"Hiss—hiss—hiss—"

Just as Wang Xian's thoughts were running wild, a burst of hissing suddenly came from the room on the west side of the farm.

The sound was strange, as if several different sounds had been mashed together, making it extremely unpleasant to hear.

When Wang Xian heard it, his eyes immediately lit up. He knew he had succeeded.

There had been a very famous post on the Forum in his previous life, titled "On the Possibility of Artificially Breeding Bosses."

Finally, the five venomous creatures had to be gathered together and made to fight. Whether it succeeded or not depended on fate.

Wang Xian had raised large numbers of centipedes, scorpions, and geckos. As for venomous snakes and toads, he had only raised a few of each, and had thrown them into that room before Datafication began.

Wang Xian had not held much hope that he could breed a Five-Venom Beast. After all, he only had a few venomous snakes and toads. There was nothing he could do about it—they were simply too hard to obtain!

Now, however, it seemed his luck was not bad. He had actually bred a Five-Venom Beast Boss.

The first Boss first kill would definitely be his!

Listening to the constant hissing from the room, Wang Xian went to the room where he raised cockroaches, grabbed foam boxes, and began filling them with cockroaches.

Like earthworms, cockroaches were level 0 wild monsters.

Wang Xian filled two 50×70×30 foam boxes to the brim, carried them to the room containing the Five-Venom Beast Boss, and set them down. Then he returned to the room where he usually rested and carried out another box.

A skull had been painted on the box, along with a warning that read: Toxic Hazard.

There were also three large words on the front of the box.

Wang Xian opened the box and took out a bottle of DDVP.

After opening it, he poured it into the foam boxes full of cockroaches, emptying six bottles of DDVP into each box.

The Five-Venom Beast Boss had a huge level range. The weakest were level 5, while the strongest could be several hundred levels—or perhaps even higher. They simply had not been discovered.

The Five-Venom Beast Boss Wang Xian had bred was naturally the weakest kind: a level 5 Boss.

Chewing sounds came from the room. The Five-Venom Beast Boss was eating the cockroaches.

The Five-Venom Beast Boss greatly craved poisonous things because poison could make it evolve.

Of course, that required a process—a process of adaptation.

When it first consumed a new poison, the Five-Venom Beast Boss would also be poisoned. But as time passed, it would develop resistance to that poison.

At that point, the new poison would become a miraculous medicine for the Five-Venom Beast Boss's evolution.

"Hiss—hiss—hiss—"

The Five-Venom Beast Boss hissed again, but this time, its voice was full of pain and weakness.

Wang Xian did not rush in. He continued waiting.

When the sounds coming from the room no longer carried pain, Wang Xian kicked open the tightly locked door and charged inside with an iron shovel.

After entering the room, Wang Xian saw a creature about the size of a toy poodle lying on the ground.

It was an extremely bizarre-looking creature. It had a centipede's carapace, a scorpion's tail, a toad's body, a venomous snake's head, and a gecko's limbs.

The Five-Venom Beast Boss had 21 points of physical defense, while Wang Xian only had 20 attack, 3 of which came from the iron shovel. He could not break the Five-Venom Beast Boss's defense at all.

Unlike online games, where attacking an enemy forcibly deducted 1 HP, on Datafied Blue Star, failing to break through defense meant dealing no damage.

Therefore, Wang Xian did not hesitate to add 20 points to Strength. As for the remaining 20 points, he added them all to Constitution.

The Five-Venom Beast's attack might only be 10, but that was merely its ordinary physical attack. The Five-Venom Beast's attacks carried poison.

Although he did not yet know how potent this Five-Venom Beast Boss's poison was, with Wang Xian's current 150 HP, if the Boss touched him even once, he would probably be dead—or close enough.

Adding 20 points to Strength and 20 points to Constitution raised his attack to 40 and his HP to 350.

On Datafied Blue Star, there were five types of damage displays when attacking enemies.

White represented normal damage.

Yellow represented critical damage.

Red represented weak-point damage.

Green represented poison damage.

Black represented fatal damage.

Critical damage and weak-point damage were both twice normal damage, while fatal damage was ten times normal damage. As for poison damage, that depended on the effect of the poison.

The snake head was clearly one of the Five-Venom Beast's weak points. Wang Xian's shovel strike directly dealt double damage.

Wang Xian's attack was 40. Subtracting the Five-Venom Beast Boss's 21 defense left 19, and multiplying that by 2 gave exactly 38.
