Low-tier God-slaying Spell
There are many hidden compartments and secret rooms inside the ruins.
This is related to the habits of people in the current world. Whether nobles or Wizard, many like to set up hidden compartments and secret rooms in their homes to store things. This habit is similar to how powerful landlords in ancient Central Plains liked to dig cellars to store gold and silver, and some even placed the hidden compartments in places that others could never imagine. Therefore, in adventures in underground ruins, it is necessary to have a teammate with excellent search skills and an intuition for treasure locations. Such a person is usually Rogue.
A teammate with the instincts of Treasure-Seeking Rat is highly valued when adventuring in wilderness ruins!
Soren's intuition wasn't very strong.
Strictly speaking, he had virtually no intuition-based talent; he relied entirely on careful observation and his rich past experience to notice something amiss with the wall: different marks at the seams, and a slightly lighter color. He then tapped the wall—the hollow wall was easily detectable with a tap—and used his Scimitar to chisel it open. For such ancient ruins, finding the mechanism to activate was impractical, as it might be completely destroyed.
Back when Soren was just starting out, he was blocked by a hidden compartment in a stone statue for a long time and couldn't find a way to open it no matter what he tried.
Finally, it was one of the Barbarian among their companions who struck with an axe, revealing that the mechanism to the hidden compartment was broken. They realized that without brute force, they would never find the opening mechanism even after searching the entire world. So Soren began to study the aesthetics of violence, mastering demolition techniques through exploration of underground ruins. The key to these techniques was destroying the mechanism without damaging the contents inside. It proved to be a very useful skill, proving highly effective in many underground ruins.
Clang clang clang!
Soren tapped the box lightly to make sure it didn't resemble a trap, then prepared to pick the lock. However, he only managed to insert the lock pick a couple of times before pulling it out. He picked up the hilt of the Legendary Scimitar, Icetail, and smashed it directly against the lock on the box, banging it three times until he finally broke the lock.
Soren glanced back at Vivian, whose mouth gaped slightly. She had seen her brother skillfully Lockpicking before, but never so violently smash it open. After all, the Soren of the past considered himself a master Rogue, and he hadn't possessed such strength. Soren turned back to Vivian and said slowly, "The lock inside is rusted; it's impossible to open."
"Step back carefully."
"I wonder if there are any traps inside."
Vivian nodded slightly, then took a small step back.
There's a saying in the world of adventure, "Break locks, break doors, break chests. Repairs, replacements, and survival guaranteed!"
Soren placed the box on the ground and carefully opened it. There was no sound of any mechanism being triggered, nor Spell Trigger; it looked like just an ordinary box. These traps were impossible to guard against. He was used to being cautious; he knew that many Rogue had been caught off guard. There wasn't much inside the box. Soren saw two gems, one Diamond and the other a Agate, then a Spell Scroll and an empty Crystal.
"Next."
Soren tossed the Diamond and Agate to Vivian behind him. The little girl caught them, her face beaming with joy. Her beautiful eyes narrowed into crescent moons as she smiled. She wiped the dust off the gems with her sleeve and then put them away. Vivian loved gems. Whether they were Diamond, Emerald, agate, or Agate, she loved them all. The little girl now had a small box full of them, partly from Soren's gifts and partly from the pirate captains she had robbed.
But it's mainly Lillian who would do that!
In response, Lillian retorted confidently, "I'm the Fear Witch! Wouldn't it be embarrassing if I didn't have lots and lots of gems? So what's yours is mine, and what's mine is still mine!... Yes, yes. That's how it is!..."
The bottle is empty.
It's possible that some kind of potion was contained in it in the past, but these Crystal all use oak stoppers, so the potion inside has probably long since evaporated. Even if the potion were still inside, Soren wouldn't dare taste it—it's at least a hundred years old. Back then, someone died a bizarre death after daring to taste an Alchemy potion from a ruin that sank a thousand years ago; they were instantly poisoned. One of Soren's rules for adventure is to never eat anything from underground ruins.
Including water!
The Spell Scroll was stored relatively well, which surprised Soren slightly, as the material of Spell Scroll must be of very high quality to be able to be stored for such a long time. He carefully opened the Spell Scroll, afraid that it would break due to excessive force, but it seemed that Soren was worrying unnecessarily. The scroll was made of an unknown leather, which now felt quite tough to the touch.
This could be a high-level Spell Scroll!
Thinking of this, a hint of surprise and expectation appeared on Soren's face, because the value of high-level Spell Scroll was quite astonishing, and if he could get one, his trip would not have been in vain.
but.
