Background
Before regaining his memories, Ye Yang was the Ye Family's foremost young prodigy. His exceptional talent allowed him to reach the Martial Venerable realm at nine, but his Supreme Body made breakthroughs unusually perilous: failure could seal his meridians completely. A failed breakthrough left him unable to cultivate, destroyed his reputation, and led him to publicly indulge in alcohol and troublemaking. He later reveals that this behavior was partly a façade to survive Ye Wushuang's persecution. 1 20
Ye Yang's current consciousness carries the memories of a former life in which he was a ninth-level Martial Immortal, half a step from the Martial Ancestor realm. While crossing Heavenly Tribulation, he was ambushed by three top experts; the Primordial Chaos Pagoda preserved a fragment of his true spirit and enabled his rebirth into the Ye Family's Ye Yang. 1
After Qin Hao severely injures him, Ye Wushuang attempts to remove him as Young Sect Master unless he wins the sect competition within a month. Ye Yang awakens, reopens his meridians, and immediately begins rebuilding his cultivation. 1
The Ye Family's Forbidden Ground later recognizes his bloodline. Tested by the Four Symbols Subduing Demons Formation, he defeats its Demon Subduing Heavenly General and receives the Founding Ancestor's Martial Dao Truth Calligraphy. The calligraphy leads him to the Supreme Nine Swords, while the Two Ancestors identify him as a Heaven-Chosen connected to an unnamed person he is destined to save. 12 15 17 18
Personality
Ye Yang is composed under threat and rarely allows enemies to dictate the pace of a confrontation. He routinely observes opponents, identifies hidden traps, and feigns weakness to provoke overconfidence before striking decisively. 22 26 83 129
He distinguishes sharply between those who heed his warnings and those who persist in attacking him. He can spare, negotiate with, or even reward people who change course, but becomes merciless toward assassins, traitors, and enemies who reject repeated chances to withdraw. 7 205 223 235
Despite his arrogance in battle, Ye Yang is strongly tied to the Ye Family. He accepts dangerous missions, reorganizes the sect's compromised leadership, strengthens its defenses, and leaves for the Sword Inquiry Tournament to shoulder threats others cannot. 114 126 163
