Wandering Bloodline
Don't mess with those local bullies.
Although Soren had long harbored the idea of purifying his bloodline, he had never intended to harm the local Vampire. The main reason was that these creatures, having existed in the area for so long, were incredibly difficult to deal with, both in terms of connections and strength. He was fairly certain the newborn wasn't a local Vampire; otherwise, she would have been captured long ago. If Soren remembered correctly, the Vampire Boss of the Shipwreck Port was an earl who had existed for over eight hundred years and also controlled a group of pirates.
He was a rigid and mean old man, a typical high-level Legendary Creature with a morbid pursuit of rules.
Although Vampire have long Hit Points, unfortunately, they don't live very long.
Unless they choose to remain hidden in the graveyard, they'll eventually be hunted down by Adventurer, Paladin, or other people of good faith and Justice. Even a Legendary Vampire can be instantly killed by a single, Level 8 ' Sunburst,' leaving not even a speck of dust. Vampire are notoriously wealthy; Time of Troubles, countless Quasi-Legendary Wizard and priests hunt Vampire down, making a quick buck and getting rich quick!
If Soren had mastered sunfire Spell, or possessed a Sunburst scroll, he would dare to challenge the Legendary Vampire.
The priests of the Lord of Radiance kill Vampire in batches.
Soren prepared highly concentrated Holy Water, which cost him nearly 200 Gold Daler's.
This Holy Water is a special item created after a ritual, and its effects are stronger than ordinary Holy Water. It can deal 60 points of Divine Damage to any Evil creature. It can even deal double damage to Undead. If it weren't for the obvious weaknesses of Dark Creature and Undead, many people would have switched races back then, after all, the attribute bonuses provided by Vampire are too high. Sunfire Spell deal double damage to them, Dominate Undead can potentially control them directly.
Soren didn't return until evening.
Vampire don't operate during the day, so there's generally no problem during the day.
When he returned, he saw Yaliana wiping the corner of her mouth, a trace of blood faintly visible. This made Soren frown. He slowly said, "You went to kill someone again?"
Yaliana paused for a moment upon hearing this, then whispered, "I've already disposed of the body."
Soren nodded slightly, his expression shifting between anger and uncertainty. This newborn's thirst for blood was far too intense. She had just killed an adult yesterday, and today she couldn't resist wanting to drink blood. While this might accelerate her growth, the chances of it being exposed were extremely high. If she didn't learn to control herself, she wouldn't live long at all.
"Next!"
Soren tossed over a large cloak and said slowly, "Let's leave this place. You go and lure the Tracker out."
Yaliana nodded and then put on the cloak.
As they came downstairs, the burly landlady was berating someone, apparently because one of the waiters hadn't shown up. Hearing this, Soren glanced back at Yaliana, whose gaze Dodge. It seemed she was involved in the whole affair. This discovery undoubtedly sank Soren's heart. Vampire rarely hunted near him, and this newborn was utterly ill-mannered and clueless, even attacking the inn's staff.
Fortunately, she didn't expose herself, otherwise Soren wouldn't have been able to protect her, and might even have been implicated.
The landlady looked like a level three Adventurer, and the other people in the inn weren't easy to deal with either. There are too many Adventurer in this world who retire and take up simpler jobs to support themselves.
"It seems I miscalculated a bit!"
Soren was quite dissatisfied, thinking to himself, "A newborn Vampire is a ticking time bomb!... She simply can't control her urge to drink blood!..."
The two walked towards the Shipwreck Port.
Soren didn't walk with her; Yaliana left alone through the main entrance. As she reached the street, another female Vampire was clearly standing in the spot Soren had seen the day before. These female Vampire seemed to appear in shifts. This beautiful Vampire glanced at Yaliana, then walked directly up to her, her expression cold, and said, "Get out of here immediately, you wanderer!"
"Otherwise, the Progenitor will execute you!..."
The internal conflicts within the Vampire are extremely intense. The battles between families are incredibly brutal!
It's difficult for any place to accommodate another Vampire family; even wanderers are ostracized. This is because Vampire feed on humanoid intelligent beings, and the appearance of another family means a struggle for food territory. If wanderers hunt on their territory, they'll have to deal with the consequences and the mess that follows. If they weren't on the street, that Vampire might have attacked Yaliana directly, killing her or taking her back to his lair.