When he saw the markings engraved on the Spell Scroll, a hint of disappointment appeared on Soren's face.
The Spell Scroll have markings indicating the level of the recorded Spell.
This is a third-circle Spell Scroll. Because there are three intersecting engravings on the top corner, it's unlikely that someone would intentionally make a mistake like this. Therefore, this Spell Scroll should only contain a 3rd-level Spell.
3rd-level Spell.
It doesn't seem to have much value!
Soren had already purchased a batch of Spell Scroll from the City of Wealth, a significant portion of which were 3rd-level Spell; the one before him might even be one of the ones he had bought. However, when Soren looked at the Spell Scroll before him, he was suddenly bewildered, because he couldn't understand the symbols on it. It seemed to be Spell Scroll from the Arcane Empire era, using some kind of difficult-to-understand Spell code. This kind of scroll was like an anti-theft tag; you could activate it to use it, but it was very difficult to copy or transcribe it.
This looks complicated!
This was Soren's first thought, because there was no need to use secret words for 3rd-level Spell unless it was a very special and powerful Spell, or a unique Spell created by a particular person. Spell are not static; they are constantly being innovated and changed. However, most commonly used Spell are the same, while uniquely created Spell rarely spread, and some have even been lost. For example, the Spell ' Mordenkainen's Sword,' which is now commonly used by Wizard, was originally Spell unique Level 7 Spell, and only later did it gradually spread to other Wizard.
can't read?
No problem!
Soren could study it at his leisure once he got back, and besides, Vivian was right beside him; just because he couldn't understand it didn't mean Vivian couldn't. Soren carefully picked up the Spell Scroll and handed it to the little girl beside him, saying in a deep voice, "Vivian! See if you can understand the symbols on it! This seems to be a special Spell Scroll."
Huh?
The little girl took it upon hearing this, then frowned and flipped through it for a moment before whispering, "Brother! It's all written in Spell, and I can't understand a lot of it, but I do recognize the name of this Spell."
"Ma... Melf's Minute Meteors!..."
"This seems to be a 3rd-level Spell, and it even uses 'Meteor' as its name. It looks pretty powerful?"
Melf's Minute Meteors?!
When Soren heard the name of the Spell, he was visibly shaken.
A look of surprise immediately appeared on his face, and he murmured, "No wonder! No wonder! It's this Spell! No wonder it needs to be recorded in cryptic text!..."
Three-Ring God-Slaying Spell.
The legendary "Melf's Minute Meteors!"
Soren's deep impression of this 3rd-level Spell is simple: someone had used it to successfully slay a god, killing one of the earliest Demigod Lich to appear during the Time of Troubles, and also the first Demigod Lich to be killed by a challenge beyond its level! ' Melf's Minute Meteors ' thus became famous, almost becoming the number one low-level Spell for challenging higher-level opponents, and the only low -Spell Spell of breaking through the power field of Deity laws!
"Melf's Minute Meteors [Evocation, Transmutation]: The Spellcaster creates miniature fireballs in their hand. These energy creations are considered +5 Supernatural Weapon, dealing 3 + Spell power as explosive damage and an additional 3 Fire Damage to the target. The number of micro meteors created equals the caster's level +1. No other weapon can be used in combat until all micro meteors are consumed."
A Spell that doesn't seem particularly remarkable.
From a damage perspective, it's no match for Fireball, as a high-level Spellcaster's Fireball can deal nearly 100 points of Spell damage. However, ' Melf's Minute Meteors ' has a unique feature: it's a Magic artifact, considered a +5 Supernatural Weapon, meaning even Demigod Lich cannot be immune to its explosive damage. In terms of penetration, even Soren's Icetail can't compare to Melf's Minute Meteors, hence its nickname ' Dragon-Slaying Meteor Fire '.
Because it can break through the Dragon's Dragon Scale, the effect is similar to a grenade explosion; wherever it hits the Dragon, a small dent will appear.
at last.
Another reason it was so popular at the time was that it looked really cool when you performed it.
The Spellcaster's hands are enveloped in flames, forming two small fireballs that appear in their palms. When attacking, the Spellcaster throws these fireballs, which roar out and explode violently upon contact with their target. Simultaneously, new fireballs will automatically generate from the Spellcaster's hands until the maximum number of fireballs the Spell can create is reached.
Imagine the Wizard looking down at each other and hurling fireballs!
That's really cool.
Unfortunately, this Spell is not easy to learn and has always been considered a rare Spell.
