The tavern was quite large, with over a hundred people, noisy and chaotic. Dim yellow lights flickered, stretching and shortening people's shadows.
Some were drinking, the clinking of glasses and the sound of swallowing alcohol intertwined; some were playing games, excited shouts rising and falling; some were playing cards, curses and laughter echoing endlessly. The entire tavern was filled with smoke and the strong smell of alcohol, appearing idle and aimless.
Facing Kino's scrutinizing gaze, the better people simply ignored him, while the worse ones were outright rude.
"Kid, scram home, this isn't a place for playing house."
"Little guy, wanna pick me? I'll give you a wonderful night."
Kino paid no attention to these voices, merely weaving through the crowd, selecting his target.
He couldn't discern any strength or aura, only making a vague assessment based on their weapons and equipment.
Until he saw a figure with two swords on his back slowly walk towards him, looking at his handsome yet somewhat unruly face.
The other person was playing cards, surrounded by a circle of people, with constant noise.
He paid no attention to Kino at all, focusing on the cards in his hand.
"Deadpool."
Or rather, the mercenary Wade Wilson, before he became Deadpool.
Kino smiled, unexpectedly encountering his idol, Little Rascal. He had envied the other's carefree and unrestrained attitude towards life in his past life.
Without disturbing him, Kino stood quietly to the side, watching him play cards.
"Fuck, lost this hand again." Wade angrily slammed the cards on the table.
"Stop the crap, Wade, pay up." The person opposite extended his hand.
Wade angrily took out bits and pieces of change, it was all the money he had left.
"Hello, Wade, may I bother you for a moment?" Kino said softly.
"Alright, kid, since you didn't bother Master Wade just now, I'll give you one minute. If you're here to play house with me, I'll shave your head."
Wade said a lot without holding back. Although he hadn't become Deadpool yet, his talkative habit was exactly the same.
"Take me to infiltrate a laboratory." Kino got straight to the point.
"And then? Take you to steal a certain Mysterious Serum from inside, you drink it, become a hero. Kid, watch fewer comics!" Wade laughed mockingly.
"Hahahaha..."
The entire tavern erupted in thunderous laughter.
"One million dollars." Kino held up one finger, his voice not loud, but clearly reaching everyone's ears.
The entire tavern instantly fell silent, as if time had stopped.
Kino calmly observed everyone's reaction.
"I can pay half the deposit first."
"Pfft!"
Jason, the tavern boss, spat out the wine in his mouth, the liquid forming a mist in the light.
"Does this kid know what a million dollars is? Killing someone isn't even tens of thousands of dollars."
Castle sighed. "I haven't had a chance to teach the Young Master about this yet."
Kino looked at the expressionless Wade. "Not agreeing? Then I..."
Before he could finish, Wade lunged over and grabbed the raised finger.
"No problem, Boss, let alone infiltrating a lab, even killing someone is no problem."
"So you agree." Kino smiled slightly.
"That's right, Boss. So, when does the deposit arrive?"
"Castle."
Wade looked blissfully at the text message notification on his phone. A million dollars, enough to have a comfortable time with Vanessa for two years, and he could even get some new gear.
The people around looked at Wade with envy. Getting a million dollars for playing house with a kid, it was the first time they'd heard of such a job.

"Oh right, Boss, what were you saying just now?"
"Nothing much, just that if you didn't agree, I would have added another five hundred thousand."
"..."
The smile on Wade's face froze. It was the first time he hated his quick reaction. If he had been a little slower, it would have been another five hundred thousand.
Snapping back to reality, Wade found Kino still looking for someone, glancing around.
This time, every mercenary who caught Kino's eye flexed their muscles and weapons, showing that making money wasn't shameful.
"Boss, are you still looking for someone to play... no, to infiltrate a lab with?"
"Hmm, you're the main attacker, and I still need a few people to protect me."
Wade realized that this little boss seemed serious. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Boss, I know someone. I lost a fight to him before. He should be fine for protecting you."
"Oh, where? Take me to see him." Kino's eyes lit up. He wanted to see someone whom Wade considered strong.
"But he's a mutant, boss. I hope you don't mind."
He had discovered the other party was a mutant during their fight. One punch to the jaw felt like hitting steel. If he hadn't been wearing gauntlets, his hand bones would have shattered.
"As long as they're strong enough, I don't mind," Kino said without hesitation.
Kino, led by Wade, arrived at a bar where a burly man was drinking whiskey like water.
"Logan, still drinking? I've got a job here, wanna join?"
"Cough..."
Wade slapped the burly man on the back, causing him to choke on his drink.
The burly man turned his head, revealing a wild look in his eyes.
"If you put your hand on my butt again, I'll chop it off."
"You can't blame me, your butt is just too shapely. I found a big job and specifically recommended you to the boss."
Wolverine, Logan. Why was he here? And why did he know Wade? According to the timeline, Wade should have been killed by Logan.
"This is your boss? Playing house with a little kid?" Logan said dismissively, looking at Kino. He had overheard their conversation in the bar.
"Don't say that, this boss seems to be serious," Wade quickly said.
"Get lost, don't make me punch you." Logan raised his fist.
"Oh! You want to extend your little claws? Let me trim them for you." Wade slowly drew his two swords, provoking him.
Logan also slowly extended his claws, revealing just a sharp tip.
Kino suddenly spoke.
"Wade, stop. Wolverine, Logan, can we talk?"
"Wolverine, what a cool nickname. Too bad it doesn't suit you." Wade obediently put away his weapons, but his mouth didn't stop.
Logan narrowed his eyes. That was the name on his dog tag. "You know me?"
"One million, plus some information I know, and you help me with a favor." Kino stated his terms.
"How do I know you're not lying to me?" Logan looked at Kino suspiciously.
"Hmm, fair point."
Kino thought for a moment and said, "The metal in your body is Adamantium, indestructible. You have a dog tag on your chest."
"When do we leave?" Logan asked directly.
"Now. Castle, prepare a car for me."
"No problem, Young Master. Do you really not need me to go with you?" Castle asked with a bit of worry.
"Don't worry, it's a simple matter. They're enough. Castle, help me prepare some chocolate milk."
"Yes."
