Part of Soren's power came from the Dead Three!
That made him extremely sensitive to the power of those three mighty evil gods. Almost as soon as his opponent unleashed some kind of sinister black fire, he sensed it intensely.
"What is this power?"
Soren frowned as he stared at the Cult of the Dragon member before him. Beneath the terrifying black fire, the silver dragon Alexandrina's life force rapidly weakened, as though the flames had set her very life alight and were steadily burning it away. This power came from the former Lord of the Dead, Myrkul. It was a flame of the Death Pantheon, terrifyingly lethal to any living creature, much like the Goddess of Magic's famous "silver fire."
Something seemed to occur to Soren, and he exclaimed in surprise, "The Crown of Horns?"
One thing was beyond doubt.
Myrkul of the Dead Three had most certainly fallen.
He had died long ago. His portfolio had already been inherited, and the vast majority of his power should have dissipated.
With him already dead, what could still wield his divine power?
An artifact!
And it had to be a greater artifact!
An artifact that had vanished from the Material Plane surfaced in Soren's memory. A certain legendary figure had obtained it and taken it out of the Material Plane.

This artifact held a portion of the divinity and wisdom of the King of Bone, Myrkul, the former God of Death. It was a silver circlet set with a black diamond, with four sharp, bony horns extending around it. An uncanny light flickered within the diamond.
The Crown of Horns was a sentient evil item. Its sole purpose in the world was to spread evil and suffering without end.
