Drow Warrior! (Second Update)
Port Tyler
Inside a tavern near the harbor, the Half-Elf first mate sat at the bar waiting, a flirtatious prostitute beside him, whom he didn't even glance at. Outside the tavern hung a sign depicting a great white shark, and a number of people waited, many of them looking menacing, deterring ordinary passersby from approaching. About ten minutes later, a thin man entered, glanced around, and then turned and went inside the tavern.
"How about it?"
The Half-Elf first mate glanced at the thin man who entered and said in a deep voice, "Have you found the person I need?"
The thin man quickly lowered his head and replied, "Because it's nearing the end of the year, many people have left this area, Dwarf have become less common lately. It's probably because of the City of Wealth; the entire coastal region is a bit desolate now."
The Half-Elf first mate frowned upon hearing this and said in a deep voice, "I don't care about any reasons. The person I need must be brought to me, or I'll throw you into the sea to feed the fish."
Upon hearing this, the thin man broke out in a cold sweat and quickly replied, "I will definitely get it done as soon as possible, I will definitely get it done as soon as possible."
"However, many people can make bricks, but it's hard to find a true expert. I've heard that some Slave have recently been transported from the East, including some craftsmen who know how to make Porcelain. It seems that these Slave were sent here for some reason. Anyway, many people have received the news recently that some of them will be auctioned off in the City of Wealth, and others will be sent to the Duchy of Rosado."
The Half-Elf first mate showed a hint of interest upon hearing this, and slowly said, "Eastern Slave? Porcelain?"
"Yes," the thin man nodded quickly, "Among the Slave sent from the East, there are quite a few artisans who know how to make Porcelain. It seems that something major happened over there, and many Easterners were reduced to Slave. Since these people know how to make such exquisite Porcelain, making some simple bricks and tiles should be no problem for them. They should be able to meet your requirements."
Porcelain? Slave?
The Half-Elf first mate raised a hand to stroke his chin, as if deep in thought, and slowly said, "Looks like they're somewhat useful. Where are they located? You also need to find the Dwarf who built the Smelting Furnace. You know Lord Throat Cutter's temper; if he gets upset because things are going too slowly, I'm afraid another batch of heads will be lost in Port Tyler."
The thin man nodded quickly, said a few more words, and then left.
After he left, the Half-Elf first mate beckoned to the scarred man beside him and ordered, "Go to Serpent Island to gather men and prepare a fleet of fast ships. Your Excellency will definitely need those craftsmen; let's go and seize them."
They were pirates.
Pirates buy things because they have principles; they rob because it's their professional ethics.
Scarface's henchman quickly nodded and left.
The Half-Elf first mate nodded in satisfaction. He then began to consider how to seize the Slave with minimal casualties and as quickly as possible. Throat Cutter Slitter needed a great deal of labor recently, and these Eastern Slave seemed to be worth taking.
On the other side.
After leaving the tavern, the thin man quickly weaved through the alleyways, entering through a back door and arriving at a room. Powerful Amazon Warrior Guard the outside. Inside stood a woman with a scar on her face, holding a Dagger. She glanced at the thin man and asked, "How was it?"
"Looks like they've taken the bait," the thin man quickly said, bowing his head.
The Amazon Women with a scar on her cheek smiled knowingly. "Very good! That shipment is secretly controlled by the Pirate King Asroder. Once these Throat Cutter ' henchmen seize the goods, their conflicts will quickly escalate. Pirate King Asroder has long felt threatened and dissatisfied with the Throat Cutter ' rise. He should be making a move now, shouldn't he?"
The thin man quickly nodded in agreement, then hesitated for a moment before saying, "However!... that shipment seemed to have carried more than just Slave, didn't it?... Some of the items inside are quite valuable, and they'll probably end up getting the goods!... Besides, Asroder probably already knows what we've revealed to them!..."
The Amazon Women glanced at him disdainfully upon hearing this. She slowly said, "It's just fifty or sixty thousand Gold Daler worth of goods. If it can make the two Pirate King fight, paying a small price is worthwhile. That man thinks he can run rampant on the seas just because he has the support of the Naga royal family. He's been secretly doing things behind the backs of the Temple of the Sea more than once or twice. Now we can just sit back and reap the benefits."
The thin man fell silent, but his expression held a strange hint of worry.
