Soren walked on in the cold wind.

Although he was certain the Phantom Circus he'd encountered held some secret, he had little interest in getting involved. Trouble often comes of its own making; he had to learn to control his excessive curiosity. The others in the Phantom Circus were relatively easy to understand, but the only ones Soren couldn't fathom were the Elf girl and the woman inside the carriage who never showed herself. The thin layer of ice on the carriage's edge left a deep impression on Soren; the woman inside seemed to possess an uncontrollable power.

Of all Spellcasting Class, Wizard possess the best control over Spell power.

Then there are the priests and druids; although their power comes from Deity and faith, they control it just as easily. The most uncontrollable power is the innate ability of Sorcerer, which is why Goria worries that Vivian will cause great destruction. The kingdom of Arendelle they are going to is also home to a dangerous Sorcerer whose soon-to-be-crowned Princess. The more powerful and talented a Sorcerer is, the more dangerous they are; it will take them a long time to learn to control their power.

The one inside is definitely not Wizard.

Therefore, there is a greater than 50% chance that she is a Sorcerer, and a powerful one at that, Sorcerer cannot fully control her power.

In comparison!

Vivian is far superior in controlling her power; she experiences far fewer energy outbursts than other Sorcerer do.

The Sorcerer's tendency to be aloof stems from early energy outbursts; sometimes, their uncontrollable power can even harm those close to them.

Snowflakes drifted down from the sky.

The snow wasn't falling heavily, but it still covered Soren in a layer. He shook his cloak, letting the snow fall to the ground. It was nearing afternoon when he passed through a dense, snow-covered coniferous forest. The road ahead gradually widened, meaning he was approaching human habitation. There weren't many Goblin Kobold in the Land of Ice and Snow; the climate was simply too cold. However, there were also thick-furred Bugbear, creatures even more dangerous than Gnoll.

The creature was said to be Goblin, but its size and appearance varied greatly. Perhaps it truly had some branch of its bloodline.

Subspecies are creatures that are very prone to genetic mutations!

Soren walked for about ten kilometers and faintly heard music, a somewhat mournful melody. He frowned Listen for a moment, then headed in the direction the music was coming from. Camping in the wilderness of the Land of Ice and Snow was extremely difficult because the climate was so cold; sometimes he would wake up completely frozen. The temperature here was consistently below 0 degrees Celsius. Soren planned to find a human town to rest and recover, and also to replenish the number of Spell he knew.

A group of people appeared ahead.

They mostly wear fur coats, the most important possession for human families in this Land of Ice and Snow. Their hair is relatively thick, and their faces are somewhat like those of Scandinavians, not as diverse as those in the south. Black eyes and black hair are very common in this world (even among Elf), and some Avatar of Deity resemble them. However, people north of the continental shelf tend to have more Europe features. In areas closer to the desert, racial characteristics are even more pronounced. Experienced people can use this to determine where someone comes from.

Soren had very distinct southern features; his hair was flaxen with dark brown hues, and his pupils were almost blackish-brown. He was partly human and partly Elf. So when the group saw Soren, they immediately recognized him as not being a native of the Land of Ice and Snow, but Adventurer from outside.

An elderly man from the North stepped forward, glanced at Soren, and said slowly, "Outsider, where are you headed? Outsiders aren't exactly welcome here these days."

Soren leaned slightly forward, glancing at the corpses gathered in the crowd. They were holding a funeral. He replied, "I am a traveling Adventurer. I wish to stay in a nearby town for a while."

He glanced at the center, where three corpses lay on the ground, all adult males, causing him to frown slightly. He slowly said, "May their souls rest in peace. I'd like to ask what happened? Why are you not welcoming outsiders?"

Something must have happened.

Three adult men don't die suddenly; look at the scale of their funerals. The deceased must have had some status.

The elderly man hesitated for a moment, then exchanged glances with the others before slowly saying, "Recently, a group of Evil Fallen have entered the Kingdom of Ice and Snow. Among them are terrifying Witch have bewitched many people with their Spell, and many have been harmed. Our town is also under threat, and the sheriff has sealed off the town, now forbidding outsiders from approaching."

"Maybe you could try somewhere else!"

Soren frowned and took a step forward. A noticeably Toughness man stepped forward, placing his hand on his weapon. The elder waved them off; his extensive experience told him that lone Adventurer were not simple, and there was no need to provoke them directly. That was why he had politely refused; otherwise, he could have simply had him expelled. With a series of deaths in the town, outsiders were already barred from entering.

Soren seemed to have noticed something, and turned his head, saying, "May I see these corpses? Perhaps I can be of help."

The elderly man hesitated for a moment, then nodded gently.

