Frost Pteranodon
Anyone who has climbed a mountain knows how difficult the mountain paths can be.
Soren walked relatively steadily, but carrying someone on his back was much more tiring. His maximum load capacity was around 300 pounds; anything above that began to severely impair his mobility. Although Soren possessed a strong Constitution, his strength was only 14 points, roughly equivalent to a strong laborer in the general human category. A weight of around 100 pounds was still within his tolerance range, but his stamina was depleted much faster. He basically had to rest after walking a short distance to ensure his explosive power wouldn't be affected in combat.
Under normal circumstances.
Adventurer need to keep their physical fitness above 70%, ideally between 80% and 90%.
The chances of encountering unexpected events in the wilderness are not low. Soren has faced sudden battles more than once, so he always maintains his physical strength above 80%. Whenever he feels even slightly tired, he stops to rest and allow his strength to recover to over 90%. They are approaching the activity range of the Frost Pteranodon, and the danger of Subspecies Dragonkind is no joke. Soren doesn't want his physical strength to be insufficient before the battle even begins.
There was a faint fragrance at the tip of my nose.
It was hard to describe the scent—it was floral or something else—but it smelled very pleasant, with a unique, fresh fragrance characteristic of a young girl. Occasionally, a strand of hair would brush against Soren's cheek, tickling him slightly. Princess Anna's breathing was even as she seemed to be observing Soren's ears. For some reason, she felt an urge to reach out and pinch them, because the more she looked at them, the more she felt Soren's ears were slightly pointed. She even reached out and touched her own ears to compare.
She could feel two soft mounds behind her, which would occasionally wriggle slightly, perhaps out of embarrassment. After walking for a while, the slight friction had already made the girl's cheeks blush slightly, not with adult desire, but more with girlish shyness. As a princess of Arendelle, Anna had received a very comprehensive education, and the current situation did indeed make her a little shy. Sometimes she could also feel the palms of her hands on the back of her legs were very warm, almost inexplicably hot.
The wind and snow were heavy on the mountaintop.
Soren remained relatively calm, his attention focused on his surroundings, especially the trails in the sky. Frost Pteranodon could fly in such weather and even launch dive attacks. Occasionally, he would feel the girl on his back wriggle slightly, a faint soft touch, but it wasn't enough to arouse any other thoughts in him. Putting aside Soren's own composure and the environment he was in, the knowledge he had gained in the Underdark alone was enough to keep him unaffected.
The eldest daughters of the Drow were all masters of seduction; how to Charm males was even one of their main courses of study!
It's like how people learn geography and religion along with their school education.
Indistinctly visible.
Soren seemed to hear some sounds in the cold wind. He carefully put the girl down from his back and said in a deep voice, "This is about it. Find a safe place to hide, and remember not to come out later."
Frost Pteranodon.
One of the Draconic Dragon Pteranodon, Dinosaur Pteranodon n't have Dragon Scale; they only have a single layer of Dragon Hide, making them less vulnerable to attack. They have Toughness hind limbs, with forelimbs attached to the wing bones. When walking on the ground, they fold their wings. They live in small groups on mountaintops in cold regions, typically consisting of one male Pteranodon and two Pteranodon. Occasionally, their cubs can be seen.
Dragonkind have difficulty reproducing; Pteranodon only lay eggs about once every three years, and their distribution around the world is very scattered.
"Frost Pteranodon [Draconic] (Tier 4) (Social)."

"Treasure reward: 1.5x."
Difficulty level: C+.
Soren found a crevice in the rocks on the mountaintop. After calculating its size and confirming that Pteranodon of that size couldn't possibly squeeze in, he whispered to the girl beside him, "Stay here and don't move. And remember, don't come out later."
Hunting Dragonkind is an extremely dangerous activity.
He wouldn't be able to pay attention to the girl next to him once the fight started, so he had to give her some serious instructions.
Princess Anna's little face showed a mixture of excitement and nervousness as she gripped her Longsword tightly, whispering, "Don't worry, I definitely won't run off and cause you any trouble."
very good.
Soren nodded slightly, then began preparations.
Going straight to the Frost Pteranodon and fighting it one-on-one is suicide. A single swooping attack can instantly kill a fourth-tier professional. These Pteranodon can weigh around three tons, are about seven meters long, and have a wingspan of about five meters. Their Toughness limbs can be used to Wing Buffet, with enough force to knock back an adult mammoth several meters. When they hit a person, no amount of armor will help; even Supernatural Equipment cannot deflect such ferocious force, capable of breaking a person's spine.
