Early career and Antinak succession

During the Krissen Empire's succession war, the Second Prince led the White Lion Legion and Gale Legion in major campaigns. Despite his military record, territorial nobles regarded him as rigid and overly strong-willed; after the conflict, he was sidelined to a western island fief with fewer than three hundred guards and no royal stipend. He nonetheless retained the ambition to reunify the former Krissen Empire. 147

As Crown Prince and regent of Antinak, he used the Norton Family's northbound caravan to suppress rebellious nobles and reclaim authority from his elder brother, the First Prince. He later attempted to use the kingdom's refugees to force the caravan into dependence, creating lasting resentment among Lorist's retainers. Lorist eventually negotiated an alliance with him, swore loyalty to the legitimate Krissen royal line, and received Shirovas Island as an additional Norton enfeoffment. 617

When he needed grain for Vannades City, he accepted Fatty Shi's demand for collateral. Ten days later, he returned with confiscated merchant goods labeled as enemy assets and secured one hundred million catties of grain from Kebo City, continuing the transport even through severe winter conditions. 166

Expansion and conflict with the Norton Family

In 1768, King Krissen Redlis of Redlis publicly accused the Second Prince of imprisoning his father, deposing his brother, and initiating war. The Second Prince responded with a counteroffensive that stabilized Antinak, defeated enemies including the First Prince's forces and Grand Duke Madras, and doubled Antinak's territory. His reputation rose across Galintea as an exceptional military strategist. 173

His dealings with the Norton Family soon became openly hostile. He offered Lorist a title without territory, then proposed the whole Northland after Lorist objected; Lorist questioned both the legality and credibility of the promise. 157 He later demanded Norton plunder, allegiance, and two legions for his campaigns, receiving the reply: “No thanks.” 178

The Second Prince dispatched a Great Swordsman to assassinate Lorist. In retaliation, the Norton Family mobilized more than twenty-four thousand troops to capture him. 218 The conflict established the pattern of their relationship: public cooperation when useful, persistent suspicion, and repeated attempts by each side to limit the other's power. 617

Restoration and rule as king

After escaping Federiga Royal City with surviving loyalists, the Second Prince hid in the Cloud Break Mountains. His force destroyed Baron Climondo and the First Prince, but sustained severe losses; he then sought the Norton Family's aid to reclaim his throne. Lorist refused to provide troops directly, but supplied one hundred thousand Gold Fude and a corps' worth of White Lion Legion equipment while permitting tightly restricted recruitment in Norton territory. 344

The Norton Family later helped restore him as King Augsello I of Antinak and recover lost territory. Though outwardly powerful after his restoration, he lacked a secure military foundation and avoided direct confrontation with the Commercial Alliance. 493

His rule was marked by severe reprisals. He executed the Madras family after their defeat and ordered a purge of nobles accused of colluding with rebels, an event remembered as the “July Blood Massacre.” These actions earned him the epithet “Bloody King” among knights and nobles. 356 374

Renewed campaigns and imperial ambition

The Second Prince demonstrated his operational boldness by crossing the frozen Cloud Mist Marsh, Cloud Break Mountains, and Great Snow Mountain in winter. With eight thousand men, he captured the Royal City of Redlis and forced the First Prince to flee. 265

While scouting a route through the White Egret Lake swamp for a surprise attack on the Four Central Duchies, he sheltered Lorist's disciple Ready and accepted his warning that the route was unsuitable for an army. When surrounded by three Great Swordsmen and superior enemy forces, he devised a defense using longbowmen against Great Swordsman Cindy and knights against the other attackers, successfully repelling the initial assaults. 367 369

After Lorist arrived to save his camp from further losses, the Second Prince studied skiing, winter clothing, and snow-house construction from him. His willingness to adopt these methods improved his army's ability to operate in the snowbound mountains. 370 372

Following his promotion to First-rank Great Swordsman, he sought to exploit the weakness of the Four Central Duchies and the Commercial Alliance's external war. He toured provincial territories, requested troops from allied nobles, and maneuvered to strengthen his position against the Norton Family. 430 431

Emperor Augsello

The Second Prince restored the Krissen Empire and ascended as Emperor Augsello. Before the coronation, however, Lorist's forces carried out a public massacre on Royal Avenue, humiliating him before the imperial nobility and demonstrating that the Norton Family could not be easily controlled. 612 617

As emperor, he remained wary of the Four Northland Families Alliance and repeatedly tested Norton resolve by moving imperial legions near their sphere of influence. Lorist responded by redeploying Norton forces to Yungshandra Province and Duke Shahin's territory. 619

He later pursued Lorist across North Sea City, Shirovas Island, and toward Molent City in an effort to discuss commercial purchase prices, only to be repeatedly avoided. 625
