The Wandering Drow
Dark Maiden.
This is a very special Deity, because she is the only Good Alignment Deity among the Drow.
The Dark Maiden is a goddess filled with melancholy and sorrow. She protects not only all the good Drow but also those who yearn to return to a Drow life on the Surface World. Most of the Evil Drow harbor rage against this kind goddess, but for those struggling to escape the Spider Queen's Web, she is a beacon of hope. The Drow Dark Maiden is inherently fond of beauty and peace, but she is equally ruthless in retaliating against those who attempt to harm her followers. She is a tall, naked, dark Elf with smooth, supple skin and long, flowing silver hair that reaches her ankles.
She is known by many as the 'Naked Woman' and is a very kind and benevolent Deity.
Sadly, she died.
She was the daughter of the Elven Overgod and the former Elf Queen, who is now the daughter of the Spider Queen, but she ultimately died at the hands of her own mother.
The Spider Queen remained the ultimate victor. She killed her own daughter, the Dark Maiden of the past, and seized her Divine Power and Portfolio, thus completely unifying the Drow of the Underdark. No Deity had ever made Soren so fearful; the Spider Queen was absolutely unique. He still remembered the trepidation he felt when serving this Evil goddess, and the capricious nature of her desires and needs. If a woman's nature is fickle, then a goddess's nature is even more fickle, and no one could fathom the Spider Queen's thoughts.
The Dark Maiden inadvertently joined the Spider Queen's rebellion in the past, and was therefore Banishment by the Elven Overgod.
She protected the kind-hearted Drow who longed to return to the surface world. She once had many followers and devotees in the Underdark, but after her fall, these people were mercilessly slaughtered by the Spider Queen. The Elven Overgod attempted to accept some of her followers, but later, some Strife seemed to arise, and other Elf could not accept these fallen kin. In Soren's memory, the Dark Maiden's followers, priests, and followers all met tragic ends. If captured by the Spider Queen's priests, they would all suffer inhuman torture, or even be transformed into Drider.
Soren was truly surprised!
He never expected to encounter Drow overseas, especially one that appeared to be a branch of a certain family.
To adapt to life on the surface, they seem to have interbred with humans.
Upon hearing Soren's words, a trace of sadness was clearly revealed in the eyes of the Drow before him. He stared at Soren with a silent gaze, seemingly unconcerned about the Scimitar held to his neck.
There are many tough drow among Drow because their living environment is very Cruelty.
Perhaps due to racial innates, male Drow are all skilled warriors. Female Drow, on the other hand, have an advantage as Spellcaster. Their tradition is that only females can become priestesses, and even among the followers of the Dark Maiden, the vast majority are female priestesses. The other man silently gazed at Soren, a sense of having seen through life and death lurking beneath his surface, his eyes filled with a profound weariness. One could only imagine the countless hardships he had endured. However, when he saw the Scimitar in Soren's hand, his expression shifted, and a flicker of excitement appeared!
"Icetail!?"
He spoke slowly, his voice hoarse. It was Drow, a pronunciation that caught the attention of his two companions. When they saw the Scimitar in Soren's hand, a look of shock crossed their faces, and they immediately knelt before him. The leading Drow, his expression excited, reached out and gently stroked the Scimitar, Icetail. Then, as if electrocuted, he withdrew his hand, and then humbly bowed his head to Soren, saying, "You are the master of Icetail! Please accept my humble respect!"
Icetail?
Soren paused for a moment upon hearing this, then looked at the Drow's expression and frowned slightly, as if he had remembered something.
It seems the Legendary Scimitar, Icetail, was once owned by a Legendary Drow who held immense prestige among the followers of the Dark Maiden. If these Drow were indeed followers of the Dark Maiden, they might actually recognize the Scimitar. But how could they maintain their faith so long after the Dark Maiden's passing?
These guys have really strong wills!
"Perhaps they are useful to them?"
Soren pondered for a moment, then looked at the Drow before him and asked directly, "Where do you come from? How many people are left in your tribe? Why are you here?"
Faced with Soren's barrage of questions, the Drow hesitated for a moment, but after exchanging a glance, they slowly recounted the events to him. It turned out that after the Dark Maiden died at the hands of her mother, the Spider Queen, their people began to flee the Underdark. Some were accepted by the Elven Overgod, but ultimately, they split due to their inability to assimilate. Another group came to the Surface World and mixed with human blood, thus giving birth to a group of Half-Drow. For example, those before him possessed one-quarter human blood.