Vampire can live for a very long time.
Therefore, they live much more cautiously, otherwise they would find no place to be accommodated.
Yaliana's expression didn't show much fear, suggesting that she wasn't an ascendant from Vampire, but rather had directly consumed the blood of a high-ranking Vampire, making her a relatively high-ranking Bloodline. Therefore, the beautiful woman hadn't realized she was a newborn, only assuming she was a wanderer; otherwise, she might have already been planning to attack.
Newborns are in great danger!
Yaliana bared her teeth slightly, her expression somewhat fierce, before walking outside. It seemed she knew how to control herself and didn't want to be exposed in a crowd.
Soren followed behind, his brow furrowed.
Before parting ways, he had already told the other person the direction to go, and then silently followed behind.
Elders can track their offspring and even mentally control them, but there's a limit. If they exceed this limit, their offspring will gain freedom. Many Vampire are wanderers who commit crimes to increase their strength, eventually creating their own clans once they reach a certain level of power. These Vampire start as servants, and gaining freedom can take a long time, unless they escape like Yaliana.
The Shipwreck Bay very dangerous and has a chaotic security situation.
As Yaliana went outside, she was even stopped and harassed by a drunken sailor because of her appearance. If she hadn't remembered Soren, she might have seduced him and killed him in some secluded corner. However, she still punished the drunkard by twisting his arm. When she smelled a hint of blood, her pupils dilated slightly, but recovered after a while, and she quickened her pace to run outside.
Soren followed silently behind, the darkness providing him with perfect cover.
He seemed to hear something and looked up at the rooftops in the distance, but saw nothing. However, he slowed his pace and caught up with Yaliana from the other side. The elder who turned her into Vampire might be nearby. Other Vampire in Shipwreck Bay could confuse their senses, but tracking them in the wilderness would be much easier.
Yaliana quickened her pace!
She seemed to sense something too, her expression turning slightly frightened, and she fled further away.
Time passed little by little.
She had already walked more than ten kilometers in the darkness, with Soren trailing behind at a leisurely pace. Even Yaliana didn't know where he was. The woman was clearly getting scared, unsure of Soren's location, and even a little worried about whether he had caught up. But now she had no choice but to move on; revealing her whereabouts would mean being discovered by her elders very soon.
Figures flashed through the woods!
Soren frowned slightly, noticing that there was more than one enemy; at least three Vampire had followed him out.
"Giggle."
A strange, coquettish laugh suddenly came from ahead, and then a charming woman emerged from behind a tree. She was dressed in an exquisite aristocratic lady's dress, her fingers gloved white. She toyed with something, her voice playful. "My dear sister! Where do you think you're going to run off to? Do you know that your actions have greatly angered your master?"
Defection is more serious than usurpation.
This seriously challenged the authority of the Vampire patriarch and violated their long-standing rules.
They are Lawful Evil beings.
Vampire strictly adhere to rules passed down for thousands of years, rejecting anything that brings chaos and will execute their targets if necessary.
Sizzle!
Yaliana opened her mouth, revealing sharp fangs. Her pupils turned a ghostly green, and black claws sprouted from her pale fingers. She stared at the woman before her with eyes filled with hatred, saying, "I have no master!... I am free!... You killed my family!... You monsters!...
"A monster?!" The alluring woman laughed, her whole body trembling with laughter, before her expression suddenly turned icy. "Aren't you a monster yourself? Look at yourself now!..."
"To be able to enter the Bloodline form so quickly, you must have killed quite a few people, right?"
Yaliana's expression was grim. She stared at the woman before her, her gaze slightly dazed, and said as if trying to console herself, "It's all your doing!... You've turned me into this!... I killed only those who deserved to die!... None of those men were good people!..."
"Is that so?" A cruel smile appeared on the alluring woman's lips. She suddenly made a gesture, and her figure pounced forward instantly. Two other figures rushed out from the side, seemingly intending to subdue her in one fell swoop.
Three afterimages struck.
Yaliana let out a low growl and lunged at the alluring woman before her, as if she wanted to take her down with her!
