Dragon-Slaying Preparations
A series of screams rang out.
Although a large number of the Native Savage had been wiped out, the pirates brought by Soren had also suffered heavy losses. This was because the natives, using rudimentary weapons, had coated them with poison to increase their lethality; such poisoned weapons were troublesome if they injured anyone. Fortunately, these pirates were Elite Troops, and most of them were Constitution capable; otherwise, they would likely have died in the first round of Poison Saving Throw. As long as they survived the lethal Saving Throw check for poison, even if poisoned, it wouldn't be completely fatal.
Because professionals in this world generally have stronger Constitution!
"Careful!"
Exclamations of surprise rang out from behind. The natives before them actually knew how to use Blowgun, but these weren't metal arrows; instead, they were sharp, toothpick-like wooden Blowgun. These Blowgun weren't for anesthetic purposes, but rather possessed a potent poison. Several of the Elite Pirate Soren had brought fell to the ground, but fortunately, the others were experienced in combat and quickly held off the natives' attacks. These natives had no armor, wearing only simple Animal Hide; if they didn't dodge the attacks, they could be killed with a single blow.
A series of cold, sharp blades appeared!
As Soren watched three or five of his men fall, his killing intent grew stronger. He activated the final ' Haste on a Supernatural Item using his Scimitar, and then transformed into a blur as he charged into the Native Savage. With the Haste in effect, dealing with these natives became much easier. Soren's twin swords danced wildly, creating a flurry of blades. Blood splattered and heads fell to the ground; within minutes, more than a dozen Native Savage had been slain.
"Gurgle, clatter, heh heh!..."
A strange, eerie cry rang out, and seeing that he was no match for the people in front of him, the Native Savage simply fled.
More than twenty of the Native Savage who initially charged forward died, while the remaining dozen or so escaped back into the forest using their agility. These Native Savage were excellent climbers; once inside the forest, only the rustling of leaves and bushes could be seen before they disappeared without a trace. Soren didn't order his pirates to pursue them, but instead looked at the other wounded and instructed, "Get the wounded to the ship. The rest of you, follow me around this way."
Indigenous peoples are widely distributed.
Indigenous people can often be seen on islands within the ocean.
Soren touched the corpses of the Native Savage before him, finding some strange markings. Then, on the body of what appeared to be a leader, he discovered a wooden sculpture. The sculpture resembled Totem, but it wasn't the beast or monster Soren was familiar with; instead, it looked like a Dragon coiled upwards.
That's right.
The more you look at this sculpture, the more it resembles Dragon.
Upon seeing this object, Soren's expression immediately turned serious, though slightly excited. "Be careful. There should be a Dragon here."
Indigenous people are easily enslaved.
Of course, it's not about being enslaved by humans, but rather by some incredibly powerful and terrifying creatures, such as the Dragon that have made their lair here. If the Dragon so desire, a few Intimidation could turn these natives into their servants. Dragon actually possess a very strong ability to enslave; they can enslave almost any monster as a servant, even including Subspecies Dragonkind and their own kind weaker than themselves. Therefore, never assume that Dragon Slayer means facing just one dragon.
Back then, many people thought they could Dragon Slayer just by reading a few guides.
They had assumed Dragon were mindless, ground-based creatures that would simply fight. But when they actually encountered Dragon, they were all dumbfounded. Warrior couldn't fly up to attack, Wizard ' Spell lacked damage, and archers struggled to pierce its Dragon Scale. When Dragon finally swooped down to give them an opening, it often meant a fatal attack. A hawk's swooping swoop could tear through Leather Armor; just how devastating could a Dragon's swooping swoop be?
Soren remembered this point very early on.
As a melee fighter, he must do his best to prevent the Dragon from flying into the sky to fight.
Because it held the initiative at that time.
Also because it can escape at any time.
This world still has its rules. Even though Legendary Swordmaster's destructive power on the ground is terrifying—he could probably kill a Pure-blood Dragon in one or two rounds—he still can't fly using anything like Battle Aura aura. Most Melee Class are at a disadvantage in the air unless they raise their strength to the level of Avatar.
"Bring the things over here!"
Soren leaped onto a cliff, surveyed his surroundings, and then gazed intently at the snow-covered northern part of the island. He jumped down and ordered his men, "Bring me everything I prepared at the beginning."
"Yes." Soon, some of his men returned to the ship.
About ten minutes later.
You can see someone running over carrying a bundle of javelins, which look somewhat like Harpoon, and some of them are connected by chains.
Among them were Heavy Javelin made of steel.
It looks exactly like a short gun made of pure steel, except that it's used as a throwing weapon.
"Two for each person."
Soren glanced at his pirate crew behind him and ordered in a deep voice, "Leave the rest to me. When the opportunity arises, you attack its Dragon Wing."
The Dragon was incredibly powerful.
Even the White Dragon is extremely dangerous!
Its Dragon Scale Dragon Hide possess formidable protective capabilities. Even if you manage to break through the Dragon Scale, you'll still face a layer of tough Dragon Hide. Therefore, throughout history, in the anecdotes of Bard, finding a weapon capable of breaching the Dragon's defenses seems to be the most crucial element. But in reality, only those who have truly Dragon Slayer dragons know that the most important aspect of dealing with Dragon is disrupting their ability to fly.
There's a saying, "To shoot a man, first shoot his horse; to capture a thief, first capture his king."
The Dragon 'Dragon Wing are the only large area on its body that is not covered by Dragon Scale, and they are also the area with the largest defensive surface area and the weakest defensive capability.
Although this place is not fatal to Dragon at all!
However, the strategic significance of attacking here is enormous, as it essentially destroys half of the Dragon's agility, preventing it from using its Wing Buffet, diving, and sweeping attacks. The protagonist in the Bard's anecdotes could foolishly attack the Dragon 'Dragon Wing vital points, and after a back-and-forth struggle, suddenly seize an opportunity to kill the Dragon with more than half its health remaining in one strike.
But if you play like that, you'll definitely end up in a terrible state!
Heavy weapons are needed to defeat the Dragon.
The Heavy Javelin that Soren brought over were quite important props.