Instigating a conflict between the two Pirate King on the South Coast will certainly bring some pressure; if either side finds out, his final fate will be tragic.
Now, I just hope that once they start fighting, no one will care about him anymore, he's just a nobody.
Overseas Islands.
Soren returned to the camp at the crack of dawn. Vivian seemed to have been awake all night, only closing her eyes drowsily after sensing his return. The young girl was worried he might be in danger. Because of the ' Limited Wish ' that granted them a kind of telepathic connection, she planned to teleport to Soren's side should he be in peril. Now that Soren was back, she was naturally relieved, and the already sleepy girl quickly fell asleep.
It's truly enviable; this little girl spends most of her time sleeping, yet her strength is increasing faster than Soren's.
It's like she can increase her fighting power even when she's sleeping!
Upon his return, Soren immediately became busy, strengthening security by adding more sentries and researching how to eliminate the native tribes.
There are two main problems in dealing with indigenous tribes.
The first is the Spirits they worship and sacrifice. The vast majority of these Spirits possess Legendary- level combat power, and there isn't just one Spirits; if a tribe maintains an ancestral sacrifice faith, the number of Spirits might be quite large. The most powerful among them are generally Legendary or higher, while other Spirits are the souls of high-ranking Warrior in the tribe that directly transformed into Spirits after their deaths—somewhat similar to [War Spirit]. This is more common in Totem- worshipping regions, and is prevalent in the far North and Iceland.
The Spirits is somewhat similar to the Holy Spirit; both possess a faint Divine Power!
Dealing with Spirits is not so easy.
Anything associated with the power of Deity is not easy to deal with. Even if Soren and Vivian join forces, it would probably be quite troublesome to deal with the Spirits sacrificed by a tribal tribe for generations.
The second point is the indigenous people's mastery of poisons and medicines. Whether it's the Blowgun that forcibly knocks someone unconscious or the poison applied to weapons that Antiaris Toxicaria, these things are quite dangerous and troublesome. Moreover, these agents take effect very quickly; once someone is affected, they will collapse from poisoning in no time.
Soren was already having a hard time dealing with them, let alone the other pirates.
The most troublesome thing about the Overseas Islands is that there are too many poisonous things here. If you have even a little knowledge of pharmacology, you can easily find the poisons to use.
Soren frowned in thought, his fingers lightly tracing patterns on the table.
The sky was already beginning to lighten.
Since Soren ordered the lifting of the alcohol ban to allow the pirates to celebrate the New Year, the entire camp was filled with a festive atmosphere. No matter how fierce the pirates were, they were still human, and humans are bound to have other emotions. Decorations for the New Year were unnecessary, but a bonfire had to be set up, and large bowls of wine and large chunks of meat were a must. Some pirates who knew how to hunt were preparing to hunt some game today, while others were planning to go and catch some seafood.
Many pirates were originally fishermen or sailors.
Recently, the pirate henchmen have figured out Soren's eating habits. They know that this Throat Cutter prefers seafood, such as sea cucumbers, shark fins, and lobsters. He even enjoys king crabs, which are rarely eaten. Many seafoods have a strong fishy smell, and Spice are very expensive in this era. Many people simply boil their catch in water without any seasoning.
A group of pirates prepared to go to sea, intending to catch some rare seafood to offer as tribute to Soren.
But at that very moment...
Suddenly, the silhouette of a ship appeared in the distance. It didn't look like Warship, and it wasn't flying any flags. Soren's underlings knew what was important; upon seeing the approaching ship, they immediately sent their men back to report. Then, they dispatched a fast boat to row towards the approaching vessel, intending to inquire about its identity.
But it seems they don't need to ask anymore!
As soon as the pirate leader got close, he recognized who the person in front of him was. The other person had very obvious features, such as dark skin, long silver hair, and scarlet pupils.
Drow!
Strictly speaking, it should be a hybrid Half-Drow.
Standing on the bow was the Drow Warrior whom Soren had released. Behind him stood a whole squad of Drow Warrior. Although their equipment looked inferior, with many pieces showing signs of damage, their imposing presence far surpassed that of the pirates. The pirate captain in front of them was momentarily stunned, but did not stop them to inquire, and simply allowed the Drow to dock.
This day.
After waiting for nearly a month, Soren finally received a response from the Drow.
However, it was already much later than he had estimated!
