Tales sat across from him and coughed at that.

"You actually let a defenseless little girl with no foundation in Emerald City snatch away the prey already in your grasp, right under everyone's noses?" Jann said incredulously, his words brimming with reproach.
Wrong. She did have a foundation.

Tales shrugged.
"She has an Extreme Realm Knight at her beck and call."
"And you have the entire Emerald City!"
"An Emerald City that refuses to obey."
But Jann continued berating him relentlessly.
