The night passed quickly.
When Soren woke up the next day, the caravan seemed to be the same as before, but he knew something had fundamentally changed.
Amber City, for example.
Perhaps this city would no longer exist, as he finally remembered where he had heard its name before.
It was a battle in the Legendary Realm!
Legendary Professionals would begin to step onto the historical stage from this night onwards, and their battle against the God Children had only just begun.
At this moment, Soren just wanted to get as far away from them as possible.
As a former Legendary Thief, he knew too well the gap between the Legendary Realm and the Non-Legendary Realm. When he was a Level 19 thief, he was still within the scope of mortals, with no significant changes. But when he became a Level 20 Legendary Thief, he already possessed the ability to travel between the Material Plane and the Shadow Plane, able to traverse space directly with powerful spell-like abilities!
Even Dimensional Anchors couldn't lock him down.
If he couldn't travel between the Shadow Plane and the Material Plane only once a day, he could probably go anywhere in the world.
The Monk's [Transcendent Saint], the Barbarian's [Legendary Berserk], the Priest's [Summon Divine Envoy], and so on. The abilities of the Legendary Realm were already approaching the realm of gods. Even the warriors, who had always been miserable, had their day. [Legendary Tenacity] could allow them to take a bath in lava and come out, and [Legendary Strength] could let them go head-to-head with a Giant Dragon. If it was a Sword Saint advancing to the Legendary Realm, it would be even more exaggerated. A Blade Storm (an advancement of Great Whirlwind) would directly grant immunity to all spell attacks below Sixth Circle, and its lethality would make other professionals blush.
Of course.
It was best not to provoke Legendary Realm Wizards, as many of them possessed 'Time Stop'. At least, don't provoke them until you obtain Demigod Spark. (Immune to time-related Legendary Spells.)
Soren needed to keep his distance from them.
At the very least, until his strength was sufficient, he had to stay as far away as possible from these dangerous existences to avoid being caught in the crossfire and dying without knowing why!
He didn't ponder for long.
Because some commotion outside woke everyone up. A Big Guy had arrived near their camp.
It was an adult Saber-toothed Tiger!
The King of Beasts in the wilderness, which would even include a Digging Dragon (Challenge Rating 10) in its diet when food was scarce.
One of the most dangerous Felines in the world!
When Soren appeared, the others were clearly terrified. Some of the caravan clerks were so scared they collapsed on the ground. This was a male adult Saber-toothed Tiger, about 4.5 meters long, with a tail of 2.7 meters, a shoulder height of about 2 meters, and a weight of about 800-1000 kilograms. Its appearance wasn't much different from other tiger-like creatures, except for a pair of saber teeth about 15 centimeters long in its mouth. These were natural +3 Extraordinary Daggers, usable after simple grinding, possessing extremely powerful penetration capabilities. Many thieves back then dreamed of such a treasure.
This Wilderness King approached the lake. Its extraordinary intelligence caused it to gaze at the humans before it.
After a brief appraisal, it lost interest and lowered its head to drink from the lake. The nearby Caravan Guards were initially terrified, but then some became eager to try, and a portion even cautiously took out their crossbows. Perhaps in their eyes, having already killed several Digging Worms, dealing with a Saber-toothed Tiger like this was not impossible.
"Don't be impulsive!"
Soren quickly reached out and stopped those people, then glanced at the Guard Captain and said solemnly, "This is a Saber-toothed Tiger."
"Its diet even includes Digging Dragons."
"Are you really going to let these impulsive guys attack it?"
A Saber-toothed Tiger weighing a ton.
This was clearly approaching the range of Supernatural Creatures. If it underwent further Elemental Mutation, it could directly cross planes and enter the Outer Planes.
Attacking it was completely suicidal!
A normal Saber-toothed Tiger's Creature Level was 12, but this one's Creature Level was at least 16.
Unless that Mysterious Mistress made a move, everyone present combined wouldn't be enough for it to even gnaw on.
"See those gleaming claws?"
