Under the cover of night.
A covert camp was hidden within the mountains, and a group of gloomy wizards had gathered here.
They wore special crests on their chests and used various disguises to protect themselves, because their true identities were members of the Cult of the Dragon. It was a rather ancient and evil organization whose founder was Sammaster, a Chosen of the Goddess of Magic who had crossed paths with Elminster and once fought with the City Lord of Silverymoon, Alustriel. It was worth mentioning that the former City Lord of Silverymoon was also once his lover, but this terrifying wizard eventually turned to madness, and after his death, he resurrected as a lich. To eliminate this terrifying existence, hundreds of clerics of the God of Morning (formerly the Lord of Radiance) waylaid the outgoing Sammaster, but they were driven to desperate straits by the powerful Sammaster. With no other choice, the clerics sacrificed their lives to pray for Lathander to descend. The God of Morning responded to the prayers of His worshippers, sending His avatar to eliminate Sammaster.
Sammaster's full-strength attack merely chipped the surface of Lathander's temporarily constructed avatar, yet His own physical body was destroyed by Lathander with a single blow.
An entity comparable to a demigod lich was thus erased by the former Lord of Radiance.
Yet the organization he created was preserved and still maintained its vitality, thereby giving rise to the Cult of the Dragon and the Cult of the Denounced Dragon.
As time passed, the members of this organization gradually gravitated toward the God of Liches and maintained some contact with the God of Death, Naram. They were also a truly terrifying part of the Undead Scourge, because their mission was to resurrect Dracoliches!
An aura of evil permeated these mountains.
