Training Spellblades required a leader and a pioneer. Tyrel had already devoted himself to the path of the Paladin, so he was clearly unsuitable. As he made his way back to his residence in Sunfury Spire, he had been pondering who to choose.
The moment he pushed open the magical door to his residence, an unidentified object smacked him in the face.
"Wow, Valeera, you hit Tyrel," Kaelen Sunfury's voice called out.
What had hit Tyrel in the face was a soft pillow, so he was unharmed.
But when Valeera Sangunar saw it, she panicked slightly and hurried over on her long legs. "Are you all right, Tyrel?"
"Of course I'm fine, Valeera. Looks like you're playing the pillow game again." Tyrel picked up the pillow from the ground, then sighed at the feather-filled mess throughout his residence.
Tyrel's residence was enormous. It occupied an entire tower within Sunfury Spire and could house over a thousand people.
However, Tyrel rarely stayed in his own residence. He had little sense of belonging there, and it was far too vast and lonely.
To make it livelier, Tyrel had Cain, Valeera, and the thousand High Elf Paladins of the Dawnblade Legion move into his residence.
As for Rilas, he stayed with his sister, Ranger-General Sylvanas.
While Tyrel had been away, Cain and Valeera had directly led the High Elf Paladins of the Dawnblade Legion in a pillow game, one they had often played together when Tyrel was little.
When the High Elf Paladins of the Dawnblade Legion saw Tyrel arrive, they all stopped and looked at him somewhat sheepishly.
Tyrel immediately grabbed a pillow and hurled it at Kaelen Sunfury. "Count me in!"
"Tyrel, Valeera was the one who hit you. Why are you throwing one at me...?"
Seeing Tyrel decisively join the pillow game, the High Elf Paladins began again with renewed enthusiasm, tossing the pillows in their hands at their fellow countrymen.
For a time, laughter filled the air as feathers flew everywhere.
Men were like that. Things that seemed childish to others could stir up wholehearted joy in them!
At that moment, every High Elf Paladin of the Dawnblade Legion relaxed. Inside Little Prince Tyrel's residence in Sunfury Spire, everyone was equal. There were no princes, no nobles, no commoners, and no officers. All they had to do was laugh to their hearts' content while throwing pillows at anyone nearby.
Though Valeera Sangunar was clearly the youngest, she stood at the doorway and sighed over how immature the High Elf Paladins were as they brawled in their pillow-game melee.
Time passed quickly. Even the High Elf Paladins, with their excellent stamina, gradually collapsed onto the floor.
"It's about time. Get some rest, brothers." Night had already fallen, and Tyrel summoned magical tools to clean the messy floor.
In the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas, magic was used for everything. It had completely merged with daily life, including magical tools that worked automatically.
Feathers that would have been difficult to sweep up by hand were quickly cleared away by the magical tools. It was precisely because of them that Silvermoon City could remain spotless.
Upon hearing Tyrel's words, the High Elf Paladins of the Dawnblade Legion rested where they were.
Though Tyrel's residence was large enough to hold them all, it did not have nearly enough beds. Fortunately, the floors were covered in soft carpets, so lying on them would not be uncomfortable.
Tyrel, Cain, and the High Elf Paladins were fine with it. They were all men, after all, and were used to sleeping rough. But Valeera was there as well, so Tyrel walked over to her. "Valeera, go rest in my room. You're the only girl here, after all."
"But..." Tyrel's words came rather suddenly to Valeera.
"No buts. Didn't we often live together when we were children? You, me, Rilas, and Cain. Just treat it like the old days."
"All right..."
Valeera entered Tyrel's room. Looking at everything inside, she could not help but sigh. It was still just like when they were children.
When Tyrel and Valeera had been little, Valeera, an orphan who did not come from a great noble family, had remained by his side because Tyrel had insisted on it.
As a child, Valeera was always bullied by others because she was an orphan and stubborn besides.
It would have been easy for her to be bullied if she were left outside alone, so young Tyrel had suggested that Valeera live with him. That way, no one would dare bully Valeera under his watch.
When King Anastarian had heard those words, he had been taken aback. But after seeing Tyrel's determined and innocent eyes, he agreed.
One night, Silvermoon City was unusually shrouded beneath dark clouds, and an unprecedented storm of lightning and rain descended.
Under such circumstances, the nightmare in Valeera's mind resurfaced: the scene of her parents' deaths.
Consumed by fear and pain, Valeera sobbed by herself.
Perhaps because of High Elves' long ears, Tyrel heard Valeera crying.
"Valeera, why are you crying? Did someone bully you again? Tell me, and I'll get revenge for you."
"No one bullied me. I just... I'm just scared... Tyrel..."
"I'm here, Valeera. As long as I'm by your side, you don't need to be afraid. I'll protect you."
"Really? Will you protect me forever?"
"I will."
The young Valeera and Tyrel snuggled close together. From that day onward, Valeera never had another nightmare, and the horrors in her mind never returned.
Meanwhile, outside, Kaelen Sunfury slung an arm around Tyrel's shoulders. "Tyrel, come on, come on. I bought lots of Sunlight Brew. Now that Valeera isn't watching, let's drink until we drop!"
"Th-That doesn't seem like a good idea..." Tyrel did not like drinking, so he tried to decline.
Seeing this, Kaelen Sunfury raised his brows at Mylah Dawncaller and gave her a meaningful look.
Mylah Dawncaller understood at once. She stood up and clapped loudly, drawing the attention of all the High Elf Paladins who had been preparing to rest. Then she pulled out a bottle of Sunlight Brew and said, "Brothers, we're not going home sober tonight!"
"We're not going home sober!" Hot-blooded men naturally would not refuse.
With every High Elf Paladin staring at him expectantly, Tyrel had no choice. Shaking his head, he raised a bottle of Sunlight Brew.
That day, Tyrel finally understood how treacherous the world could be. The High Elf Paladins, who normally treated him with great respect, lined up one after another to offer him drinks.
Tyrel's tolerance was mediocre to begin with, and he was drinking against a thousand people...
After Tyrel got drunk, Cain and Mylah supported him from either side and knocked on the door to Tyrel's room.
"What happened to Tyrel?" Valeera asked in confusion as she looked at the unconscious Tyrel.
"It's nothing. He just drank too much. Men like us can't take care of him properly, so we'll leave him to you, Valeera."
Afterward, Mylah Dawncaller looked somewhat guilty. "Is this really all right, Cain...?"
"It's fine. Even you all can tell Valeera likes Tyrel, but Tyrel himself is acting like an idiot. Let me tell you, not only is there nothing wrong with this, but if it works out, the Sun King might even thank us! We'd be helping ease the kingdom's burdens."