These Drow are having a tough time!
Having lost the protection of the Dark Maiden, they were utterly helpless lambs. The priests of the Spider Queen hunted them down, and various surface powers showed them no goodwill. After all, Drow were inherently Evil creatures, and many races could not coexist with them; many Elf even harbored hostility towards them during their long struggle. In the end, they were forced to migrate, moving to many different places before finally finding a small space to survive in the desolate Overseas Regions.
However, without the Deity they worshipped, their population dwindled and their power weakened.
Even with many skilled Warrior, they might not be able to gain the upper hand against some indigenous tribes. They had lost their Deity, lacked the blessings of priests, and lost their traditions and knowledge, making it difficult for Wizard to emerge from among them. The only remaining Spellcaster were a very small number of Sorcerer. In this world without Spellcaster as a backup, relying solely on a group of skilled Warrior would hardly change anything. They lacked food, weapons, and various other resources. They had not yet adapted to the primitive and savage environment, and they had no way to resist attacks from various monsters.
These three individuals secretly used Spell to disguise themselves as humans and came to the Shipwreck Bay. Their original plan was to quietly purchase supplies to survive this difficult period. However, they underestimated the cunning of the human gang, and their deception was exposed during their operation. The outcome is predictable: they were surrounded by an enemy force several times their size and captured by Sea Wolf. They were then imprisoned in the cellar, and the Sea Wolf probably didn't know what to do with these Half-Drow.
It truly is a history of blood and tears.
If a group loses the protection of the Deity, it's already a miracle if it doesn't perish; living a good life is almost impossible.
Without Deity, there are no priests; without priests, there is no Divine Magic.
Having lost their healing Divine Magic, the blessings of the temple, and a large number of Spellcaster, relying solely on a mere remnant of Sorcerer traditions, it would be nearly impossible for a race to maintain its strength. The weaker they become, the less capable they are of cultivating Wizard, and in the end, they will likely become nothing more than Warrior. Sorcerers are always indispensable; otherwise, Soren wouldn't have been called a sorcerer. A race's high-level military force must include Spellcaster; their existence is like a nuclear bomb, possessing a deterrent effect.
Can we subdue them?
Soren was pondering a problem. Based on his understanding of the Drow, he knew they were naturally inclined to submit to the strong, especially when they were in dire straits. However, even a weakened Drow tribe was still stronger than him in his current state. Given the Drow servile nature and their tendency to only submit when threatened, Soren might not be able to subdue them without demonstrating sufficient power.
He gazed at the Half-Drow before him and asked in a deep voice, "How many of you are left?"
The Drow hesitated for a moment before replying, "We still have over eight hundred people, more than half of whom are Warrior."
More than four hundred Drow Warrior?
A glint suddenly appeared in Soren's eyes, and he was immediately very excited, because these were all Warrior close to the third tier, and it was quite normal for them to become fourth tier warriors after some training.
He pondered for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "I will give you a cargo ship and a number of people, loaded with food, medicine, weapons, and supplies. You can take it back to your tribe."
Surprise!
An unbelievable surprise!
The three Drow stared at Soren with unimaginable eyes, then, as if on the verge of tears, they knelt on the ground, burying their heads deeply, and exclaimed excitedly, "Thank you, Your Excellency!... Thank you so much!..."
They certainly seem to be having a very hard time.
Racial barriers, unfamiliar environments, and the inability to Trade with other creatures made it difficult to live a primitive and wild life overseas, relying entirely on self-sufficiency.
Because there are too many dangers there.
Soren looked at the Drow before him, paused for a moment, and then said, "These resources should be enough for you to last for a while, but you will have to choose your own path in the future. Without the protection of the Dark Maiden, you probably won't even be able to defeat the natives. I can offer you help for some reasons, but only this time."
"As for your future, that depends on your own choices."
"It won't be long."
"I will also venture into and develop Overseas Islands, and I hope you can give me the answer I want."
Soren slowly stood up.
He then waved his hand, ordering his men to prepare a cargo ship and supplies for them, and a large amount of goods were stockpiled on the island.
