Fear erupts
Soren did not hesitate for a moment.
As the Black Tentacles ensnared enemies near Goria, he swiftly drew his sword and retreated, the Scimitar flashing with cold light as it slashed down those bound by the energy tentacles. Wizard are never the primary damage dealers; they only memorize a limited number of area -Evocation Spell, and even their truly damaging Spell are single-target lethal Spell like Finger of Death. Melee Class; a Evocation Spell's damage is less effective than controlling the enemy and letting Warrior land a single blow.
More and more enemies are appearing in the vicinity.
The number of enemies far exceeded Soren's expectations. Even Goria's expression turned serious, and she said in a deep voice, "My Spell Slot can't handle so many enemies."
The enemy numbered over a hundred.
Judging by their appearance, they were all creatures of Tier 2 or higher. They were followers of the God of Hunt and were much stronger than the Guard of White Horse City.
The followers of the Deity certainly possess greater combat abilities. If the God of Hunt hadn't fallen into slumber, there would likely be some among these monsters capable of wielding Divine Magic. The Lesser Deity, weakened considerably before the start of the Time of Troubles, only bestow Divine Magic upon their core followers and priests; other, less valued followers lose the ability to cast Divine Magic. These monsters hold Hunt Ritual to awaken the Deity ' attention. If they prove their worth, the God of Hunt might consider them more useful followers and grant them Divine Magic.
Those worthless believers will be stripped of their Divine Magic abilities, for the power of the God of Hunt is also waning!
Time of Troubles.
The Divine Rank rank of all Deity is declining; once their Divine Rank rank is exhausted, they will fall to the mortal realm. The weaker the Deity, the faster they fall. Only after the Energy Storm of the Time of Troubles ends will they regain their Divine Rank rank and return to the God's Realm. Deity walking in the mortal realm are Avatar; they do not have Divine Rank rank, only retaining their initial class rank. Therefore, some of these Deity are very weak. This is because some of them attained godhood through luck, and their own strength is not particularly great, merely around the High-tier Legendary. They only broke through to a total level of 40 or higher by relying on the abilities granted by their Divine Rank rank.
Therefore, there have been instances where Lesser Deity have defeated stronger Deity, because after losing their Divine Rank status, the difference in strength between the two is not significant!
However, Deity descend to the mortal realm as Avatar, with average attributes generally exceeding 25 points. Even without the power granted by their Divine Rank status, they completely overwhelm any mortal in terms of attribute difference. A small number of powerful Deity can reach a maximum attribute of 50 points. When facing Goddess of Magic with an intelligence of 50 points, even Legendary Wizard would feel that their Spell are merely acrobatics! Among the Abyssal Demon Lord, those who excel in strength can move mountains and fill seas with their bare hands—this is no joke!
The number of followers of the God of Hunt is increasing.
Soren realized the gravity of the situation. Goria's Spell Slot couldn't hold off so many enemies. Just as he was preparing to cover Goria's teleportation escape, a loud wolf howl suddenly came from behind. Immediately afterward, the Elf Ranger they had met earlier rushed out, looking extremely disheveled. He had seven or eight bloody wounds on his body, and his once handsome face was torn apart by claws, almost completely disfigured. In his hand, he gripped a Longsword. The way he held it was very strange; upon closer inspection, it was discovered that one of his fingers was missing.
It looks like his little finger was bitten off by some wild animal!
Upon seeing Soren and his companions, the Elf Ranger's Neutral lit up with delight, but his expression quickly turned malevolent. He leaped away, leaving the much stronger hunters behind him behind, and rapidly approached them. It turned out that he was the target of the followers of the God of Hunt, and behind him were clearly even more powerful hunters and Tracker.
A group of monsters abandoned Soren and his companions and charged towards the Elf Ranger in front of them!
This is the most important goal.
They absolutely cannot let the Elf Ranger escape, otherwise this Hunt Ritual will be considered a failure.
--"The Cause Fear!"
The Elf Ranger made no casting motions, not even a spell. He simply raised his hand and a Spell Aura appeared. Immediately afterward, an Fear Aura erupted among the enemies blocking his path. This was neither Divine Magic that a high-ranking Ranger could use, nor Arcane Magic cast by Wizard, but a special ability similar to Spell, possibly a talent he possessed innately!
A large number of creatures remained frozen in place.
Immediately, a considerable number of the enemies showed fear, as if there was something terrifying about them, and fled in panic in all directions.
Some of the enemies even turned pale and died on the spot!
They were scared to death!!!
The Elf Ranger used Cause Fear to disperse the enemies in front of him, then suddenly accelerated and rushed forward, getting closer and closer to Soren.
Damn it!
Soren's expression turned extremely ugly in an instant, Goria beside him also looked grave, because with just a Spell- like attack, they had confirmed the identity of the Elf Ranger before them.
"Fear God Child!"
Aside from the Godsbane the Demon Lord of Fear, they couldn't think of anyone else who could casually cast Cause Fear and even scare their enemies to death.
