Background / History

The tribe began as the Xuan God’s vassals and developed around his Divine Grace, Sacred Objects, and teachings. Its leaders established rules aimed at restraining violence and teaching members to control “savage” impulses rather than pursue conquest recklessly. 58 106

Under Chieftain Xin, the tribe adopted a suzerain–vassal model for defeated or neighboring groups: affiliates retain internal control, provide resources, and receive military protection from the Xuan Tribe. Tribes seeking full membership must undergo assessment, education, and ideological change rather than being admitted automatically. 96 97

Its influence expanded as smaller tribes converted or integrated, though the Xuan God had prohibited active proselytization and ostentatious worship. Religious Leaders Ti and Lan nevertheless pursued contact with faithless elves and outside visitors, generating substantial outsider Faith and prompting Xuan Sheng to impose limits on unrestricted expansion. 137 141 151 152 176

The Xuan Tribe later developed into a dominant continental military force. It repelled Morning Wind’s ten-thousand-man elite army with one casualty, captured a Morning Wind city, and nearly defeated the empire outright. Sacred Leaf and Morning Wind subsequently sought vassal status under its protection. 363 366 400

After winning the Festival of the Gods, the tribe petitioned the Overgods to locate its missing deity. Their search revealed the Xuan God as a withered, lifeless skeleton, shocking the entire tribe. 747

The tribe later cooperated with the Demon Race in Sky Silence, searched for world fragments to forge Divine Artifacts for the Xuan God, and began relocating its population there in three batches. 767 776
