Luis clenched his fists. So Sophia had never intended to kill him—she had planned to cripple him instead.
He roared furiously, "Beat me until I'm on the verge of death?"
"Who do you think you are? If you hadn't ambushed me, you wouldn't have been my opponent at all!"
"Bitch! Three times—you've stabbed me in the back three times!"
"Even if I die, I won't help you vote!"
Sophia unleashed her full firepower, steam billowing around her. "I don't need your help with voting! I only need to be able to fight without worries!"
"Forcing Gaoxin to kill all the Black Players only benefits you. It isn't necessary for me."
"Let him keep the Black Players alive. With our factions locked in, I'll still have the advantage of full health!"
"But you want to throw away my advantage. So what do I need you for?"
"You're not going to vote anyway, so what use are you? I might as well beat you half to death! Otherwise, as long as you remain a threat, I'll never dare fight!"
Her words made perfect sense.
From Sophia's perspective, breaking Gaoxin's plan would bring her no benefits.
Not only would it lower the Black Faction's health, but she would also have to guard against Luis stabbing her in the back. And with Luis around, she definitely wouldn't dare fight.
By contrast, eliminating the threat Luis posed would free her from all those concerns.
The game would become much simpler for Sophia.
The Black Base still had five drops of health. Even if Luis refused to vote every round and had zero defense, it could still withstand ten rounds!
During those ten rounds, Sophia only needed to take two drops of health from the opposing side!
Of course, the key was being able to fight.
