings. He chose to conceal the anomaly, adopt the identity of Taishui, and pursue strength by breaking limits rather than accepting a fixed radiation classification. 83 84
He eventually founded and led the Great Spirit Society, gathering survivors, former Glass People, Radiators, and allied factions. His growing influence in the Death Hills led him to openly identify himself as “Taishui Gaoxin,” president of the organization. 207 383
Much later, Gaoxin lost his human body in battle with Long Qi and existed through his soul and matrix consciousness. He ultimately recreated his original human form through Self Life Leap, then continued evolving beyond conventional human and Apostle limits. 487 496
Appearance
Gaoxin’s appearance changes repeatedly due to his genes, combat transformations, and Life Leap. He is initially described as gaunt despite being 1.82 m tall, but can alter his visible build and later develops increasingly non-human battle forms. 85
- Initially 1.82 m tall and only 40 kg after shedding a layer of skin. 85
- Reached 182 cm and 100 kg during early physical training. 39
- Can alter facial features and body presentation through chromatophores and complete metamorphosis. 85 271
- Activated Exoskeleton can enlarge him beyond three meters and produce the Four-armed Asura Form. 167
- In non-human combat state, can assume multi-headed, multi-armed weapon forms optimized solely for battle. 233 264
- Later attained a nine-meter Emperor’s Body with neutron-star-level intensity. 631
Personality
Gaoxin is calculating, fearless, and intensely committed to self-improvement. He studies rules, opponents, and social dynamics before acting, but is willing to stake his life whenever a greater outcome is possible. His refusal to choose “mediocre” survival strategies becomes a defining trait in the Redemption Games. 22 58 126
Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies, he repeatedly protects weaker people. He spared fellow Glass People, refused audience pressure to kill NPCs, freed surviving NPCs, and spent more than 100 million redemption vouchers strengthening his teammates. 22 58 59 328
He values loyalty and directness. Gaoxin repeatedly risks himself to rescue Dongfang Yi, Luo Yan, Sule, and others, while refusing recruitment or alliances that demand blind submission. 99 123 126
Abilities & Skills
Universal Genes
Gaoxin’s unstable genes can learn and integrate Gene Modules after exposure to their users or genetic material.
- Can register as different radiation types; his genes can switch between Glass Person and Class N Radiator states. 84
- Learns modules by observing or obtaining an opponent’s blood. 90 95
- Possesses all Class N and Class R modules, alongside numerous SR and SSR modules. 215
- Can adapt his body into different biological forms, including animals and non-human combat bodies. 271 505
Imaginary Training
A private mental training method through which Gaoxin simulates combat, physical conditioning, and skill practice.
- Rapidly improves physical strength and combat capability. 33
- Consumes Mental Power, which can be recovered through sleep and acupoint stimulation. 39
- Allows sparring with internal personalities such as Silver Hand. 87 164
- Is difficult for others to understand or replicate; Zero Kill failed to fully learn it. 164
Dark Logic Combat Method
Gaoxin’s signature combat principle, based on unpredictable, unconventional reasoning and exploiting opponents’ blind spots.
- Enables combat awareness described as surpassing legendary human limits. 264
- Cannot be fully modeled or learned by Themis, whose simulations lacked the human “dark logic” element. 265
- Supports irregular weapon usage, multi-arm combat, and rapidly improvised tactics. 233 242
- Cannot be directly taught; Gaoxin can only pass on derivative results. 589
Organ Overclocking
A burst technique that forces higher physical output through escalating stages.
- Reached Three-stage Overclocking while training others through life-or-death pressure. 123
- Developed Six-stage Overclocking after learning from Yunzhong Tianyi’s blood. 199
- Uses Overclocking together with equipment and regeneration to challenge opponents above his nominal level. 186 200
Activated Exoskeleton
A biological armor-like Gene Module that develops alongside Gaoxin’s body.
- Forms protective armor and can produce extra limbs. 167
- Allows the Four-armed Asura Form and later more extreme multi-armed combat states. 167 233
- Silver Hand can assist in controlling the exoskeleton independently. 167 168
- Grants increasing burst coefficients as it evolves. 167 251
Mental Power and Mind Palace
Gaoxin’s Mental Power supports internal personalities, perception, virtual constructs, and later reality-altering techniques.
- Created personalities including Silver Hand, Wei Lan, Ark, and an imagined Themis. 199 270 330
- Uses internal personalities to divide thought processes and combat tasks. 168 264
- Developed mental communication and mental scanning methods for others. 589
- Eventually attained unlimited Mental Power and distorted reality through cognition. 689
Quantum Ghost
An SSR module allowing Gaoxin to pass through matter.
- Learned from Rou Si after reviving her. 199
- Enables quantum tunneling through objects and underground travel. 199 381
- Consumes substantial energy during prolonged use. 381
Bio-field and Dimensional Techniques
Gaoxin develops his Bio-field from basic combat applications into transdimensional and quasi-saint-level control.
- Uses bio-energy for invisible Avatar Attacks and projected sword gleams. 151 157
- Developed a four-dimensional Bio-field while still at Elephant Level. 497
- Invented the Transcendental Dimensional Combat Method, fighting with four-dimensional effects while remaining three-dimensional. 554
- Expanded his Bio-field infinitely after becoming a Quasi-Saint. 678
