Telepathy?
I've really earned the Blessed Feat.
Soren's gaze swept over the crowd, but the woman was nowhere to be seen.
Who exactly is she?
The blessing ceremony doesn't seem to be that simple, does it?
Is it really just a matter of kissing one's forehead, then the cheek, and saying a few words? Soren remembered receiving blessings from the Spider Queen and the Goddess of Wealth, and neither ritual seemed so simple. The Spider Queen Spider Queen's blessing was performed by Lolth cleric, and involved some Evil and forbidden rituals to please her. Spider Queen bestow her blessing. (The Spider Queen must be pleased.)
The Goddess of Wealth is a bit simpler; either you make a corresponding contribution, or you donate a large sum of money.
Divine Blessing aren't as powerful as one might imagine, but they're certainly not weak either. The most basic buff is Saving Throw throw bonus; most Deity can grant an extra 1 point of damage dealt. Then, depending on the Portfolio's abilities, there are other bonuses after the blessing. For example, Soren currently has immunity to misfortune. The Goddess of Wealth grants a trade bonus, and some priests receive trade favors; the Church of Fortune's control over Trade is quite significant.
The most powerful Divine Blessing are limited to a few types, which can additionally increase one's attributes.
Soren's most vivid memory is of the Succubus Queen's blessing, which grants an additional 2-4 points to attributes and an extra 4 points of [Desecration] on any Saving Throw throw, including attack, hit, Dodge, and fortitude. This special blessing seems to be called ' Queen's Kiss '. However, its cost appears to be extremely high, as pleasing the Succubus Queen is far more difficult than pleasing the Spider Queen. The Desecration bonus always comes at a price. The Spider Queen's blessing also has a Desecration bonus, requiring a Evil ritual of corruption. [Divine Blessing, Profane Ritual]
I don't know why!
Blessings from Evil God tend to be very powerful, while those from benevolent Deity are often less so, unless one becomes Chosen or one of their favored.
Soren had a slight suspicion that he had encountered Avatar of Deity.
If Deity were to abandon the fight against the Energy Storm and simply sever their Portfolio, they could fall to the mortal realm prematurely. Generally, no Deity would do this, as they are well aware of the immense dangers of descending to the mortal world. However, the Goddess of Misfortune might not have such concerns. There are virtually no Legendary Professional capable of killing her; non -Deity would find it even more difficult to deal with her than Greater Divinity Deity, because a single instance of being afflicted by misfortune could wipe out a large group of enemies.
An enemy suddenly comes knocking, you encounter monsters as soon as you step outside, and you inadvertently offend other Legendary...
Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine.
Misfortune seems too supernatural to be worth risking one's life for.
However, if Soren encountered Avatar of Deity, the blessing he received would likely be more than this. Deity blessing is equivalent to the treatment of Favored Soul, usually accompanied by additional abilities and attributes. That woman could be Favored Soul, or Chosen of the Goddess of Misfortune, and it's possible she was possessed by the goddess. It's just unclear why she would bless him and why she would come to the Land of Ice and Snow at this time.
The Deity of the Chaotic Alignment are having a headache.
While those in the Lawful Alignment can be somewhat governed by rules, those in the Chaotic Alignment act entirely according to their own whims, with the degree of deviation increasing the degree of chaos. Their behavior becomes increasingly difficult to judge by common sense; she might even destroy a town or bring down disasters in a certain place on a whim or because she dislikes something. This is how the Lady of Calamity has built her infamous reputation.
Soren didn't hesitate for long.
Encountering Legendary, Chosen, Favored Soul, Godsbane, and even Avatar of Deity Avatar will gradually become commonplace. Basically, every Deity has their own Chosen and Favored Soul, and every Church has two or three Legendary Professional. The special circumstances of Time of Troubles force these individuals to come out into the world; normally, they would stay in their own territories. For example, Lich. If left undisturbed, these Lich can quietly spend hundreds of years researching.
Unless there's a specific purpose or a lack of materials, they almost never go out!
Speaking of Lich, Soren recalls a Lich about to emerge. It was an extremely powerful Shadow Lich slaughtered the Chosen of the current God of Rogues, and then fought this Lesser Divinity Deity. The outcome seems inconclusive; in Soren's memory, the God of Rogues didn't die at the hands of the Shadow Lich. After this Lich appeared, it was roughly time for the Spider Queen to appear. The cunning and powerful Spider Queen sensed this was a crucial opportunity.
