Mystic Adepts stand above Warriors in both power and social status. A Warrior crosses the Mystic Pass and becomes a Mystic Adept by condensing a Soul Tempering Imprint; this foundational imprint must then be supported by formal Profound Imprints for meaningful combat power 252 499.

Profound Imprints

• Two formal Profound Imprints are considered the most reliable configuration for advancing to Mystic Master 252.
• A third Profound Imprint can improve combat power, but the conflicts between imprints become more severe; the Profound Palace estimates that the difficulty of advancing to Mystic Master rises tenfold 252.
• More than 98% of Mystic Adepts never obtain the opportunity to condense a Second-Order Profound Seal and remain at their existing rank for life 274.

Mystic Arts and Source Energy Manipulation

Mystic Adepts can transform Source Energy into extraordinary phenomena through Profound Seals and mystic arts.

• Extraordinary Flame — A fire-element Mystic Adept who possesses both a Soul Tempering Imprint and a fire-element Profound Seal can convert Source Energy into flame barehanded 122.
• Flight — Myriad Heavens Race Mystic Adepts can cultivate Wind-style Profound Art traits and fly through the air regardless of their primary profound-art branch 793.
• Profound Seal techniques — Their abilities vary greatly according to their individual Profound Imprints, including fire, illusion, stone, spirit, wood, and other branches 252 303.

Mystic Arrays

Mystic Adepts operate specialized arrays for surveillance, pursuit, attack, and investigation.

• City-monitoring Mystic Arrays can create detailed projections of an entire city, though creatures with specialized anti-detection anatomy may evade them 216.
• Qinglin City's official Mystic Array possessed pillar-of-light attacks and short-range teleportation capabilities 115.
• Multiple Mystic Adepts may jointly activate an array to trace targets or investigate supernatural remains 124.
• Arrays can be thwarted by stronger outside intervention; an attempted trace of the Netherworld was interrupted after a suspected Powerhouse blocked it 124.

Detection and Divination

• Mystic Adept detection is not infallible. Bat Snakes can evade array surveillance and scatter quickly enough that an individual Mystic Adept can usually kill only a few before the swarm escapes 216.

• Typical Mystic Adept attire is a black robe; Mystic Masters use black robes trimmed with silver thread, while a higher-ranked Mystic Supervisor may wear gold-patterned black robes 226.
• Mystic Adepts are granted the authority to marry five wives, whose living expenses are supported by the authorities to encourage the inheritance of Mystic Adept bloodlines 122.
• Their descendants are said to have ten times the chance of becoming Warriors and five times the chance of becoming Mystic Adepts compared with ordinary people 122.
• Source Profound Crystals are crucial cultivation resources, and even ordinary Mystic Adepts commonly lack them 498.
