Once the final Lord of the Dead emerged, they quickly dispatched their churches' followers to reclaim lost territory and purify the lands contaminated by the undead.
Soren had much to do.
His most important task at present was to fuse the powers of death: murder from Cyric, death from Naram, and the dead from Kelemvor.
Soren chose the most fundamental path: to fuse all these portfolios into one and turn them into a true [Death] portfolio. In other words, he intended to become the Human Pantheon's sole God of Death. Within the entire Human Pantheon, aside from the small portion of the [Murder] portfolio held by the Lady of Night, Soren had already absorbed every other death-related portfolio.
He was the Human Pantheon's God of Death!
He was also the most powerful God of Death among all races. The gods of death of other races were, at most, lesser divinities.
Ever since the Ancient God of Death, Jergal, divided his power into three portions and bestowed them upon three mortals, the Human Pantheon's gods of death had always been the strongest. Now Soren had gathered that power together. Although some of the portfolios rested with Vivian and Lillian, death alone had never been all that Jergal commanded.
