"Too quiet."
Gao Gong muttered to himself as he gazed at the vast starry expanse of the universe.
Ever since entering the Fifth Star Vortex, Gao Gong had expected wave after wave of insect hordes to come surging at him like a tidal wave. He had already made all the necessary preparations.
For example, he had fully activated the Star-Destroyer's power output.
The Tier Four energy ores piled around the reactor were enough to fight an interstellar war.
However, aside from rescuing the Milta ship, he had not encountered the insects even once.
"Could my luck really be that good?"
Or had the main force of the insect army, apart from hunting down the Anti-Insect Alliance, already gone all out to encircle and destroy the three civilizations in this star vortex?
Many civilizations that had never come into contact with the Insectoid Race had a misconception: after annihilating one civilization, the Insectoid Race would rest for a while before attacking other civilizations.
But in fact, after annihilating a civilization, the Insectoid Race absorbed the entire civilization's legacy. Not only would it not weaken, but its strength would advance even further.
It was fortunate that the Black Mech Alliance had completed its "species mechanical modification." If it had been a carbon-based civilization, things would have been even worse.
In the mechanical school's terminology, this was a typical form of "mechanical agrarian militarism."
Mechanical civilizations capable of following the path of "agrarian militarism" were extremely rare even among mechanical civilizations.
But every Insectoid civilization possessed this ability.
If those subatomic insects were currently besieging the three civilizations in this star vortex, Gao Gong would not have been surprised at all.
However, he vaguely sensed that something was wrong.
"If only my biological body were still here."
Gao Gong muttered to himself.
