Drow Council
Overseas Islands.
This is a primitive and wild region, divided east and west by the Amazon River. The east is the territory of the Amazon Warrior, while the west is the land of the indigenous people. Their struggle has lasted for many years. Because the Lord of Storms doesn't really manage the mortal Church, the temple hasn't spent much effort pacifying these natives. The natives retain their primitive Totem beliefs, from which powerful spirits and Demigod are born, and they are difficult to destroy without Deity power.
This is a very dangerous place.
Even Amazon Warrior are extremely cautious when venturing into the tropical jungle.
This place is home to many powerful monsters, bizarre plants, dangerous environments, ferocious natives, and all sorts of unexpected yet incredibly dangerous things.
recent.
On an island near the North, a group of outsiders appeared.
They hadn't been there long, and their numbers weren't large, but their strength was formidable. In a short time, they occupied a portion of the island, which was about 120 square kilometers in size. These outsiders with gray-black skin looked like Elf, but they were far more ferocious and skilled in combat. The local natives temporarily retreated because of their power, but sporadic battles still occurred from time to time, as the natives were very hostile towards the outsiders.
The topography of the Overseas Islands must be mentioned here!
Due to a major historical upheaval, the Overseas Islands experienced a collapse and shift of continental plates, resulting in its fragmentation into hundreds of islands of varying sizes. The largest of these is the Amazon Jungle, with an area almost equivalent to three times the size of the Overseas Islands archipelago. Other scattered islands range in size from hundreds to thousands of square kilometers to only a dozen square kilometers. These islands are relatively densely packed, connected by shallow sea areas and Inland River, thus appearing as a single entity to the outside world.
This place was once a continent.
Ultimately, due to certain catastrophes of the Age of Arcana, it became what it is today.
The arrival of the Drow provoked hostility from the natives, who had not yet adapted to the primitive and wild environment. They even viewed these Overseas Islands as more dangerous than the Underdark. For a long time, their lives were quite difficult. Recently, however, things have improved slightly because their messengers brought back a shipment of essential supplies, temporarily meeting their needs. Unfortunately, these supplies will only last them for three months at most, after which they will return to their impoverished state.
Dark Blade Andri was in a bad mood.
He sat on the camp's perimeter wall, observing his surroundings, toying with a dark blue blade in his hand. Ever since accepting the help of "Throat Cutter -Slitter" and bringing back a shipment of vital supplies, his mood had been far from pleasant. It wasn't because of the lord's help or demands, of course. As Drow, he knew all sacrifices required a return. What displeased him was the High Priest's opposition. This rigid old woman had rejected such a crucial opportunity to help her people escape their predicament simply because of the phrases "humans cannot be trusted" and "surface creatures harbor ill intentions towards us."
Plane handsome Drow carrying Longbow appeared from a distance and then quickly approached.
Dark Blade ordered the others to open the gate, then frowned and asked, "Rasleerk, how's the situation? Have those natives made any new moves?"
This is a Ranger.
The Ranger of the Drow elves are all highly skilled; only they can easily traverse the Cruelty tropical jungle.
The young Drow Ranger leaped lightly onto the wall and said in a deep voice, "The natives are behaving well; they're just monitoring the surrounding area. As long as we don't step into their territory, there shouldn't be any major conflict in the short term. However, I've noticed that there seem to be more Man-Eating Plant nearby. There must be some kind of powerful energy field beneath this island. Although it doesn't affect the living, it's causing many plants to gradually mutate."
Dark Blade - Andri nodded slightly, then frowned and asked, "What's the movement of those ants?"
It was as if she had remembered something.
The young Drow Ranger's expression changed. He whispered, "They've already migrated to the other side of the island, but we don't know when they'll return. We lack sufficient supplies and more Alchemist's Fire to deal with them. The next time they migrate over, we'll have to escape to the sea."
Dark Blade - Andri sighed, then slammed his fist on the wooden fence, exclaiming anxiously, "Those damned ants!..."
These terrifying creatures.
In his long Hit Points, he had never imagined that ants could be so dangerous. When their numbers were unbelievable, these seemingly insignificant creatures, which he could crush with a wave of his hand, could even take down a Dragon!
They are Army Ant.
