Seven hundred years had passed since humanity was created.
"Phew—"
At the foot of the Divine Mountain, Koen moved another boulder nearly ten meters tall. Wiping away his sweat, he looked at yet another temple nearing completion before him.
It was tall and majestic. Unlike the Oracle that had appeared at the moment of its birth with a gesture from the god, this temple had been built by the Golden Humans themselves.
Before this, they had already built many temples in succession. Every True God on the Divine Mountain had one of their own.
There were no exquisite reliefs, no mysterious patterns, and none of the sacred feeling that seemed to reach straight into the soul at a glance. Even so, Koen still felt deeply satisfied.
What the gods built symbolized their might, while what mortals built symbolized their devotion. The two could not be confused.
"King, you should rest for a while."
Koen had just been about to move another stone when the voice from beside him made him stop.
"We serve the gods. We should not seek comfort."
Koen shook his head. Although he was exhausted, he harbored not the slightest resentment.
The humans of the Golden Age possessed every positive emotion. They were upright, kind, hardworking, brave, and sincerely revered the gods from the bottom of their hearts. In their eyes, serving the gods was simply the natural order of things.
Besides, he was the first human created personally by the Lord of the Spirit World, and had therefore been made king of humanity. After the gods had finished dividing them among themselves, he had naturally been chosen by the God King and brought to the area around Mount Othrys.
At this moment, more than a dozen tribes of various sizes were scattered around the Divine Mountain.
