Mu Chaoyun was born into the reclusive Mu Family of North Capital Mountain, a lineage that had preserved secret arts of divination, formations, and heavenly mechanisms for at least a thousand years. As a child, she displayed extraordinary aptitude for the Book of Changes and the clan's esoteric studies, becoming a recognized genius while growing increasingly isolated from her peers. The Mu Family was destroyed when an unidentified expert sought the Black Heaven Book. Mu Chaoyun's father, eldest uncle, and the clan's other Grandmasters died resisting him; even three Grandmasters fighting within the family grand formation could not defeat the attacker.
