After Gao Gong crossed the accretion disk and arrived near the black hole, he discovered that it had already begun undergoing some unusual changes.
Light dripped down slowly like viscous liquid. The X-rays and gamma rays emitted by the accretion disk were stretched into burning ribbons of silk here, circling the eternal darkness at the center.
It seemed to have sensed Gao Gong's arrival. The computation had begun in earnest.
A point of pure white lit up at the black hole's center. Then a silent explosion blossomed in slow motion.
Billions upon billions of light sigils poured out like schooling fish, but instead of dispersing, they wove a halo structure around the nest so complex that it made the stars pale in comparison.
Every point of light was a computational unit, and every flicker was a collision of logic.
The light sigils surged into the black hole's gravitational field, stretched into slender threads of light, and wound and wove themselves together.
They borrowed the black hole's own gravitational-lensing effect, using warped spacetime as their computational medium.
Occasionally, a high-energy particle erupted with its final radiation before falling into the event horizon. Its energy and information were instantly captured by the light sigils, analyzed, and transformed into a sudden downpour of golden sparks that splashed across the invisible computational curtain.
"Not bad. It actually looks the part."
Gao Gong glanced over the light sigils. They were standard spacetime code.
They were repeatedly refreshing the black hole and carrying out the evolution of a spacetime tunnel.
Gao Gong had to admit one thing: although this spacetime code was still a complete "mess of spaghetti," its results were quite impressive.
