Background

Talia is the last princess of the fallen Demon Race kingdom. After its destruction, she spent years wandering through human kingdoms under disguise, lacking a legal identity and viewing humans with deep suspicion. Although she appeared to be a destitute gray-haired refugee, her strength was already formidable, and she possessed an intense desire to restore her people and homeland 1 8.

She first became involved with Lanchi Wilford after he brought down her Dark Dove familiar. In the original course of events, his predecessor's insults would have provoked her into retaliating against him; instead, Lanchi sought her out, offered protection and a legal human identity, and hired her as a secret guard for his journey to Ikelite 1 12. Their contract expanded when she agreed to teach him Card Making, initially through Tier 2 and later through Tier 4, in exchange for useful records and research material from the Shadow World 12 91.

While reviewing Lanchi's Shadow World recording, Talia recognized Hughberlian's resemblance to her missing younger sister, Ifatia. She later confirmed that Hughberlian was Ifatia's daughter, sheltered her from an assassin, and gradually formed a protective maternal bond with her 93 181 183. Hughberlian eventually learned Talia's true identity and acknowledged her as her most important family 524.

Talia reunited with Ifatia after a century when she confronted the hidden leader of the Bulida Mafia. The sisters recognized each other through their matching magic and reconciled after their initial clash 760 761.

Following her merger with the Poet of Great Love, Talia became Lanchi's Lifebound summoned creature and a Demon King. Their lives and magic became closely linked: Talia can draw upon Lanchi's cards and mana, while Lanchi must manage the considerable cost of sustaining her at full strength 655 656.

She is proud of her royal background and her professional ability as a Card Maker. Her teaching can be patient and precise, but only so long as her student follows her instructions; she favors the Demon Race's demanding, high-pressure approach to training 92. She is also highly vengeful and reacts strongly to perceived insults, threats to her family, or attempts to manipulate Lanchi 2 694.

Behind her self-control, Talia has an enormous appetite and a particular weakness for refined desserts.
