Elliot Hall was filled with the distinctive scent of ink, parchment, and ancient books mingling together.

"There are three lectures every week, two hours each. Personally, I don't like attendance points, and I don't like wasting time checking attendance. People need to trust one another. However, Professor Bronk, the previous course leader before I arrived, already set attendance at ten percent of the final grade. So this semester, I'll still take attendance once as a formality. I'll also delete everyone's previous attendance records and start the attendance record over from scratch."

Lanchi shifted his gaze from the ancient books to the nearby student roster, looking over the results of the attendance checks conducted earlier this semester.

Seeing that some students had already lost attendance points, he found it difficult to bear letting them lose one or two points just like that.

After all, the final examination only accounted for fifty percent of the final grade. Those attendance points were quite significant and could affect whether their final grade was high enough to receive the top rating.

Quite a few students smiled. It seemed that this professor was a good-natured man who took a relaxed approach and basically didn't care whether students attended or not.

That meant they no longer had to waste their precious research time coming to class on so many days. Everyone sitting there was a proud imperial genius in Magical Engineering, and none of them believed that such a young professor could be much better than them.

It seemed that not only would the pass rate for this semester be quite high, but they might even have a chance of obtaining an excellent GPA in the end.
