Background
Kino is an eighteen-year-old transmigrator who awakens in a wealthy body following his parents’ funeral. He has no memories of the body’s parents, inherits substantial assets, and learns that he can travel between worlds; his available destinations are initially Marvel and DC, both worlds he considers catastrophically dangerous. 1
After discovering that Tony Stark has gone missing, Kino recognizes the beginning of the “extraordinary” era and prioritizes acquiring powers for self-preservation. He initially targets the Life Foundation’s crashed spacecraft in East Malaysia to obtain Venom, using his inheritance to hire mercenaries for the operation. 1 2
George Stacy, a friend of Kino’s parents who calls himself Kino’s uncle, offers him a place to stay after the funeral. Kino initially declines, but retains George’s contact information and later develops close ties with George’s family, particularly Gwen. 1 298
Personality
Kino is calculating, composed, and strongly motivated by survival. His earliest plans center on securing enough power to remain alive in worlds threatened by alien invasions, gods, supervillains, and repeated apocalyptic events. 1 65
He rejects the idea that power obligates him to become a traditional hero. Kino instead defines his priorities as personal freedom and protecting the people and places important to him, though he is willing to intervene when circumstances directly involve them. 46 65
Kino is generous to allies and subordinates, offering employment, potions, contracts, technology, resurrection, and personal protection. However, he is also manipulative and ruthless toward enemies, criminals, and those he considers obstacles; he frequently turns overwhelming power into a tool of coercion, humiliation, or recruitment. 72 86 155 182 466
Despite his ambition, Kino dislikes burdensome positions of absolute responsibility. He declines to sit on the Stone Chair, viewing its authority as an eternal restriction on his freedom. 467