Creatures at the top of the food chain in the Tropical Rainforest!
During their first encounter with these terrifying ants, their colony lost thirty-seven members, including five high-level professionals, a talented Sorcerer, and a Warrior on the verge of entering the Legendary Domain. Completely powerless to resist, when the ants swarmed in, even the near- Legendary Warrior only lasted three minutes before being devoured into a skeleton. If they hadn't retreated quickly enough and hadn't received help from Spellcaster, the entire colony would likely have been devoured by these hordes of terrifying ants.
Army Ant.
The nightmare of the Tropical Rainforest consists mostly of ants that crawl on the ground, but one in ten are winged ants that can fly.
These ants are so numerous as to be uncountable. During their migration, they prey on any creature they encounter. They possess incredibly sharp mandibles, Dark Blade that they even suspect they could gnaw away the scales of Dragon bit by bit. These terrifying ants are the apex predators on the entire island. They have even witnessed a Wyvern being completely devoured in just five minutes, unable to escape.
If these ants didn't have a predictable pattern of movement, they definitely wouldn't have survived until now!
Dark Blade - Andri sighed and said slowly, "Since we returned, the tribe's population has decreased by eight. If this continues, our people will become fewer and fewer, and we may eventually disappear from this land completely."
Damn it!
"Why not accept that human's help? Even if it comes at a price, it's better than watching your people dwindle away, isn't it?"
The nearby Drow remained silent.
After the Dark Maiden's fall, the High Priest led the tribe. Although she was very stubborn and rigid, she had ruled the tribe for a long time and weathered many crises. Her authority was deeply ingrained in the people's hearts, and few dared to question her decisions to their faces. If the tribe hadn't been in increasingly dire straits, Dark Blade wouldn't have easily questioned the High Priest's arrangements.
"Dark Blade Walker"
A Drow female appeared, glanced at the others on the fence, and said in a deep voice, "The Priest requests your presence; there are important matters to discuss."
Within the group, most of the males are Warrior, Ranger, and Rogue, while Spellcaster are mainly concentrated among the females.
They still maintain the tradition of females having a higher status!
Without any hesitation, Dark Blade jumped down from the fence and walked towards the largest wooden house in the center.
The room was already quite crowded, mostly with female Drow and a few male Drow like Dark Blade. Seated at the very top was Plane aged female Drow Priest; given their long Hit Points, her aged appearance testified to her long lifespan. This was the High Priest of the Drow race. Although the Dark Maiden had perished, she still possessed the ability to cast Divine Magic, albeit greatly weakened; she remained the most powerful Drow in her race.
Clang!
The High Priest tapped the ground with his staff, signaling the others to quiet down. During this time, there had been considerable debate and conflict within the tribe, mainly concerning whether to cooperate with the human who had aided them, whether the human harbored ill intentions, and whether surface humans could be trusted. The Drow were inherently driven by Intrigue and betrayal; even their faith in the benevolent Drow Dark Maiden couldn't completely change their nature, especially since the Dark Maiden had been dead for some time.
"Cough cough!..."
The aged-looking High Priest coughed, then said in a hoarse voice, "I just received a message from the Merrow Corsair; perhaps we should reconsider some things."
The High Priest possessed many mysterious abilities, and after arriving here, she established contact with the nearby Merrow Corsair.
Although their relationship was fragile.
The High Priest glanced at the others and said in a solemn voice, "I have just learned that the human who provided us with assistance has killed one of the Three Great Pirate Kings of the South Coast, the [King of the Swamp]!..."
"His power is not to be underestimated; the sea creatures in the vicinity have all heard of his formidable reputation!"
"I think we should reconsider."
This statement caused a huge uproar; they had naturally heard of the Three Great Pirate Kings of the South Coast.
Those are all Legendary powerhouses!
A strange expression crept across Dark Blade's face, a mixture of joy and sorrow that he couldn't quite place. He felt a strange dazzle about everything before him. Initially, he had gone to great lengths to persuade others to cooperate with this Throat Cutter, but the proposal had ultimately been rejected by the High Priest. Yet now, having heard that he had killed one of the Pirate King, the [King of the Swamp], the High Priest had actually offered to reconsider.
What an ironic outcome! (To be continued~^~)
