All civilization coordinates needed to be disguised.
If you did not disguise them, hostile civilizations would follow the ancient law of the dark forest and hit you with several vicious superluminal weapons. You would be in for a world of hurt.
There were many ways to hide them. The simplest and most direct was to erase the spatial coordinates of the entire region.
You could hide, too. If you had ascended-civilization technology, you could even hide in another parallel universe.
Of course, considering that level-three civilizations did not yet possess such advanced technology, even if they hid, they could easily be detected—unless they were a completely closed-off civilization.
Otherwise, as long as they came and went or interacted with the outside world, there was no way they could avoid exposing their coordinates.
But the Thousand-Faced One handled this very well. It had many trading posts in the outside world, including numerous large black markets and major commercial planets. It also supported a great many "Interstellar Killer Organizations" and "Interstellar Assassin Organizations."
Those who did not know the truth might assume this civilization was some interstellar assassination magnate.
No one knew the true coordinates of this civilization. They could not even determine its approximate range.
Some even suspected that its civilization coordinates were not in the Fifth Spiral at all. The publicly proclaimed "Fifth Spiral Civilization" was merely a smokescreen.
In fact, the Thousand-Faced One itself might not even be a civilization. It could simply be an assassin organization disguised as a civilization.
Because it had disguised itself as a level-three civilization, the other level-three civilizations could only pinch their noses and acknowledge its existence as it wreaked havoc across the stars.
