The emergence of the Micro-worm System was merely the accidental discovery of a gluttonous mage. He had found the flesh carpet formed by the Ancient Demons' tower nests extremely unusual and thought it was cheap to produce. Perhaps it could replace meat.
After researching it for several decades, however, he achieved nothing.
That was because those flesh carpets were collections of countless tiny life-forms, commonly known as micro-worms, completely beyond the scope of his knowledge.
The research institute he founded consumed huge amounts of funding and was even placed on the Magic Council's closure list.
After accidentally discovering it, Suye found the field interesting. He knew how powerful viruses and bacteria were, and in a sense, some micro-worms might be older than the gods.
Thus, Suye provided funding and assigned more personnel.
Even Suye had not expected that, another hundred years later, after research by multiple generations of mages, the principles and power of micro-worms would finally become clear. They even discovered the secret of micro-worm symbiosis with the Ancient Demons—a secret earlier mages had failed to notice.
The Ancient Demons' power was closely linked not only to their bodies and Ancient Demon power, but also to the micro-worms within them.
