However, excessive use would cause the user's very existence to be assimilated by it, becoming part of the singularity.

Form: An ancient brass compass whose needle was formed from solidified starlight.
Function: It did not point east, west, south, or north, but instead pointed toward a "target" or "answer." After a specific target was entered, such as "find the richest nearby energy vein" or "find the safest route to a parallel world," the needle would guide the way. Its accuracy was directly proportional to the clarity of the target's definition and the energy paid by the user. It could not directly point toward abstract concepts such as "happiness" or "love."