A Gnoll, its entire body jet black and moving like a blur, appeared. It licked its lips with its scarlet tongue, its metallic claws gleaming coldly, and grinned maliciously, "The flesh and blood of the Godsbane are indeed extraordinary! I sense a vibrant Hit Points! Perhaps after the ritual is complete and we kill him, we can have a feast!"
A massive, Half-Breed Orc strode out of the forest, carrying a giant battle axe weighing nearly two hundred pounds. He roared, "He is prey offered to my My Lord. Only after the ritual is completed can we decide how to dispose of his body."
Soren gripped his Scimitar tightly, his gaze fierce as he watched the approaching Elf Ranger.
The other party's intentions are extremely malicious!
They actually planned to lure these hunters here! Soren, his killing intent palpable, said in a low voice, "Once he gets close, try to control him. I'll take care of killing him!"
Goria nodded slightly, her eyes also filled with murderous intent.
Taking down this guy might stop the hunters' attack, and even if the chance was slim, it was worth a try. Besides, this guy running this way definitely wasn't up to any good. The Elf Ranger was getting closer. But he stopped before entering Goria's Spell range. He leaped onto a high place and shouted to the Malarite in all directions, "I am not the only Godsbane! That little girl over there is also a Fear God Child!"
"I don't believe it!"
"Look over there."
He seemed to have activated some special ability, raising his hand and pointing in Soren's direction.
A Fear Aura erupted!
Soren's mind was filled with terrifying images: mountains of corpses, Sea of Blood, piles of bones, and various other cruel and horrific scenes. However, his will was not so easily shaken; he suppressed the fear in a mere instant. At the same time, a series of data flashed before his eyes:
"You are affected by the Fear Aura!"
"Willpower check triggered!... Successfully passed the [Scare] lethal judgment!... Successfully resisted the effect of the Cause Fear!..."
Goria's willpower was clearly extremely strong; she only paused for a moment before quickly recovering.
But what no one expected was...!
Vivian, standing behind Goria, suddenly trembled all over, then her eyes widened abruptly, her cute little face turning deathly pale. Her complexion seemed to be slightly bluish from fear, as if she was trying her best to suppress Endurance something. When her emotions reached a certain limit, she suddenly let out an extremely sharp scream!
--"ah!!!"
An invisible sound wave spread out, hitting Soren first. His ears were ringing, and blood Sisi from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Then came Goria, who was standing next to him. Her face was deathly pale, as if she had triggered some kind of Spell. Instantly, a beam of light protected her, and she swayed and almost fell to the ground.
A terrifying sound wave spread out.
The Malarite nearby fell in droves like wheat being harvested; at least half died instantly from the sonic waves, and the rest were all bleeding from their seven orifices, their figures visibly swaying. The only ones less affected were the powerful hunters, who were fourth-tier professionals; this level of attack could only injure them, but not kill them.
The Elf Ranger grinned maliciously and sneered, "Did you see that? She's also a Fear God Child!"
"It seems the two people beside her are failing. The newly awakened Child of Fear is extremely weak. Why don't you take them out first? Taking them out should be easier than taking me out, right?"
The dark-skinned Gnoll grinned maliciously, glanced at its prey, and said with a ferocious expression, "I love your wicked heart!"
"However, by offering two Godsbane as sacrifices, we will surely receive a reward from our My Lord!"
An invisible wave of sound spread rapidly, and all the wild beasts within a five-kilometer radius seemed to be greatly frightened, frantically fleeing in all directions for their lives.
Inside an ancient cave, a druid who had been meditating with his eyes closed suddenly opened them.
He slowly stood up. As an Elf, he was exceptionally tall Toughness, like a solid rock. He walked heavily out of the cave, looked at the chaotic forest in the distance, and murmured, "Who frightened them?!"
An Eagle descended from the sky, transforming upon landing into the figure of a druid who humbly bowed his head, saying, "Earth Walker!"
Further afield.
In a dark, underground chamber, the Black-robed Priest on the altar suddenly opened his eyes. A gleam of light flashed in them as he fanatically declared, "The first Godsbane has awakened!"
"Let the Hand of Despair set out! Find him at all costs!!!"
Time stood still at this moment.
Suddenly, dense blood vessels appeared in Soren's eyes. This was because the power erupting within him caused his blood to surge, his heart to race at its limit in an instant, and adrenaline to be secreted frantically. The excessive blood congestion turned his pupils blood red, and his face became somewhat distorted, his expression extremely ferocious. His previously injured body began to gradually recover. As his large amount of Slaughter Experience was consumed, his injuries became lighter and lighter, and his figure became increasingly blurry, as if he was about to disappear into the shadows.
Behind him, Soren's shadow twisted and contorted!
The next moment.
He charged toward the Elf Ranger before him, his figure vanishing into thin air, and the entire Material Plane completely lost track of him in that instant!
