A full moon hung high above Hassel Port, its cold light spilling across the tranquil river and glimmering with faint crimson sparks.
This was the moat harbor southeast of the capital, Bulida.
In the distance from Hassel Port stood the Bulida Mafia's headquarters, publicly registered as a company.

The buildings along the shore loomed in the night. Several figures appeared by the harbor, passing through layers of elite Mafia guards. Amid the Mafia members' salutes, they arrived before the tallest black building.
"For the next hour, don't let any officers enter above the second floor of the Hassel Building. Wait outside."
The leader wore a deep-black coat. His hood trembled faintly in the night wind, shadows concealing most of his face and revealing only a pair of coldly gleaming eyes.
"Yes."
His steps were light and nimble. With him leading the way, none of the Mafia members dared hesitate. He took several people through the shadows cast by the building, his figure almost impossible to catch.
When a ray of moonlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows illuminated him again, it finally revealed his rugged, handsome face. Deep-gray hair hung over his forehead.
Professor Landry and his two students followed behind Barton.
They had put on the animal masks Barton had given them.
This was to prevent other Mafia members from seeing Professor Landry come to their headquarters.
After only a few steps inside the building, they no longer saw any other Mafia members.
Barton quickened his pace. Inside the building, deep-yellow floor lamps cast long, eerie shadows behind them.
"This is the Hassel Building, the main headquarters of the Bulida Mafia. Only the boss, officers, and certain authorized members may enter."
