Their numbers were so vast that they seemed to stretch beyond sight.
But these were not the real problem. The high-ranking undead guarding Nathlatar, held here by some power that prevented them from leaving, emerged. Huge chasmes crawled out of the mausoleums, vampiric giants stepped down from the city walls, liches appeared near the obelisks, and many ancient vampires crawled from the deepest recesses of their graves.
These were Orcus's true guards!
They were bound here, just like the balors circling near the Silver Palace. The Demon Lord had used special methods to make them guard his territory.
"This looks like it'll be a tough fight!"
Soran strode forward. Behind him, the vast Demon Legion had finished assembling. The enemy's numbers remained immense, and the appearance of more and more high-ranking undead meant that taking this place would come at a considerable cost.
"Prepare a portal!"
Soran looked up at the sky, then continued, "Set up an extraplanar Teleportation Array."
There were too many enemies.
Even if Soran's demon army defeated this many enemies, it would be wiped out in the process. Under these circumstances, he could only draw on Port Nyanzaru's strength.
The enemies were packed tightly together.