Pteranodon have a strength between 20 and 22 points, and their actual burst damage is much higher than that of other creatures with similar strength.
However, Dragonkind also have a weakness: most of them are not very agile.
Some pure-blooded Dragonkind only have 10-15 points of agility; their size determines that their flexibility will be greatly reduced.
Their biggest advantage is that they can fly!
Soren took out the javelin and reassembled its metal head with tools. For dealing with Dragonkind, Steel weapons were best, and heavier ones were preferable. He secured the javelin to his back, ensuring it could be drawn and thrown in an instant. Then he began preparing other tools, traps somewhat like tripwires. Soren secured them with chains and then twirled them slightly in his hand. This thing was somewhat like a lasso, but made of metal and longer, with balancing balls at both ends. If thrown and hit, it could temporarily restrict the Pteranodon's flight.
Dragonkind have very high resistance.
The venom had little effect on them, and Soren didn't waste the expensive Wyvern Venom, simply loading the Heavy Crossbow and hanging it on his waist.
Then, he glanced at the girl beside him, turned around, and disappeared into the swirling snow.
"Be... be careful!..."
Princess Anna watched Soren's departing figure, opening her mouth as if to say something, but then swallowed it back. She shrank back slightly, clasping her hands tightly to her chest, her forehead bowing low to her fingertips, as if in prayer, murmuring, "Goddess of Ice and Snow!... Please bless him to return safely!..."
The wind and snow at the mountaintop slightly affected visibility.
During this season, Frost Pteranodon will not hunt frequently, reducing their hunting frequency to about twice a week.
Soren did not enter Stealth mode because the footprints left by a person on the snow were too obvious, and the Frost Pteranodon's nest was in a very difficult-to-access location.
The sounds ahead grew clearer.
Soren rounded a rocky outcrop and came upon a steep cliff face, about fifteen meters high. Atop it stood a rudimentary Dragon Nest, constructed from various shrubs and branches, resembling a giant bird's nest. In the center sat a massive Pteranodon, Pteranodon by two smaller ones. He also seemed to see Dragon Egg, which was undoubtedly a good thing, as the Dragon Egg would prevent the Pteranodon from swarming at him, making the fight much easier for Soren.
Frost Pteranodon are grayish-white and have excellent eyesight; after laying their eggs, they will vigilantly observe every corner.
Finding Soren was not difficult.
Stealth might not be enough to fool them in special environments. The Frost Pteranodon in their hatching stage are extremely aggressive. Upon seeing Soren, the Male Frost Pteranodon roared, a sound that seemed to be a language, as if warning him to leave immediately. Subspecies Dragonkind don't possess much intelligence. Finding Soren making no move, the Male Frost Pteranodon immediately spread its wings and took flight, creating a whirlwind of snowflakes, soaring dozens of meters into the air.
Dragonkind are very fierce in their attacks.
However, the general pattern can still be grasped. The Male Frost Pteranodon circled in the sky once before swooping down towards Soren. As it opened its gaping maw, filled with sharp teeth, it spewed out a torrent of icy frost. This was the first attack of Dragonkind; more than half of all Dragon preferred to use their Dragon Breath to eliminate their enemies.
The Frost Pteranodon swoops down at incredible speed, spewing its breath just ten meters from the ground before flapping its wings and soaring back into the air.
This is a crucial moment in the fight against the Pteranodon!
Although they look like wild beasts, they are extremely cunning and dangerous. Adult Pteranodon rarely land to fight their enemies. They will hover in the air, waiting for an opportunity to attack before diving down. The power of this dive is enormous; even a near- Legendary Shield Warrior would be injured if they took it head-on. Pteranodon are always looking for an opportunity to kill their target with a single dive.
They will only fight on the ground when they are absolutely desperate!
To deal with them, Soren had to force them down, and to force them down, he had to withstand their Frost Breath. As a strong stench assaulted his nostrils, he abruptly twisted his body to create some space, then lashed out with the iron chain in his hand. Soren's left arm froze into ice at a visible speed, half his body covered in frost, but the chain in his hand flew out swiftly, Constrict the Pteranodon's long, narrow neck before binding its left arm and wing bones with sharp claws.
It wasn't a tight, elaborate binding; it was simply Constrict once and hung on the side wing bone.
The Frost Pteranodon was not injured.
However, its flight path changed completely. Despite desperately flapping its Dragon Wing, it could not take off at all. It almost fluttered as it plummeted from a height of more than ten meters, and then crashed into the cold rocks on the ground with a thud.
This is when it was truly injured, its wounds even more severe than when Soren struck it! (To be continued~^~)
