It had all begun with his deep dissatisfaction with the legion's current state and his decision to whip it back into shape. First, he had given Knight Seberg, the legion commander who had hurried back upon hearing the news, a blistering dressing-down and ordered him to stand aside and await punishment. Then he had ordered the assembly horn sounded, intending to summon all the White Lion Legion soldiers who had gone out to work.
Yet even after three blasts of the horn and more than half an hour of waiting, only a dozen or so soldiers had sauntered back. They kept grumbling about who had been bored enough to sound the assembly horn and interrupt their efforts to earn a living for their families... Furious, the Second Prince had berated them and told them to get out at once...
As members of one of the new Krissen Empire's two regular legions, soldiers of the White Lion Legion enjoyed tax concessions for their families and a higher social standing. This was something the Second Prince had learned from the Norton Family's generous treatment of its own soldiers.
