Eastern Dancer
Pearl of the Desert.
This is a city very close to the Eastern World, and also the boundary of the Death Desert. Continuing eastward from here leads into the Death Desert. It is a very dangerous place, and also a gathering place for the followers of God of Death Naram. Many Portfolio have sprung up in the Death Domain, but the most Evil are undoubtedly the followers of God of Death Naram. This ancient Deity is known as the Enemy of Good, the Life Abhorrer, the Darkness Herald, the King of Gloom, the Flesh Reaper, and so on. From the time of His appearance until now, although He has risen and fallen many times, He has not yet fallen.
These are among the few surviving Ancient God of death!
The followers of the God of Death Naram need no reason to attack others, because their doctrine is to reap Hit Points.
This God of Death hates Hit Points, hates living beings.
Soren arrived here. In this bustling desert city, faces from the mainland were few and far between. This was the territory of the Desert Race, and other races rarely ventured too far in. In the center of the city stood a towering Palace, its walls adorned with exquisite bas-reliefs, and atop the Imperial Palace was a colossal statue of a Phoenix. Legend had Phoenix had once appeared here, gaining rebirth from the flames, making this place a thorn in the side of the God of Death, Naram.
There are quite a few people in the Adventurers Guild.
Soren also unexpectedly saw Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling, but most of the Elf who came here were druids. Since the training of Eastern Monk spread to the continent, many druids would Travel to the Eastern Realm.
"How can I help you?"
A veiled, slender woman from the East, with a delicate waist, appeared before Soren. She was a receptionist for the Adventurers Guild. Due to the different geographical location, things here were naturally different from those on the mainland.
Don't underestimate this woman.
Soren could tell at a glance that she was an advanced Eastern Dancer, and that at least a dozen deadly Throwing Dagger were hidden inside her exotic long dress.
An advanced profession somewhat similar to Jester Dancer.
The Eastern Dancer are proficient in some of the combat techniques of Bard, and have also received some training in the methods of Monk. These women move with sharp and deadly speed, and sometimes even act as Assassin. They are adept at using their beauty and Charm dance to bewitch their enemies; even in battle, they are like leaping and dancing Elf.
This is an advanced profession that requires a lot of talent; it demands not only agility but also charisma.
The Eastern World has many special advanced professions, Soren spotted two or three of Advanced Class Professional with just a glance. Among them were Ronin from the Eastern Waters.
An advanced variant of the Ranger class, a dangerous group of people proficient in swordsmanship.
"I'm going to issue a recruitment order."
Soren glanced at the Eastern Dancer in front of him, raised his hand, took out a mission sheet, and handed it to the woman.
"Um?"
The Eastern Dancer glanced at him, then looked up at him with her azure eyes and said softly, "Exploring Ancient Ruin? A C-level mission? We'll need to recruit some experts!"
"The fee is one thousand Gold Daler, and we will publish your information."
"If someone wants to take on this task, we will send someone to contact you. Please leave us your current address."
Soren quickly settled on the location of the Inn, then glanced at the Adventurer' hall before turning and heading towards the inn. He still needed to learn some new Spell. Recruiting a group of skilled individuals wouldn't be easy. Low-level professionals weren't even qualified to be cannon fodder in the Ancient Ruin. Soren planned to stay here for three days.
They followed Soren's figure as he disappeared.
The Eastern Dancer quickly went to the back of the hall, where a middle-aged man with a thick beard sat. After glancing outside, he asked in a low voice, "What's your background?"
The Eastern Dancer glanced at him and slowly said, "A high-level Rogue. Impressive skills. Probably from the south; you smell of the sea."
"He smells just like that Ronin!"
"He must have been someone who spent most of his life at sea. I wonder why such Rogue would come to the desert!"
Sense Motive.
Eastern Dancer are adept at gathering intelligence; their knowledge is in no way inferior to that of Bard.
"As long as it doesn't cause trouble, it's fine."
The middle-aged man glanced at the mission list and said in a deep voice, "Exploring Ancient Ruin? Every year, these Adventurer come here to die. They have no idea what lies deep within the desert!"
Upon hearing this, the Eastern Dancer shrugged and said with a playful tone, "What can we do if they want to come and die?"
"We can't stop them either."
soon.
The mission announcement was posted, and because it was a C-level difficulty mission, it was placed in a very conspicuous location.
Exploring Ancient Ruin?
"Recruiting experienced veterans? Minimum reward of 5,000 Gold Daler? The releaser is a Rogue? Sounds like a pretty good payout!"
The announcement quickly attracted a lot of attention.
However, most of them weighed their own strength and chose to give up, because many of them were mercenary groups, who at most took on missions to escort caravans. Exploring Ancient Ruin like this was too dangerous, and even with the generous rewards, they weren't confident of success. Most professionals preferred to seek a safer option.