She actually gave up her Portfolio and descended to the mortal realm. Then, using the Drow she controlled in the Underdark as her base, she began to plan ahead to deal with the Time of Troubles!
This woman is no ordinary person.
If there is any Deity that Soren fears and dreads, the Spider Queen is probably the only one!
She even left an avatar in the Demonweb Pits, leading the other Deity to believe she was still battling the Energy Storm to prevent herself from falling to the Material Plane. But in reality, she had already secretly entered the mortal realm, and it wasn't until halfway through the Time of Troubles that the other Deity discovered she had already woven a giant spider web there!
At that time.
The Spider Queen has become the hunter, and the other Deity have become her prey.
The Seductive Black Widow.
This is a special code word, representing the Avatar mark of the Spider Queen's descent, known only to the most devout fanatics.
Fortunately, it wasn't the Spider Queen they encountered.
Soren, with Princess Anna in tow, quickly left the town. As they drew closer to Arendelle, a gentle sea breeze could be felt, and the air carried a faint scent of the ocean. Arendelle was a large city built on the coast, and the most prosperous Trade city in the Land of Ice and Snow. Soren also saw other crosses and fleets of ships passing by in the distance. Merchants rarely traveled to the Land of Ice and Snow by land; they would offer sacrifices to the Goddess of the Sea, the Lord of Storms, or both before setting out.
Sacrifices to Deity are very serious matters.
Large-scale sacrifices can even attract the attention of the Deity, who will turn their gaze upon them and bestow upon the sacrificers the rewards they deserve.
This is a Divine Power mark that can deter sea monsters from attacking the fleet.
Unless you're incredibly unlucky and encounter Sea Monster, the journey is generally smooth. You might even survive a storm, provided you've offered sacrifices to the Lord of Storms.
A traditional Deity ceremony requires at least a thousand offerings of Gold Daler, and it is not held very often throughout the year.
Princess Anna looked somewhat excited.
Perhaps it's because so much time has passed, and it's finally time to go home.
Soren, however, grew increasingly serious and cautious. He stopped, gazing into the distance, and said, "If I were the Chosen to Goddess of Torment, I would lie in ambush near Arendelle, monitoring wherever you might appear. After all, you will eventually have to find a way back; in other words, the safest place might be the most dangerous."
These words sent a chill down Princess Anna's spine, and she murmured, "What should we do?"
Soren pulled her towards the roadside and said in a deep voice, "Do you have any way to contact the Princess? With her intelligence, she will surely notice this. My concern is that if we encounter the Deity Chosen, we won't have a chance to escape. We'll be captured before the Princess even arrives. To be honest, I have almost no chance to fight against enemies of Legendary or higher!"
There's simply no way to fight.
A Finger of Death, an instant-cast Hold Person, or even an instant-cast Charm Spell could potentially kill Soren instantly.
The hurdle of Legendary is just too difficult to overcome!
Princess Anna clearly realized this as well, and her expression turned somewhat worried. To put it bluntly, even if they encountered someone to meet them, without the presence of the Princess or other Legendary Professional, the other party could kill them both instantly, or take Princess Anna away and then open a Portal to leave.
Who will be able to stop her then?
Soren has always been a very cautious person, and he likes to anticipate the worst-case scenario first.
Better safe than sorry.
There are many things you shouldn't do rashly and risk your Hit Points for.
Suddenly, Princess Anna seemed to remember something, and her eyes lit up. "I've got it! When I was little, if I was in a bad mood or felt really sad, as long as I thought of my Elder Sister, and she wasn't too far away, she might be able to sense it. Maybe that way my Elder Sister can find us in advance. Once she knows where we are, she'll definitely come to take me back!"
Telepathy?
It seems there are distance restrictions, right?
It's possible for sisters to have a telepathic connection, but such a vague connection wouldn't be able to pinpoint their location, right? However, since the Princess is a legendary Fatespinner, perhaps she really does have a way to find them. If all else fails, she can use Divination to locate them. As long as there's a vague direction, she should be able to find the two of them easily.
Princess Anna, true to her word, immediately sat down on the ground, almost kneeling, and earnestly pleaded, "Elder Sister! Come save me quickly!... Elder Sister! Come and take me home!... Elder Sister!... Anna misses you so much!..."
This scene is so beautiful that it makes you want to laugh.
Soren initially wanted to laugh, but gradually his expression became serious as Princess Anna's demeanor grew increasingly solemn, even appearing somewhat pious.
This isn't some kind of telepathy; it's clearly a prayer to the Deity!