It was clear that someone among the others wanted to say something, seemingly disapproving of this disrespectful act towards the deceased, since the funeral had already begun, but they were stopped by the elders.

"Excuse me."

Soren pushed through the crowd and saw a woman with red eyes standing beside him, holding two children. Having lost the breadwinner of her family, her future would be difficult. Without a substantial fortune, she would have no choice but to remarry; otherwise, it would be very difficult for a woman to support two children. Soren noticed a wound on the corpse's neck. He opened the deceased's eyes to examine them, then pressed his finger against the skull.

The three corpses were somewhat similar; all were adult, Toughness males.

Their expressions were somewhat eerie and distorted, as if they were in great pain before death. But amidst the pain, there was a sinister smile, and a Gold Daler was placed on their lips. This is a tradition in the North regions; in their legends, one of the God of Death is very fond of wealth, and the coin placed on their lips is an offering to them for their journey.

The wealthy should use the Gold Daler. The Commoner should use the Silver Daler, and the poor should use the Copper Daler.

North tradition holds that the souls of the dead are first taken by the God of Death, who then decides whether these souls return to the realm of the Deity or are reincarnated in the River Styx.

The first recipient of a soul is undoubtedly the God of Death. They are born with immense power. The Death Pantheon is one of the few pantheons that has ever had Pantheon of Overdeity Deity. The ancient Grim God of Death, the Lord of the Dead, the King of the End of All Things, and the Death Recorder still exist in some corner of the River Styx.

He was once the ruler of the Netherworld, though he has now retired to seclusion.

This incredibly powerful ancient God of Death is the only Ancient God who possessed Overdeity in the past and has not yet perished.

He has existed for an unknown amount of time, and it is said that He has been waiting for the moment when all things come to an end!

He awaits the end of the universe, recording his final death, thus fulfilling his ultimate mission.

Regarding the [Overdeity] at the level of a ruler, He is also the only standard that can be clearly measured, because He personally separated His own power and bestowed the Death Portfolio upon three Deity. This Ancient God of Death, who is considered the standard of Overdeity, created three [Greater Divinity] death deities from the dispersed Divine Power, and also separated the Portfolio to form Death Pantheon that covers the Multiverse.

Just how powerful is this Ancient God of Death?

The information Soren had gathered was unclear; the only thing he could understand was that a Time of Troubles had occurred in the past, but it only affected the Celestia and did not reach the Abyss or Hell. The turmoil was also small-scale, concentrated only in the Material Plane, and did not affect the Elemental Gods or some Ancient Deity. It was a small-scale Time of Troubles during which three Death Overdeity joined forces to fight nearly half of the Overdeity of the Upper Planes. Although they ultimately failed, the consequences still affect them to this day.

The template for Child of Slaughter is said to be a descendant of the God of Slaughter, one of the Dead Three.

And not even a direct descendant!

Much of the information has been lost, especially after the rise of the Arcane Empire. There is a very long gap in time, with a blank period of more than three thousand years in the written records.

Intrigue theories were quite prevalent for a period of time in Soren's memory.

Because the Destruction of the Arcane Empire coincided with the disappearance of the Overdeity, and the Overdeity has never reappeared since the Destruction the Arcane Empire, some speculate that one of the Deity of the Overdeity lost in this contest. The Arcane Empire also lost, and only the Gods of the Celestia continue to exist.

Otherwise, there's no way to explain why the Arcane Empire would research Elemental Annihilation matter and such a terrifying existence Neutron Star Golem!

Moreover, the last small-scale unrest was caused by the Overdeity Deity taking away the divine Portfolio of other Celestia Deity. Intrigue theorists believe this was enough to make the other Gods want to rebel or even kill the Overdeity Deity. They also cited some information that the Arcane Empire was capable of helping to kill the Overdeity, because someone had been to [The Clockwork Nirvana of Mechanus] (Challenge Rating 25).

Intrigue theorists have also attempted to speculate on the Truth this Time of Troubles.

Unfortunately, there was no useful information, because this time, not only the Gods of the Celestia, but also the Ancient God of the Abyss Hell and the Elemental Plane all lost their Divine Rank power.

This time, it was clearly beyond the Overdeity to accomplish, because this time, not a single Deity was spared!

The ancient God of Death, who supposedly relinquished most of his Divine Power, was said to have been defeated.

Soren lifted the clothes off the corpse, an act that angered the others and even made them want to attack, because he then directly stripped the dead man of his clothes.

Clang!

Soren drew his Scimitar and pointed it at those who were about to attack, causing them to involuntarily take a step back. He frowned as he examined the wounds on the corpses, which were covered with gruesome and shocking injuries.

Soren's face was incredibly grim. He used his fingers to separate the mangled flesh and muttered, "Serpent Whip!?"