Soren pointed from afar and said solemnly, "Those things can tear through Chainmail with one swipe, and even the Sub-dragon Hide of a Digging Dragon can't withstand a few hits."
"Don't disturb it."
"Such a Wilderness King would never lack food. As long as you don't provoke it, it will leave after drinking."
Soren's judgment was accurate.
After drinking, the Saber-toothed Tiger left quietly, casting a glance at the Grand Carriage in the center before departing.
The Guard Captain clearly showed a hint of anger and pulled out those few impulsive individuals who were about to act to teach them a lesson.
Soren's expression was solemn.
He seemed to recall something, silently gazing in the direction of a certain forest, and then said, "This is the South."
"You are not very familiar with this place, so it's best not to act rashly!"
"Saber-toothed Tigers are on the same level as Winter Wolves. An adult male Saber-toothed Tiger can challenge a small group of Winter Wolves head-on."
"If it weren't for the sheer quantity of Winter Wolves, this would probably be their territory in the North as well."
Winter Wolves.
Large Supernatural Beasts, possessing language abilities, speaking Common Tongue and Giant Tongue, capable of Frost Breath attacks, and possessing extremely excellent sensory Tracking Abilities. Their intelligence was comparable to ordinary humans, but their personality was extremely cunning and cruel. Winter Wolves were one of the most dangerous creatures in the icy plains. Their fur could sell for around 2,000 Gold Thalers in the North, and over 3,000 Gold Thalers in the South.
One of Soren's favorite prey back then!
It could be said that without Winter Wolves, it would have been extremely difficult for him to gather the enormous expenses for advancing to a Legendary Thief in a short period.
As for the Saber-toothed Tiger just now, it could be considered half a Legendary Warrior.
Saber-toothed tigers are apex predators of the wilderness, and it's rare to see them in this kind of area. They usually stick to the plains, following bison herds.
Did something force it to migrate?
Creatures like saber-toothed tigers rarely leave their territory. They'd even fight sub-dragon species, unless faced with something they absolutely couldn't defeat.
"Could it be!?"
Soren calculated his position and his expression turned grim. He realized he wasn't far from where the Ancient Red Dragon had appeared.
The Ancient Red Dragon's appearance was months away.
But that didn't mean it hadn't arrived nearby months earlier, only to be discovered later.
It seemed many major events were already brewing.
The world only learned of them when they happened to erupt during that period.
"Brother."
The girl had gotten up at some point. She glanced in the direction the saber-toothed tiger had gone, her expression not one of fear. Instead, she took Soren's hand and said with interest, "That big cat is so beautiful and majestic!"
"Vivian wants one too when she grows up."
Soren, his expression a little nervous, chuckled and ruffled her little head. "When Vivian becomes a warlock, she can sign a magic pet."
"Maybe she can sign a majestic big cat like that."
The girl was still naive.
She had barely seen any tigers, and none appeared near Amber City. Having never left Amber City before, this was her first time seeing a tiger, and she thought it was just a big cat.
But she wasn't wrong.
Saber-toothed tigers were felines!
The innocent girl didn't notice Soren was joking. She earnestly imagined it, then happily said, "Really?"
"Then it can carry me around everywhere."
"If anyone dares bully me, I'll have it bite them."
"It's so big!"
"It must be very powerful in a fight."
Soren didn't interrupt the girl's innocent fantasy. He simply picked her up and placed her on the carriage nearby. "Then Vivian needs to work hard."
"Big cats like that aren't easy to control!"
After saying that.
He began packing their things. White Horse City was still four or five days away, and the journey likely wouldn't be peaceful.
Soren busied himself packing up the tent and preparing breakfast.
The cute girl sat by the carriage, tilting her head. She propped her chin with one hand and muttered to herself, "How can I make that big cat obey me?"
"It's so big, and I'm so small. I definitely can't defeat it!"
"What should I do?"
The girl frowned, rubbing her head, seemingly finding no solution.
Sigh!
It would be great if she could have a big cat like that.
Its fur looked so warm.
The girl was still lost in thought when, at some point, the Mysterious Caravan Mistress had appeared beside her.