"Looks good."
A Bearded General Dwarf clad in heavy armor glanced at him, then put down his battle axe and said in a deep voice, "Perhaps we can talk to this Rogue."
Taking on a task is certainly not that simple.
Few experienced people make decisions easily; they definitely need to know the specifics of the mission.
Another person drawn to the mission was the Eastern Ronin sitting in the corner. He had a sake bottle next to him and was constantly wiping his sword blade. Only after hearing the commotion of the others did he take a closer look.
Five thousand Gold Daler.
It was already a very generous reward, enough to tempt a professional like him.
Mages remain as rare as ever.
There wasn't a single Wizard in the entire Adventurers Guild, not even Sorcerer. The druids seemed uninterested in such quests; they were always averse to exploring underground, believing it could easily lead to disaster. Many of the druids here were Tree Shepherd, not Sorcerer- based combat druids. Their strength was quite polarized.
Three days passed quickly.
Soren recruited some useful veterans with generous rewards: a Dwarf heavy- Shield Warrior, an Eastern Ronin, and a desert warrior.
There were four people in total, including Soren.
They're a pretty good team, the only drawback is that they're missing a priest.
High-ranking priests remain as difficult to recruit as ever; these individuals hold high positions and rarely risk their lives to earn money.
Unable to recruit Spellcaster, Soren had to postpone the event.
Although he didn't care much, these temporarily recruited teammates hoped to have a Spellcaster by their side, as it would provide them with a greater sense of security.
In the end, Soren had no choice but to raise the reward to eight thousand Gold Daler.
Unfortunately, this still failed to entice the mages, leaving him with no choice but to redirect his investment to purchasing supplies from the Desert Temple.
Expensive Healing Potion do have some use, at least.
The potions made by priests can at most Cure Critical Wounds, but they are very expensive.
Just as Soren was considering whether to find a way to recruit a high-level professional to complete a five-person Adventurer team, a small accident occurred.
Surprisingly, someone approached him and offered to take on this mission.
It was a woman.
A very beautiful and dangerous woman.
Let's rewind to one day ago.
Soren was just about to return to his Inn. He had hired a group of workers that day to dig a passage to the underground ruins. However, just as he reached the door of his Inn room, Soren's expression suddenly turned serious, and he silently placed his hand on his Scimitar.
Someone has been touching his door!
Before leaving, Soren left a very faint mark, which is now asymmetrical, indicating that the door had been opened.
Soren had instructed the Inn not to clean the rooms, so the possibility of someone else breaking in is extremely high.
There was no sound from inside the room.
Soren was certain that if there was someone inside, they would have heard his footsteps as he went upstairs.
He reached out and grasped the doorknob. Then he took a deep breath and slowly pushed it open. There was nothing unusual in the room, but Soren glance revealed that the items on the table had shifted very slightly. The shift was less than a millimeter or two. If it weren't for his astonishing observation and memory abilities Rogue, he would never have noticed that someone had come in and rummaged through his things.
Squeak!
Soren gently closed the door, not letting his guard down at all even though he couldn't see anyone inside. There were many experts in Stealth in this world, and quite a few people whose abilities were no less than his.
Slurp!
A soft whooshing sound rang out.
Soren's body tensed instantly, then he rolled to the side and drew his Scimitar, Icetail, with a clang. A strange Throwing Dagger appeared near the doorway.
The Throwing Dagger, which looked like a twisted snake, was aimed directly at Soren's throat.
A slight breeze.
In the dim light of the room, a hazy figure appeared, and then reappeared with a whooshing sound. Five Throwing Dagger shot in from different angles, blocking all of Soren's escape routes.
Clang!
Soren instantly drew his sword to block the enemy's attack, and at the same time leaped forward. His figure vanished mysteriously in mid-air, and in an instant reappeared behind the hazy black shadow.
--"Shadow Jump!"
--"Shadow Assassination!"
Soren showed no mercy; every attack was aimed at killing.
"Giggle!"
Just then, the eerie figure let out a clear, delicate laugh, and then the hazy phantom split into three, Dodge in three different directions.
--"Dance of Blur!"
Illusion!
With a lithe and tall figure, she flipped over, lightly touching the rooftop with her toes, and then swooped down, thrusting out a dark Dagger.
"Eastern Dancer!"
Soren frowned, facing the figure rushing down from the roof. Suddenly, he closed his eyes, his ears twitched, and without even looking at the attack above, he swung his sword directly at the foot of the bed. The phantom figure rushing down from the roof suddenly disappeared, while the corner of the wall twisted and flashed again with a hazy shadow.
It's still an illusion!
The enemy has not yet shown up.
