Background / History

Shen Yixuan was originally human and lived at the Deep Mountain Inn in Chaxiang County. Government records preserved information on her residence, education, physical development, and murders; her familiarity with anatomy later allows her to perform emergency surgery on Yu Jing. Her father, Shen Zhao, raised her under terror and ultimately became the central source of her trauma. 129 177 418

She first appears as an evil spirit during physical training. After her puppet is destroyed, she battles Yu Jing and Yu Xiaoxiao; Yu Xiaoxiao destroys the core in Shen Yixuan’s chest with a silver dagger. 47 She later becomes a Ghost Bead grafted into Yu Jing’s right arm, forming a bond that lets her manifest, fuse with him, and support his combat abilities. 105 120 199

Yu Jing strengthens her with blood energy, enabling her to form a temporary physical body. Although initially predatory and openly flirtatious, she repeatedly aids him in dangerous missions, including performing improvised surgery to remove bone fragments from his lungs and saving his life. 105 129

Her return to Chaxiang County forces her to confront her past. At the Deep Mountain Inn, she kills her sister and enters the Personality Maturation Stage, advancing to C-class. She subsequently seeks fear-related cores and cursed objects to nourish the Fear Source forming within her. 485 489

Shen Yixuan’s appearance changes with her form and advancement. In human guise, she is a tall, naturally beautiful woman whose body is notably cool to the touch; her ghost form is more visibly inhuman and commonly manifests with four arms, claws, and black hair. 105 166 199

Shen Yixuan is seductive, provocative, and often mischievous toward Yu Jing, whom she calls “Master.” Early in their bond, she views most humans with contempt and retains a predatory instinct shaped by her life as a murderer and ghost creature. 66 166 168

Despite this cruelty, she becomes deeply protective of Yu Jing. She uses her final strength to protect him, performs surgery while he is near death, intervenes when his aggression becomes unstable, and uses physical contact to calm his surging negative emotions. 129 320 388
